Yes the DAY is quickly approaching AGAIN!!! Seems like just yesterday we were all hustle and bustle trying to prepare for what seems a blink of an eye....Its nice to have family and friends, and Christmas parties, and snow (yes i said it), makes it seem just a little more magical (it can leave Boxing Day)!

Between running kids here and there and decorate the store for Christmas, yes I said it..Christmas, the worst thing of all happened to me today....my Jeep (god rest her soul) was deemed not safe to drive anymore, which is just dandy.
I probably shouldnt vent, but damn, how the heck am i suppose to do anything, you see a new vehicle is not in my cards, not now anyway...it just sucks, and im so sad. In fact im not sure how I will ever be able to afford and new car, whoa is me!
Anyway, right at this point in time, my life, well its just not cheery!

I thought I had better update as i havent done so in ages.

First off, today is the day, (Aug 14, 2002), when alot of us sat in the dark for hours and hours and hours, so rememeber to keep your power usage down, as much as possible. Im sure many of you where affected by the HUGE power outage of 2002, I was at work, got to go home early, but the thing I remember most was the silence. It was oh so eery, yet beautiful at the time.

Next, I need to say THANK YOU, to all who have been supporting me over the past months, I have become sort of a fav and runner, but have not forgotten my friends here. Work has got me down, and busy and a few other things whey heavy on my heart, but I will prevail. On a brighter note HOLIDAYS ARE SOON COMING, a week in which we travel 5 hours up north away from the hustle and bustle and relax and fish. I CANT WAIT.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE, and oh yes for those of us who live in Ontario...HAPPY SUMMER, finally!!!

Michael Jackson, a most controversial man, a most dedicated man, a man who changed the world.

As news came in about Michael Jacksons death, i was stunned, "could it be", i thought, "NO WAY", but it was true, a stunning and vibrant musician had left. We all judge, and Michael Jackson was truly judged. But lets not remember him for what his closet held. Michael Jackson, CHANGED, the music world forever, he stood his ground and MADE the world and MTV recognize the Black Artist. He was caring, and soft, and really did CHANGE THE WORLD FOREVER.
IN 1984, I had the opportunity of witnessing the biggest concert, in the World. It truly was everything I was hyped up to be, and one I will NEVER forget it.
In some small Michael Jackson has made me STOP and look at our world, to CHANGE just something little, my heart is saddened today, but I know that he is at peace, and that the world around us has been touched by this truly wonderful artist.

Yes its true, its time for all of us to start going on our summer vacations, (well vacations, not quite sure about the summer). This year on our first week we are going to stay home and do a few road trips.
Both of our planned trips are very exciting for us. The first place we are heading is [link] This has been on our to-do-list for a couple of years now, and I CANT WAIT!!!
The second is a trip to our ZOO...The Toronto ZOO, which will be exciting also. I havnt been since my children were small, so that is about 20 years.

Well June is here, or is it....feels like Fall, rainy, cloudy, damp, did I say rainy and COLD. Global Warming is upon us....I read the other day how my ex-husband, liked Global Warming. May eldest..who lives in Indonesia, gave him a blast, about how Global Warming is terrible and how it will effect everyone in someway or another, and how HIS grand children will have to experience a most terrible weather era.
Global Warming is not good...but this weather is horrid. Is summer ever coming our way, will we ever be able to take of the pants, will it ever get sunny enough out to go out to take photos.
Im starting to wonder...hows things your your part of the world.

I managed to get out and about these past few days, it has been sunny and warm here, but still I have a wonderment about my photos. To me I seem to be getting off track, trying to experiment, with crappy results, not taking good enough photos for me. Posting because, in some way i feel obligated, but never being pleased with the work.

Im still trying to fine tune my abilities, but I think im getting worse LOL!

But anyway, thats my thoughts on my work these days.

On a brighter note my friend Tim [link] has been offered a gallery showing of his work...you should ALL take time to go visit. Its wonderful and inspiring.

Tina & Mike Still Need Help!

As many of you know by now, `hellfirediva and her husband Mike are in some deep financial trouble.

The bank is getting ready to foreclose on her and her husband Mike's home. She is in need of about $6000 to get the payments back up to snuff. At last count that I saw the tote was about $1376. This is what we've been able to raise in the last 24 hours!

We're 25% of the way there! Let's keep this rolling!

Tina and Mike haven't been sitting on their hands either. Mike went to the bank this morning and managed to get a 14 day extension, to avoid foreclosure.

If you don't mind, I'd like to take a moment to give you an idea of what happens when your home is foreclosed on. First understand, this is a legal proceeding. The lawyers for the bank go to the courts and legally obtain ownership of your home. Depending upon the state, you will have anywhere from 30 to 60 days to vacate the property. If you don't leave it, the Sheriffs department is charged with bodily removing you from the property, with or without your belongings. Once you have been removed from the property the bank assigns a realitor to sell the property. Here's that bad part, if the property sells for less than what you owed on it, you are still responsible for the difference and the sale price. Now, there are exceptions to this, like if the home was purchased under a VA guaranteed loan. Also different states have different laws, regarding when you can be evicted and the time you have to bring the note to current. In most all cases, after the foreclosure proceedings start, the only amount that the banks will accept is full payoff of the loan.

I know that money is tight all over the world, but here is where small sums quickly can make a difference!

You'll note that Kirk mentions buying Tina's prints. People, she won't get this money fast enough! She needs it now and needs it fast!
If you can spare $5 $10 $20 or even more it would be very helpful. In the event that we can't raise enough in time, this money will go for their relocation to an apartment.

I've discussed this situation with Tina, she never asked for anyone's help, and she and her husband Mike never expected this. She's a very proud person, as many of us are, and I know she's embarrassed by it all. I've been where she is and know it hurts. I also know the feeling when you do get helped out, and your home is safe again from the "wolves".

Just as a note, and this is not all about me, I don't play that way, but when =MagePrydain needed help a while back, =LadyAliceofOz and I were down to our last $4.00. Normally we can help people out here on DA, but we couldn't that time. The best I could do was contact a couple of deviants that I know, that were looking for someone to help out. I believe they made sizable donations to that effort. This is the kind of help we could use here! If you yourself cannot help financially, please, alert others that you know that might be able to help! Contact your friends via e-mail, and IM's. Put the link in your Facebook account, or MySpace account as well!

If you give to your church regularly, or to the Salvation Army, please, take that $10 or $20 this week and donate it to help one of our own! =LadyAliceofOz and I have donated $10.00 each, it's really all we can afford.

She may not appreciate me saying this, but I know much of the morning Tina was crying, crying out of embarrassment, and out of realization that so many of you have come together to help. I don't know how much sleep she got last night. I do know she was up well after I went to bed and she was up long before I got up! I know for a fact, that in earlier times she was responsible for many, many, deviants receiving free subscriptions. She spent countless hours devoted to DA as a Gallery Moderator. She is the recipient of many Daily Deviations and an "Angels Without Wings Award". This is not an award bestowed upon people to suck up to them! If that were the case I would have never received one!

Folks, we are her, and Mike's final hope! They are doing things to help themselves, but like most situatutions, that money will be too little to late!

Well, Christmas is fast approaching and for me that just way to fast. I havent managed to do much shopping yet, which leaves me a little distressed. Today is a big day at work for me. I offically become the assistant manager of our store. Did I mention that I work at the Salvation Army. A wonderful place to work, and wonderful organization to be part of. With so many people on lay-off, wages cut, struggling to get by, this organization steps up to the plate each and everyday. If you happen to walk through the mall and see a volunteer standing at a kettle make sure to drop in a few coins. They are desperate this year.

Well winter has surely arrived here in Ontario. I'n not a big fan of winter, so i've posted a few spring like pictures to make us all feel better. Which kinda brings me to my point, has anyone noticed, their pageview counter is messed up. When i went to bed lastnight, I left a photo with 12 pages views, this morning it had 35 or something like that..my counter says only 5 have been added. Is it me or is this messed up and how many pageview do WE truly have!
Anyway, just wondered if anyone else has the same problem....and of course enjoy your day. Im off to Medevil Times in Toronto, [link] for our Christmas bash!!!

I read everything from shutter speed to ISO, to F stop.
I experimented, I failed.....im sure there has to be some kind of special talent in getting these pictures perfect, well at least lookable.
Some where to grainy, especially at high shutter speed, some where to dark, (ISO settings). I think I should invest in photography courses at our local college.
Or, some help from my friends here on DA.
At any rate, if you see one of my photos, out of the norm, of my photography skills, please comment. I wanna learn, learn, learn

Yesterday my friend in Goderich, who owns a Dance Studio, called and asked me to come up there next Sat and take photos of his class on belly dancing. Now, being as im not that good at taking people pictures, nor do I have the equipment, I was very hesitant on accepting this offer. Although I guess it would be a start.
But after running it by a few people I think I will attempt this feat. Im to humble I think, when i think that im not that good, but i want to be better so I guess in my eyes, this is an opportunity to see.

At any rate, we do have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day parade on Monday, and the weather here, well, its suppose to be beautiful, I cant wait.
Hope you are all safe this weekend, and if you live anywhere near the Kitchener town, come on by for the parade Monday morning, its worth the time.

Once again I am back logged with Deviations and messages. Work you know, its getting to be a time consuming affair!!!! ug!!!! I've been put into a position that im not really appreciative of, although it does give me experience to broden my horizons if I ever get the chance.

Secondly DA is NUTS!!!!! I had 57 pageviews on a photo yesterday, and not one view accounted anywhere...which leads me to believe that we are all getting many more views than we think!!!! Something needs to be done...do ya think they will ever get the "BUGS" out???
On a lighter note....the weather here has been simply gorgeous, and in 4 days im going on holidays, to the wonderful Northern Ontario world, cant wait!!!

HAPPY LONG WEEKEND!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying probably will turn out to be the best weekend of the summer.
Yesterday my bf and I embarked on a fishing journey, which ended up being the whole day. Didnt get much fishing in either, but did experience some of the most beautiful backroad scenry in Northern Ontario.
We drove for miles, stopping, looking and experiencing the beauty of this place. I said to him as we drove, "you know we could spend the rest of our lives driving around this province and never see it all, I dont know why people leave.
We took lots of pictures, and me, harping on him that his camera battery better be charged, parked myself in the drivers seat and when we stopped to take our first picture of the day, noticed that I was the one who needed their battery charged..jeez I spent the whole journey with 5% battery power, but still managed to get a few good shots. Anyway I hope you enjoy a picture beauty posting of our journey.

Ok so my computer is really making me angry....either that or DA. It takes me forever and ever to reply to any comments or favs!!!There for I have 489 mssgs in my inbox that I cannot answer.........uggg!!!!
I feel bad, that ppl are taking the time to peek at my photos, AND I CANT THANK THEM!!!!
I need to reformat, or buy a new hard drive....so needless to say these people must think im some kind of lazy ass, who doesnt take them time to answer...not true.

. I have tried to keep up, but somtimes that is nearly impossible. My DA Subscription runs out in 5 days...but I want to say it was neat to have and somewhat of a challange making my way through it. Maybe I will try to get my own next time....or maybe I will win one again!!!! So it will be back to a boring page...oh well im grateful to my subscriber for allowing me to have the opportunity.
My daughter is doing well over there in Indonesia, a bit of a culture shock for her, but she is strong and will adjust.

When I awoke this morning, I learned my Becky had arrived safely in Indonesia...whew, having days when you dont hear from them is stressful. She texted me from Taipei, saying she had landed safely, its amazing that you can talk to your kids from where ever they are. In any event I am sure they are exhausted.
I know that they will have the time of their lives...so many amazing adventures are ahead of for them.
Did I mention, that they will be teaching english to children over there.
Keep them in your prayers....and thoughts.

Its Monday, the day my eldest daughter Becky, leaves for Indonesia. Its a strange feeling to have your daughter go so far away for so long. I will miss her terribly. I know she is following her dream to travel the world, and I know she will be ok. Im going to the airport to see her off, tears will be a flowing!!!
She is gonna teach English over there, a good soul, with many things to offer the world. Be safe, my child, and I love you to the ends of the earth

Im back...from a wonderful time in Indy...Bloomington to be exact. It was wonderful to see my friends from so long ago. Thanks for takig the time to check out my little collage of photos, didnt want to bore you with a whole bunch of them!!!! Drum Corps is a fantastic Music program for youth. It gives you the opportunity to travel, and learn much about yourself. It was a very big part of what made me who I am today. Almost every state in America has 1 or maybe even 2 drum corps operating. If you ever get the change...go out and support your local team!!!
Enough of that, while i was away my message boxes filled up and over, and I would like to say I am trying to respond to each and everyone and read through each of your journals...If i dont make it...I just want you to know that I appreciate your taking the time to check out my photos, and comment and fav, I really do, and Im sorry if i dont get back to you, but know that every fav is a bright spot in my heart.
My sub runs out at the end of this month, and I am grateful to my friend for subscribing me.. It was a great opportunity to explore the BIGGER side of DA. But soon I will be back to the regular DA, which to, will be just fine.

Well it here...I finally get to go on a mini vacation...tommorrow night I leave for Indiana...now most of you wont know why or what it is that im going for...but every year Drum Corp International (DCI) has its final show...its a HUGE event with corps from all over the world competing for top honours. I havnt been in 17 years, so it should be a blast, seeing all those folks i havnt seen for years, parting, shopping, and of course cheap booze!!! I will have lots of pics, so when I return I will post some so you guys will know what Im talking about....Have a great weekend.

GOOD DAY ALL!!!

FIRST OFF...I want to take the time to THANK YOU ALL, for the comments, the favs, and the views, I just cant seem to keep up, but will try to get to each of you personally.

Its hot and humid here today, yuk, but I am going to try to get out to the Ospreys. I know I have inidated my gallery with shots of them, but to me they are amazing birds. They have young ones, now, 3, that are ready to fly. We have watched them for the past few days, as Momma teaches them to spread their wings and get ready to leave the nest. I am hoping to capture this wonderous event this weekend. I will try not to get to close this time, for fear of my life LOL, i got to close the other day and pappa, was none to happy, and I to say the least crapped my pants, and ran for my life!!!
