My dad has had a series of heart pacemaker/defib issues.  Last month he received a shock from the pacemaker which corrected a potentially fatal heart beat.  As such, he's unable to drive for SIX MONTHS and I've been carting the poor guy to and from work and the doctor and whereever else he needs to go. (Mom works full time, so her hands are tied.)

In other news, I've been doing a lot more exercise and healthy low-carb cooking thanks to Foxfeather! It's been about two months and I'm thirty pounds down and falling....it's great!

After I moved back to Wisconsin from Georgia a few years back, I've been all over the place. I spent some time in Canada with the lovely Torrent and Lyosha and TK, and in Washington and other arears with my best bro Berbalang (who has since moved to California, the jerk :). In the process of settling back down in the midwest, I've completely neglected my professional portfolio and lost many of my professional contacts...so that's another thing I need to do once I tackle overdue commissions.

In and of itself it is NOT an accomplishment.  While tight rendering may be flashy and a good skill to learn, it is far from the ultimate artistic peak unto which we creative types may aspire.  Too many artists are revered simply because they overload their work with mindless, repetitive detail.

Be warned: When detail (or any other single feature--thanks Pac) takes precedence over content, you cease to be an artist... you are merely a wrist and you will never do your imagination justice.
