I bought CDs, and earrings and a fun wristband <3 I accidentally bought an edited CD, and here is my rant about such things.

Yes. Edited CDs. Some people go for them. But why? If you don't want to hear what the artist/author ACTUALLY has to say, what's the logic behind buying the CD? The CD I bought has no indication of 'explicit content', but quite a few don't. They have warnings on a lot of CDs about that, but where are the warnings that they've altered the content? This is a way to try and make EVERYTHING 'socially acceptable'. They take good music and change it so that certain people approve. If you don't want to hear 'explicit' language, don't buy the bloody CD! And if parents try to argue that they're trying to protect their kids from all that or whatever, it's not like the kids will not eventually be exposed to such 'foul language' if they haven't already. That might be sad, but it's a reality. You cannot protect kids from that forever, try as you might. If they're going to ruin CDs and put big gaps in the songs, or massive beeping sounds, I guess I can't stop them, but they should have an indication on the CD that it has, in fact, been edited because some people dislike hearing big gaps or beeps just as much, or more, than people dislike hearing artists swear. Or maybe just put the explicit content thing on everything, so you can tell which ones are the real versions. In any case, editing CDs is completely wrong in my opinion, but I know people'll keep doing it -rolls eyes- Stupid people..
