Got the flu last Tuesday til Friday, so the only time I got to get out is last Saturday and Sunday. So far, the wedding's cool and I am happy that I get to see familiar faces again

So far I am going to MV Doulos with Yuki on either December 20 or 21 (when has her days off work) and I will have to meet Ivy on a later date (maybe next week). So far, everything's ok with my mom being cheerful because my maternal aunt sent her old furnishings for our house, and my other maternal aunt just sent her a cargo box full of goodies for Christmas (YAY!!! ) So far, the atmosphere has been jolly

Right now, I'm trying to practice typing with one hand using QWERTY as to trick my mind...I am trained to do the DVORAK keyboard style (it's a typing style where all of the vowels are in the left middle row of the keyboard and the most used consonants are on the right middle row. Since a lot of PCs here in the Philippines disable the program for DVORAK, I have problems going to some netcafes and even doing typing tests on some job applications )

Thus I found a way to do qwerty and not do away with dvorak by doing a one hand typing technique, only to find out that I have to buy the program! Gotta find a program that I can use for free. Suggestions, anyone?

Made you look ) Though I wanted to go to the world's oldest ocean liner (it's older than the Titanic), the mv Doulos, which is docked in the Manila Pier Gate 13 near the Manila Hotel. I wanted to get a souvenir, plus the liner has this bookshop which I wanted to browse as well

Friday, December 7: I have to get a relax treatment for my hair and redo the French manicure that I have from the bridal spa party last Friday (my polish got chipped Can't have that for my pal Bongki's wedding)

Saturday, December 8: Attend Bongki's church wedding and the reception at Edsa Shangrila Hotel

I was wondering as to why is it that even up to now I can land even one job...either that an emergency would happen thus I can't get into a job interview or I will get a job that would suck. Seriously, it has been 11 months since I have been out of work, and I have been stuck at home, depressed, depressed of being unemployed, depressed of not finishing my study in medicine...but I guess Life has something up...










Just yesterday, I just thought of adding some extra wiring to the bathroom lamp (the bathroom light was broken, so we were using a lamp). I never planned of doing so, but it was just a good idea at that time...I was digging in our storage for some old wires when I heard somebody calling out from outside. I ask my mom that maybe Sonya, the housesitter next door, was asking for something. It turned out to be a serious situation.



Nene, the other housesitter, was retching and vomiting continously, clutching her chest and stomach. Sonya propped her up on a chair, but have to support her as her body was stiff because of pain. She cannot open the gate as of fear of leaving her companion, so I have to climb over the side of the perimeter gate between the two houses.



But I did not expect that the path will be blocked by the tree (it has grown since I last passed through there) and a few large rocks (later on, I had rashes because of the spiny caterpillars). Instead, I climbed over our water tank and stepped over the roof just to get to their water tank on the other side. When I came into the house, there was Sonya supporting Nene who was clutching her chest and stomach, crying out that it hurts. There was vomit on the floor, her chair, her clothes. My mom was near the perimeter gate, giving the emergency numbers. I called for ambulance, then I had Sonya release her so that I could carry Nene to the sofa so that she can lie on her side. That eased her a bit, but she was still vomiting. Nothing was coming out except bile...I have to brief Sonya over and again to get clothes, money, and towels, but she was still in a panic state so she was everywhere carrying some of her clothes and some of Nene's.

I have just left my medical transcription job after three days since the business practices of the lady boss is just damned too dirty for me to stomach - to unplug the Bundy Clock as to keep the workers from going home any earlier (wants the people to work full 10 hours...like, adding up the 1 hour lunch hour, that would be 11 hours being stuck there) is just too much...so I left.

I applied for a general transcriptionist position, and so far I have passed the tests and interview in flying colors The interview said that I will just have to wait for their call for the job offer (YES!).

Yesterday I got an text message from the English school that I have applied last February saying that they would like me to make a teaching demo this Saturday for the ESL (that's English as a Second Language) trainor position. Now that's funny...they didn't call me back after my first one...so they can't find anyone that is qualified? Nyah... Oh well, ain't too bad to try again, huh?

Wish me luck that I'll be able to get a good paying job before Christmas I don't want to be penniless in the season and I do want to be merry...

I begin to wonder if this situation would change, that I can be on my own (I'm not considered a "girl" anymore, that's for sure). My mom doesn't want me too, saying that I'll be stuck in the rut for sure but I am being a realist here. It is hard enough to concentrate at work when she will be calling to say to rush home as she needs to do something and I have to be there to watch over him, etc., etc.

And I noticed as well that my heart's not into it, either. I am thinking of getting a new skill so that I can have a new job.

Man, I need a total overhaul.

Sorry for having no submissions for both art and lit today: artblock and the writer's block affecting me. Although there's a gamut of ideas coming in my head, it does not travel to my hands to work it out. Damn. I wonder what's with me today. And for those whom I am supposed to watch, I'm sorry if I haven't seen all of your deviations for now. Not much of moolah to have time to see them all.

It is also sad to note that my fanfics cannot be viewed by some people - if there is some cussing I rate it as "mature", only to find out that people below 18 cannot read it anymore (duh? Ain't there a more specific rating out there? Like 13+ or 16+, just the GP and the "mature" rating...now that's so 80s). So I'm putting up a fanfiction account just for you guys...I would update you guys when I am already emailed a go from the site...and not only that...I am going to add fanfictions of Gundam Wing, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Yugioh.

I think that it's gonna be fun

When we went out to the campus grounds it was full of students and the local police. We felt that it was hilarious at that time then because of the timing of the threat and the exam - we believed that it was one major prank. But it also made us think, if the bomb was real, will they be able to find it and diffuse it in time and thus we have to go back and take the exam? If the bomb did go off, would the main building withstand it, just like the time when the Japanese did an air raid back in World War II and they bombed it and yet it still stood? We were curious, and fairly excited of the notion.

As expected, nothing went off, thus we went back in and resumed taking the exam.

It was nothing of that sort yesterday, when a bomb exploded at 1:30 pm in Glorietta 2 Mall in Makati. Eight people were reported dead and 100 injured and some people are still stuck in the debris (update this noon: 10 people dead, 119 injured). There was no warning nor bomb threat before it happened.

During that time I was to visit a friend in her pad around 7-8pm. I have no knowledge of the incident til I was in the EDSA highway, with the Makati shuttle making its stop at the Glorietta terminal, which is close to ground zero. heard of the news and called me. She was in a panic when she told me that there was bomb that exploded in the mall, but my cel's battery went off; thus, I did not get all the information.

When I arrived there at the terminal at 7pm, it was a huge crowd, very unlikely at that hour - the people are in the state of anxiety and fear. There are a lot of people queueing for the bus, cab shuttles, jeepneys, the MRT ( got squashed against the glass doors) and the like. The city officials called in every transportation available. Everywhere I go I see people calling their loved ones thru their phones, assuring them that they are not hurt, they are in line waiting to get on the said transportation, they are going home. I tried to see of what happened at the blast site, but emergency vehicles and the police were blocking my view. I saw 7 or 8 policemen rushing into one of the back entrances of Park Square Glorietta 2 near the Kowloon House Restaurant. Traffic aides guiding other people on where to go, talking thru their walkie-talkies every now and then. A news chopper was flying overhead, filming all what was happening down below. I managed to ask a traffic aide whether there is still a jeepney going to Buendia. Thankfully, the Makati Loop jeepneys were there to assist the people (their last trip is usually at 4pm) so I got to my pal's apartment within 22 minutes, despite the traffic.

At that time then what I felt was not fear nor anxiety but sorrow and anger: I cannot believe what some people would do just to get their point across. Are they so cowardly as to kil innocent lives because they can't get the bigwigs? Or is it the other way around: The bigwigs doing this as to blame it on terrorists, a diversionary tactic used way back in the time of Marcos' Martial Law days?

Anyhow, one thing's for sure: Life goes on, and I won't let fear immobilize me. And I think this goes with the rest of us as well. Hey you! Whoever you are. If your aim is to scare the beejeezus out of us all, well fuck you. With the killings and all, Filipinos are damned too angry to what has happened lately. Remember, no murder or killing goes unnoticed.

's okay now. GI doc said that she does have severe gastritis due to the food intake 2 mornings ago. She does not need to go through endoscopy (thank goodness, that is verrry uncomfortable). Fatty and salty foods are a no-no, the doc said, and she is on sick leave for two days. She can work tomorrow night. She is asleep now as I type in this journal. I am glad that she is fine now.

Darned net trouble again: I can access the journal but a while ago I can't send one decent comment (what the?). I have read your comments my dearest people, but dunno whether my comments really came in or not. I will have to check it out tomorrow. But thanks for the speedy replies. you all

Just this morning I got a call from my sis, , saying that she had severe gastric cramps and had loose bowels and is vomiting. I have to rush to her place of work and bring her to hospital. But there was no Gastro-Intestinal specialist there so she has to come back tomorrow.

I think she has food poisoning, so I gave her an antibiotic. She is sleeping ok now.

I remembered last week when I was walking to the net cafe (it is within walking distance from our home). The house two blocks away have lots of dogs, and they let out one or two of their seven dogs outside their gate to guard their cars (they run a rent-a-car business). I don't get bothered by their ceaseless barking, coz the two dogs recognize me as I usually pass by. But that night all of the SEVEN dogs are out (I didn't get to see them because they were hiding around the bend). Seconds later I was surrounded by their band, and I have to slow down my walking as not to startle them.

I was already in a panic - I read about bands of dogs having no fear of humans, and they attack when you make the wrong move. One already jumped in front of me and I have to stopped in midstep - eep! The wrong move! It's a good thing that a guy in a scooter blared his horn and speed up on the left side of the dogs as to distract them and break them up, thus I can resumed my walking pace and went on. (Whoever you are, thank you soooo much for saving me back there. Too bad I cannot repay the guy as he sped off )

No, neither my mom nor yuki knew about this (I told them later but not the details). But did I not take the same path again? Nah. I'm too hardheaded. I did take that path again, but since it's raining, they didn't let the dogs out.

I'm so glad that I didn't get to run into them this time.

It was my bday on the 22nd and 's on the 23rd...though I was happy that some people greeted me on this day (I loverly love you all who greeted me on that very day!!! THANK YOU!!! ) we didn't do much, as yuki's exhausted from work and my mom have to meet my aunt, thus we can't go to Elliot Yamin's concert in Makati. Some of my pals didn't greet that same day thus I was in a bit of a gloom that night but I was happy that I got a lot of greetings afterwards...thank you! (a big and for all of ya!!! Love ya lots )

I dunno what yuki has in store for us both, but I hope that we'll be able to get out next week, maybe watch the newest Resident Evil movie

It's a real blow to me leaving my job, with my health being hard hit due to working the night shift for 15 months straight (never was a night person...If I have sufficient sleep I can survive by waking before 5 am but can't sleep at day and work nights...). I enjoy being on the watch and making comments on journals in the past, but now, since my sis can't fund my long hours in the net I have to make do by checking over my email to see if the companies did respond to my resumes sent and checking out DA every now and then...heck, even some of the literature of yuki I haven't read, either

So far, because of , and I've come out of my shell and got into posting AU fanfics... it won't take long 'til I'll be posting my artworks again.

It's a good thing that I'll be employed again, but I don't want to fall into the depression trap again. I love the people in my last job, but it's the job that kills you: telephone bill collecting (for an car loan). You don't know what people you can talk to. I mean, people in USA have placed bill collectors in the list of IRS people and postal workers, but it's a job, but you don't have to treat these people badly. It's the negative side to it...



My Chapter 5 shall be posted in the weekend. Hope you guys will like it

My sis, newly jumped into the DA bandwagon. Give her a warm welcome, folks! Her creativity flows like Mount Loa on wakeup juice. I guarantee that you won't get bored.

So how was your valentines? Since I haven't found a love interest as of yet, I'd shared it with family instead (gave my ma a James Bond DVD...haven't treated out my sibs as of yet, they have work). As for a soulmate, yes, I believe I have found them, but they are not the amorous type: People has misconceptions about what a soulmate means. A soulmate can be a family member or a friend. And only if both of you are in the same frequency (frequency of Karma [what I have to do to improve myself] or the frequency of Dharma [what I have to do to improve my territory or community]) then you will be able to meet that person...

In the Chinese, today is the start of the new year, so Kung Hei Fat Choi! to all who practice this belief. They say it is a year of bounty in the year of the pig, so I hope that all of you have a prosperous one.

My ma went to mass one Sunday and the priest also touched on the topic of the Chinese new year. But whatever the belief you have there, I think the prayer that he gave is short, simple but gives us the base of our wants and needs. Here it is:

"Dear God,

I wish for my past: Mercy. For my present: Love. For my future: Prosperity. Amen."

"There was a master archer who took three of his pupils to the wilderness. There, he asked all three to aim, but not shoot, at a bird sitting on the bough of a tree near a clearing. As the three took their positions and with strings taut on their bows, the master went to the first pupil and asked, 'What do you see?'

'A clearing where there is a tree, with a bright red bird on one of its branches,' said the student. 'Put down your bow,' said the master.

He went to the second student and asked the same question. The second replied, 'I see the tree with its leaves blown, with the red bird sitting on one of its swaying branches.' Like the first student, he asked the young one to put down his bow.

Then he went to the third but unlike the other two the master praised the boy for what he answered to his question.

And what was what he saw, then?

'The eye of the bird,' that was the third student's reply."



I wanted to share this little story for the benefit of all of us, I guess.


We kinda get distracted at the other stuff that we forget what we're aiming for, especially in keeping our new year's resolutions...don't worry, I'm no stickler as well, hehe.


But I'm getting there, bit by bit...


But it is this sms text message that also puts my resolutions in perspective, and I hope it does help you as well. It is another word from the wise:
