Layla came to visit & we had a looot of fun!

We went to Sea World, Schlitterbahn, the Alamo, the Riverwalk, the Mexican Market, & a bunch of other places. Basically, all the stuff I've been meaning to do since I moved here 4 months ago -_-. If anyone is interested, I'll post some pics from her trip.

Also, I got the Sims 3!!! I'm freakin addicted. It's amazing.

I keep having dreams about my cats, particularly Violet!!

I wake up missing her more & more every day. I'm getting pretty sick of being alone all the time. I know Matt misses home too. He's under so much stress, I'm so proud of him. We're both going to be so happy once we can go back home for a bit & stop having to watch the clock constantly. Then it's off to wherever they're sending us! Which is fine, as long as I actually get to live with him, & he comes home every night. :siiigh:

My older sister Layla is coming to visit from Indianapolis in 2 days

I can't believe I haven't seen my parents, or my CATS

, or the rest of my family in almost 4 months. Lisa came & visited about 2 months ago, which I'm still in disbelief over. It's strange being on my own, I keep thinking about how hard it was to leave home, & now it's going to be hard to go back. My parents are still in divorce limbo land, living in the same household & never speaking. It's nuts

I really don't know how they're still living in this situation. So miserable.

This week has totally sucked. Matt & I are getting hardly any time to see eachother, since his platoon sergeant is a raging bitch & is making his life hell. I drive to the base, sit around for nearly 2 hours waiting, & then get to see him for 5 minutes. Seriously. I'm going to stop myself before I go on a major rant about it.

Anywho, *Gatobob recently posted a journal that made me think. Sometimes when I'm alone for too long with too much time on my hands, I start thinking about horrible, scary things. Just how much shit there really is in the world. Sick, fucked up, & just evil shit. I scare myself, & then I go & watch graphic HBO documentaries about the Sichuan Province in China getting an earthquake that killed 60,000+ people, mostly children, due to poor construction of schools. I watch the Alzheimer's specials & see so much pain. I go to the Wildlife Rescue & Rehab & see animals that have been neglected, abandoned, tortured. I think about the middle east & how my husband is probably going to have to go there for a year. It terrifies me. I stare at the horrible stuff too long & think about it too much. I guess when you take life really seriously, it's hard to see the beauty, it's hard not to be afraid. But if you live in fear, you're not living at all.

OOF! Well, I think I've rambled on long enough. The Sims 3 comes out in a little more than a week! WOOOOOO!!!!

I'm freakin excited!

just a few ^_^]], then there are some that I believe are very talented but seem so conceited & concerned way too much with their popularity on this website. Maybe it's just their way of promoting their artwork. I'm not judging, it's just something that's bothered me for a long time. I've been on here for over 4 years & I have not yet reached 700 pageviews lol. I'm not sure if anyone even reads this journal...but that's not why I'm on here. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

I'm still struggling with learning the ropes of Photoshop.

I feel like I'd just be better off sticking with traditional art. I'm not sure why such a big part of me wants to learn it o_O I've also been fiddling around with some HTML stuff. Just minor crap. There are still so many things about it that I don't understand.

I feel like I can never have a positive journal entry, for the past few weeks I've been in a crappy mood every day. I can't get myself to leave the house, mainly because I'd be alone & I don't know anyone here, & Matt & I will be leaving in a month. & actually possibly maybe live together as a normal-ish married couple.

I don't have a job, & I don't really want one. At this point it wouldn't even be worth it. On a positive note, my sister Layla is coming to visit in a week! I'm pretty excited, I hope she'll have fun here.

I miss my family a lot.

The weather is so beautiful here today! I love the big puffy clouds, the hot weather, it feels like it would if it were mid-summer in Indiana. I really freakin wish I had a pool, or was closer to the beach.

I've been drawing despite my bad mood, & trying to keep the negative thinking out. Every time I put the pencil to the paper, or open up photoshop, I get these voices in my head telling me I suck & should give up before I even try to start. Maybe it's a bad sign that I just said "I get these voices in my head."

Whatev, I'm trying my best to ignore them & push past it. Maybe something good will come out in the end.

Now I'm going to stop inhaling these Twizzlers before I explode into a gross, red, sticky mess.

Life as an army wife of a man who's still in training f-ing sucks. I have to watch them treat him totally unfairly & like complete dog shit, & I have absolutely no control over it. Plus we can't live together, hell he can't even spend one night with me. I really wish they made an exception for soldiers with wives while they're in training. I'm sick of asshole sergeants. I'm sick of ft sam houston, I'm so ready to move on & go live with my husband. He'll probably be deployed the second we actually have life & home together.

Right now I'm seriously trying to stay positive & be optimistic about the future. But we've had so many road blocks already.

I know all is not lost, & it could be much worse, but I continue to feel depressed. The situation with my parents has also done nothing but get worse. I wish they could all just move on & stop being miserable. I wish I could do something.

& I miss my freakin cats.

Christmas went by so fast this year!!! & I can't believe it's the first day of 2008! Freakin crazy...2007 was absolutely horrible. Seriously one of the worst years of my life. i've got about a thousand & one new year's resolutions. & unfortunately our Christmas here in Indianapolis wasn't white :'(, but it was a pretty good one. i got lots of good stuff. Well, i guess it was a good one. it had some really good points & some really bad ones. & this was probably the most stressful christmas of all time. i'm sad it's gone though, it seems i was so stressed over it this year that i didn't even have time to enjoy the spirit of it.
Good riddance to fucking 2007.

I plan on submitting some stuff on here soon. & i also have a new obsession, PULLIP. I want them all. & i've been literally lying around all day watching the Twilight Zone. Good times, noodles salad!

Hooray, I'm ready for more snow!

It's been this nasty rain lately

it makes me sad.

I just started my new Starbucks job. it's pretty fun! i've been kinda sick lately, but i feel better today. i went & saw Regina Spektor the other night with Matt for our 1 year & 4 months

I'm expecting that those Monarch chrysalis's i found outside are going to emerge reeeally soon...probably tomorrow morning. I've also been finding a lot of caterpillars in the past couple days, so it's really time for the end-of-summer butterfly season. I found a half-dead monarch caterpillar today & i took it home & put it on a plant that i think is milkweed in my backyard..but idk if he'll make it

i wanted to get that other journal off my main page. i really don't want summer to leave. i'm so sad to see it go. the leaves are still green on the trees, but it's getting a little colder every day. i really like fall & winter but my favorite season by far is summer. i'll also be 21 in about a month

i found 2 Monarch chrysalis's hanging from the wall of my back porch thing. they will probably emerge in about a week, i'd guess. so yay!

i've still got a couple weeks left until it's officially fall, so i'll try & make the most of it. candy corn reminds me of halloween...nnooooooo!

i love halloween but i love the blazing hot, lazy summer days!! & nights!!! i love being outside at night when it's nice & hot out. i'm going to miss all the butterflies that are out during spring & summer..i guess it'll come back soon enough. i like having 4 seasons but i always miss & anticipate summer the most. it seems like most the people i know hate summer & the heat. idk if i'm just weird or what but i love it. it's really weird to think that it's already almost time for fall & thanksgiving & CHRISTMAS

that's so insane. it really seems like the years go by faster & faster the older i get. i only got to swim in a pool once this whole summer

& i didn't go to Myrtle Beach with my family like i usually do. so i guess that made this summer a lot different..i was so used to going to the beach at least once a year it's weird not going this year. :siiiigh: summer's not over yet!!!

oh yeah & i got my hair cut. it looks a lot different. i got bangs & a bunch of layers..i'm still getting used to it. my bf Matt loves it so i feel much better. it was so long & straight before..i did one of those numbers -> :looks in the mirror at the salon: "wow i love it!!!" - - 10 minutes later at home..- - "OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE???!!!"

GAARRRR it's been one of those fucking days....i felt like i was on a roll with my stuff, my life, & then shit hits the fan again.

At my house, the way of arguing with eachother never consists of calmly confronting one another, talking out the problem, & resolving it. No no no...it consists of someone running at you, screaming at the top of their lungs, & everyone else ganging up on you. i try so hard to stay calm when i am suddenly being screamed at, but i get this adrenaline rush & have to scream back. & of course it always ends with both people saying things just to hurt the other. Actually, no. i stopped doing that because i realized what it did. i can at least say that even when i lose my temper, i refuse to let myself say mean things that are simply meant to hurt. but my family members do not refrain. they say the meanest thing they can possibly think of about the most sensitive subject & then run away. god i'm too fucking sensitive, i need to learn to let go.

On the other hand, i had a pleasant surprise after all this. ~DimFlowerpot wrote a poem for me

YAY! New subscription! & i've actually taken the time to somewhat learn the basics of CSS stuff. Although i was getting really confused & frustrated for a sec...my journal is pretty simple..boring

I just submitted a bunch of photos i took where i work at the Indianapolis Zoo in the butterfly conservatory. & i downloaded a trial version of paint shop so i can actually put a decent border & signature on them. man i'm poor.

they are now exploded. they've almost managed to go mainstream..i should be happy for their success. but i'm not. i'm jealous. isn't it sad the way we make ourselves obsessed with fantasy heroes? there was a time in my life where all i really cared, thought about, practically lived for, & worshiped was them. that was actually not that long ago either. a fucking band with an attractive, charismatic, & crazy lead singer. i've had some disappointments with my infatuation. i still love their music & i can't help admitting i'm still a little crazy about the singer, but why do i get my hopes up when i know they would never ever remember me. why is that even important to me?

It's weird but i remember this exact time last year. I can't believe a year has already gone by. My mice died almost exactly a year ago, & so did Mark. I can remember sitting at my new computer & just staying on it all night while i occasionally watched the snow fall outside & left the room every once in a while to watch adult swim, particularly Inuyasha. Now Inuyasha doesn't even play on it any more. it was such a depressing time in my life..i had just quit school, i felt like absolutely nothing was going for me, & i felt so alone. All i did was stay up all night looking at art on dA, & sleeping most the day.
