There are a lot of great instructors on drawing, the best in my opinion would be the great George Bridgman, i would recommend his book Bridgman's complete guide to drawing from life . I try to keep two things in mind when i paint.

1. The body is composed of small shapes on top of big shapes.

2. Muscle are more like smooth squares than they are like flat circles.

I like to use painter 7 it contains my all time favorite brush just add water under the brushes named liquid.

I nearly always paint in black and white first and then color. Wile painting the black and white part i am continually improving the drawing. 75% of the painting is completed at the end of this stage.

This is the stage i start to really use a lot of reference , if i am trying for a more realistic painting.

After the black and white stage is done i may adjust the brightness and contrast of the painting.

Next, the color, i create an new layer colorizes some times gel

next i lay down a base color , to be use mostly for the shadows, in this case purple. Next i paint more of the foreground colors , i will sample colors from my favorite paintings and real life.

Normally i paint the background last but in this case i already had a background, so all i did was create a duplicate layer of the figure and then moved it over to the background painting.

I made a duplicate layer of the background painting and set it over the figure layer and then set in on colorize so that i would have a complete color match with the background .

I then erase some of the color so that it doesn't look like a tomato lol.

I then blur the edges and the erase the overlap.

And now for the last i create a duplicate layer of the painting and then set the layer on gel you can use multiply if you don't have the gel layer, and now we are done .

Happy Yom Kippur! have a great day

Yom Kippur is a day of NOT doing. There is no blowing of the Shofar and Jews may not eat or drink, as fasting is the rule. It is believed that to fast on Yom Kippur is to emulate the angels in heaven, who do not eat, drink, or wash.

Iâm back Iâm back Iâm back were to begin , I have spent the last few months studying intensely for a test , well actually 2 that most people fail the first time they take, both a builders and a legal test . I just took them the other week and I have been waiting on pins and needles for my results, and I am here to say......... .. I PASSED BABBY!!!! BOTH OF THEM FIRST TIME OUT !!! It is a great and glories day!

First I like to thank Jesus for all the support he has given me and my family for being there and many others .

OK, so this is a new way of doing paintings for me, normally i would use about 90 percent reference and 10 percent imagination, and now i use 10 percent reference and 90 percent imagination, and yes there is a drop in precision but i am sure it will payoff. The freedom of expressing fully the imagination as opposed to being a slave to a photograph is worth it. i believe it will take about 5 more painting to master this new way of painting ... well, maybe master is a strong word ha ha ... all advice is welcome .. about painting that is ........ OK other stuff to

V-Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday 27 2005 1:00 PM eastern standard time, a light gray envelope measuring 8 by 6 inches weighing 5/8 's of a pound was delivered to the residence of a Mr. Sean G. . what was in that envelope, would have such a profound effect that it would span the remainder of his life. this day would be come to be known as V-Day or the day vegemite attacked !! He pondered at the small brown vessel, with yellow labeling, contained with in the envelope for hours, contemplating the mystery in the glass jar. in a sudden if not surprising display of speed, he tore open the yellow top. he would later describe the ensuing smell in a single word, burning. dazzlingly he wonder toward his toaster procuring a piece of white bread. once toasted, butter and just a hint of the vexing dark substance was applied. his movement toward the first bite might be described as slow all others were said to be frenzied. they found his bloated body in a pile of butter and toast, a single word could be seen smeared in the vexing dark paste ........... delicious!

Long ago when tigers smoked pipes, there was a world that lived in harmony, with out war, disease, or mishap, and then man was born. Man created by god in the image of god a creator like him self, boundless with the creative power of the cosmos, if only in his dreams. And how deep his dreams were, of fascination and furry, a pleasant benefit of sleep. But were there was benefit there was also despair, careless was man with his dreams. In a world of paradise man inflected unimaginable horror and pointless death, all because of his neglected imaginings. In that imaged wasteland, after eons of torment they struck back, and nightmares were born. Born of hate, they trained man to fear, to fear his deepest dreams, and it worked, for a time only the most spirited allowed themselves to dream deeply in spite of there fear. Pleased they were and proficient they became, no child escaped their nightmares and most grew to be dull in their adulthood. But hate begets hate, and if dreams can ravage a world, then what of nightmares! Night terrors were born, these boogiemen with misshapen power, began to open this world bleeding our young of their sprit and finally there flesh, but that was long ago when tigers smoked pipes.
