All admins have been absent for a looong time, I apologize for that. Seems that inventing things for a club like this to actually do is more difficult than commonly thought...
So once again, dear members, suggestions are welcomed! If you have idea for a competition, or just some other project that might inspire other members, now is the time to tell!

Some people have been asking to be added, I've done that now and replied to everyone, but you can also note me, =juuhanna, about joining this club if this place falls inactive again for a while.

Right, I seem to be the only admin of this club left. As far as I'm concerned, that is not a problem, and I'm more than happy to add new members, and submit new pieces (4 new guys added just now, and soon a new pic will drop into your inbox.)

Yes, this is as important as I'm trying to make it sound. :|

After our recent gallery change (in which commenting was disabled and users were requested to add the original artwork to their favourites) it has come to my attention that there are a few deviants who still seem intent on favouriting this commune's submissions. You know who you are, and I must request that you stop (although you probably won't because you're attention hungry fav-whores anyway :roll:).

The deviants who contribute submissions to the commune are very important to us, and their efforts must be respected. Therefore, I must request again that, if you feel like adding a submission to your favourites, do so at the original deviation through the link provided, as stated in the deviation's description! I seriously cannot stress that enough, and I wish there were more HTML tags I could add to emphasize it further, but there aren't.

Anyone caught blatantly flauting this rule will be removed from the commune's member list. That's right: no more second chances. :aww: If you can't read a simple instruction, you'll be better off not being on a website that relies almost entirely on text-based communication, or online at all.

You all may not have expected a rant, but this really irritates me. Moreso because people's efforts are beginning to go to waste. What good is a commune when the efforts of our more active members are being exploited by those who can't abide by simple rules?

I apologise to anyone who's missed out on favourites as a result of this. There's very little that can be done. :(

I've been thinking about this for a while, now. I've decided to put this into action after seeing other clubs and after a recent note from a new member.

When a member submits something to this club, we get comments and favourites that don't rightly belong to us, as it is not our work. From now, all future submissions will have comments disabled, and a request not to favourite it. Instead, a link to the original deviation will be given in the description, to redirect deviant's commenting and favouriting there.

I will now go and ammend our entire gallery to this effect.

This should be a fair system, as the deviants who donated the submissions get the comments and favourites, which they rightly deserve.

Apologies for the inactivity. I had no idea that this place had been idle for a whole 3 weeks, so I needed to update it. This commune is not dead, it's just been a bit stagnant as of recent, but that will change!

Hello, this be ~mysterious-w, in the last journal our revered founder =vernavulpes announced that her tenure as acting head of this club was ciming to an end (a.k.a. she got fed up :aww: ) Well, I decided I couldn't let this place rot, so I asked Verna if I could become an admin for this place and get some life back into it again. She said, what the hey, yes. So here goes nothing. Here are my first 2 acts.

1. Recruitment Drive

I am hereby asking that all active members (i.e. those that have not forgotten they joined this place), create a journal entry or put a message in their latest one, asking for new recruits. Any viable community on dA has to have new members, and I can't get many alone. So shout for the rooftops JOIN THE CARBOARD BOX COMMUNE!! :)

UPDATE: It has been less than 12 hours since I made the call for recruits, and we already have two new members. This is great news, but please don't become complacement, I'm still asking for your support fellow boxaholics!

UPDATE 2: One more member, and one new submission, come on guys, keep it up!

2. The devID

As I was a simple member when this contest was run, I do not have access to all the entries, but only my own. Therefore, this will be the new devID for now.

After looking at the other entires I see mine pales in comparison, so if the other contestants could post their entries in scraps and note the club/~mysterious-w a link or email me at mysterious.w@gmail.com , I will invoke some kind of rota. If any other people would like to contribute an ID, give it to me, and it'll join the rota.

I don't see much point on stressing over a club with over 50 members of which 9 bothers to vote on the first contest and even less participates on the whole Photography Gallery project, which was the whole point I founded this. I didn't even want to found this club all by myself, because I knew I'd take pointless stress about it, but in the end it seems I did found the club by myself.

For now, I'll put the club "on hold",
Will the club be active again... We'll see.
At the moment I've pretty much lost all my interest on it.

If you have something on your mind concerning the club or questions, note me directly to =vernavulpes, because I propably won't come here to check the notes, and I'm not sure if anyone else will either.

We hope you aren't too disappointed with us, and all new people are more than welcome to join, and we encourage more members to take photographs for the gallery! : )

The community took place in our founder =vernavulpes’s mind in the year 2004 as she came to realise that future has nothing more to offer her, but a cardboard box where to live in and shake her fist at passing by people.
While she’s at it, why not have a commune of cardboard boxes, where people could gather and yell threats at the middle-class passer-bys?
As =vernavulpes has continued to talk about her yet to become community, =juuhanna was eager to follow the foundation. And not only =juuhanna, but many others have informed their interest to join the community of cardboard boxes. Thus the idea of creating the club came to existence.

To join, the participant should possess only one thing; A cardboard box. Whether it is a big or small box, if you can fit and live in it, you’re Welcome to join the commune. Just drop a message on the front page and you can also feel free to note us.

I think we have enough members now to hold our first contest!
We thought like many clubs here in deviantArt, our commune also should have an ID.
I'll submit details later, as soon as we can figure out what we can offer as prize.
We're still lacking ideas for prizes, so any suggestions would be appreciated, unless they're impossible to carry out.
