Right now I'm working on an upcoming series of fetish digital erotica to illustrate a friend's book, and most likely I won't be able to post those graphics here, but on Renderotica. Even when I consider myself an erotic artist, it's hard to see that DeviantART isn't ready to embrace digital erotica, on the same degree that does with photographic art. Both are judged on the same standard, even when it's plain to see that those disciplines are entirely different. I've been asked lately why I post my artwork only on the Wallpaper - Females section, and the reason is that, in my own opinion a wallpaper is something you have on your sight all the time without having to use a graphics program to see it. It's a part of the user's attempt to express her/his taste, just as it could be done by hanging a painting on the wall. I've been reading Shakespeare for 20 years. It's so easy to fall into his words, and find an insightful view of humankind, regardless of the times. Shakespeare was not a philosopher, or a preacher, or a conventional moralist; just a dramatist who knew the limits of what he could do, he represented things and left his audience to look for some meaning in what they saw. He made his audience think. I just got a wonderful letter from someone who enjoys my artwork, expressing how much it means to her, in 9 pages. I'm glad that my dear friend~ rabidmongoose is recovering from his heart procedure. I hope you're cutting down that cholesterol, for God's sake!. Get better!.
This has been a wonderful month in terms of work and creativity, but also my time to comment on my fellow deviarts artworks is being compromised. As expected, I'm bouncing back. I feel much better, had the procedure I needed and had some rest. Also, most of my personal problems are resolved, in a way or another, and that's a good thing to say. Right now, the only thing that keeps me back from commenting is the poor performance that has been having this site lately. I have to thank everybody who sent me notes, comments, e-mails and phone calls in this past weeks with my deepest regards.
I got an interview by a student magazine from my alma mater, and it was delightful to be able to explain many of the inner workings that make my artwork so fullfilling. Like explaining why my graphics always look so dark (people who knows me from years and years always complain when watching movies at my place that you can barely see anything on my TV), what is the creative process behind a graphic and how I manage to get anything accomplished with my schedule. Right now I'm dealing with many issues in my personal life, health and career that don't give me enough time to comment and create as I used to. However, I'm sure this is just temporal. I've been deeply dissapointed by someone who betrayed my trust entirely, against my best judgement. So, I ask in advance to bear with me if I behave a little bit too sharp in the future. I've simply come a point where I simply don't trust. Period.

A diamond without cutting, is nothing but a shapeless translucid stone, without any appeal or finesse. It takes a very skilled cutter to bring out the beauty that resides inside the stone, and show it to the world. The same happens to any artist. We all have this shapeless talent inside of us, that our experiences and relationships with other artists and the public shape slowly, taking away the parts we don't need and making shine the rest. Being here, in DeviantART, is one of the most rewarding experiences I can think of. I appreciate the relentless support and friendship of all my fellow deviants. I hope my future artwork is only at the same level of this support, and continues to give enjoyable experiences to any who looks at it with an open mind and heart. Thanks to everyone, from the bottom of my soul.
I'm feeling better but will have another procedure this February 21st to correct a problem on the first sinus drainage. I found out that my inbox was empty, so I'll have to manually browse on my watch list to comment on the many graphics that I had not the chance, over the next few weeks. This past weeks have been like a blur at work, and having a maxilar sinus surgery and endodontic procedure at the same time doesn't help to make things better. Right now the left side of my face is swollen and nevertheless I still have to show up at work. Such is life when you're in this trade.
My gallery in the Premier section at Renderotica has right now some of the pieces that I consider my very best on terms of technique and development. It's such a thrill to see that erotic digital art has a proper place where is fully appreciated for its own merits, without any judgement or preconception. Even an old dog learns new tricks.

WHAT'S NEW ?

This past week has been one of the most demanding I ever had on terms of work at the hospital and patients. So, that translates as little time to sleep or anything else. Even logging here takes a toll, so don't be surprised if I reply your comments and notes with a great delay. Right now I have over 1800 deviations to comment in my inbox, and I'll get on them methodically and slowly, as usual. Be patient and bear with me.
I managed to finish one graphic, Ashen Sorrow, and I'm glad it made it to Daily Deviation, DTF and Daily Print even when I had so little time to complete it. It's such a great satisfaction, and I want to thank everybody for their constant support.
I've signed my contract with Renderotica and now my Premier Gallery is composed of material that is entirely exclusive and not available nowhere else. I'll post some preview icons on my *carlos-teran-icons account very soon, so you get an idea of the material posted in the Premier Gallery.

WHAT'S NEW ?

Now officially I'm behind my comments by a long shot. Right now my inbox has over 600 new graphics to comment and over 300 comments on my own graphics to reply. So, bear with me and I hope to get it clean over this week. Promise.
My gallery at Renderotica Premier is now having a massive clean up, so the material there is entirely exclusive and not available nowhere else. WHAT'S NEW ?

The acquisition of Curious Labs (the company that produces the Poser program) by the japanese company e frontier is just another brick on the wall of a cursed program. Loved by thousands of faithful users and hated by the mainstream 3D artists, this program has seen a torpid evolution on the last decade. First created by Fractal, the program has evolved light years since its release in 1994 on the Macintosh, becoming a commodity for Metacreations, and Curious Labs as the best selling character program in the brief history of 3D art. So far, I have the hope that this merger will keep the standard of excelency that the program has right now. So, the dices are rolling.
It's overwhelming how behind my commenting is. Someday soon I'll finish to clean my inbox... so, be patient if you suddenly feel I haven't posted a reply to a comment on my own graphics, because I'm trying to comment on others first. Thanks.
I don't know why, but the performance of this site has had a sudden jolt. I'm navigating and uploading almost at the same speed than in Yahoo. Kudos for you, guys.

WHAT'S NEW ?

Many of the users of this site just don't realize how wonderful and transparent this place is for the user. Let me explain why I have in such regard our community. I'm member of several art sites, such as GXArtist, DigitalART.Org and WinCustomize.Org, and several others that I won't mention for personal reasons. If you think DeviantART is a troublesome place, it means you need to be around the block some more. By example: In all of those places, you need to upload your own thumbnails, you have to submit graphics not bigger than one size, and no bigger than a given weight in Kb. While submitting, you have to suffer the lack of bandwith of those sites. In one of them, you can't even post them, you have to link the image to a personal site so the users can see your artwork in full size (and they don't accept links to DeviantART or any free homepage server). In one I don't mention here, you get a personal comment from one of the admins in your work, that is usually despective and lacking on artistic sensibility, and sadly that comment sets the tone for the rest of the comments from the rest of users (that usually jump at you as sharks). The most infuriating thing is that, after submitting, in one of them you have to wait 4 days until the admins approve your graphic (and if they don't accept it, they never contact you to let you know). Trust me... this place is a Heaven on Earth compared with the garden-variety art sites around. I'm a hard critic on DeviantART, because I love it. I support it on every way (with subscriptions, print account, asking friends to subscribe, promoting the site) and I always hope the next month the new servers will be working and my prayers are answered. But, as a character from a Garcia Marquez novel, it seems I just gaze into the river hoping for the ship full of promises to arrive. And every month, I return and hope this ship to arrive. As a loving father, I would love to see this 3 years old child to reach maturity. I hope you'll be with us to see that day.
This January 4th is *falcon-fangoria's birthday. She knows I wish her the best and I hope this new year makes her wishes come true, including her Edsel Pie.

One friend commented me that this page shows a rating of 3 on the Yahoo Toolbar . So I installed the thing just to check and yes, she was right. Someone knows what it means?.
I'm honestly tired of the many projects that this site gets into, and that become ultimate failures. Like the Deviator program (in its several incarnations), the Version 3 shell for the site, the Exclusive Content and Forums for subscribers, the deviantMAG, the Polls (that only shows that the management running the site actually do it as their personal turf and club without making any point or sense), and now the Feature Me! and Premium Content System. Every single one of those activities, was announced with pomp and circumstance, as the site's performance decreases. I have a 2048K broadband connection, and even when I'm not much of a browser, this site is the slowest on my links. I'm fully aware of the effort made by the people who run this place. But I also have a diplomate in Businness Management besides being an MD, and I know this amateurish way to run a community isn't the best way at all. A good start would be stop making a big fuzz of such inconsecuential issues and try to run this bohemian place as a more client-oriented enterprise. The time of the subscriptions runs, and none of the promises are delivered.
Help this wonderful community by becoming a subscriber. Do it without expecting anything but the satisfaction of saying I'm a DeviantART artist. Give without boundaries.

Since December 12th I've become a featured Premier Artist at Renderotica, therefore becoming one of their 100 featured artists on their pay-per-view galleries. The response to my work has been great, and I've been blessed with the inspiration and support of the wonderful and gifted ~vampiregoddess16 in the creation of some of my best pieces in that gallery. So far I've posted 10 graphics, and I'll have featured there 50 graphics than will be available only for paying customers.
