They are a very community based band.. and so for the exhibition, we have chosen to take 1000 portraits!

People from the community, young and old.

So starting this weekend, I will be out and about scouting out faces for this celebration of people.

Got most of my work done... an extension on my essay... just have to hand everything in
quite happy with the work from this semester!

From now until july i will be a free-ish woman
Not re-enrolling til semester 2... so hopefully i will be working an extra day or so at stallards... and doing more Caught A Glimpse stuff..

My plan is also to have atleast one day a fortnight where i work for a professional photographer... to gain experience in the work that i want to do

So hopefully i can do something like that!

Got 2 photography courses going atm...
1- Intro to photography - BW Film
2- Advanced Black and white Photography- digital

Weird huh..

Its MAKING me use only black and white.. which i am actually finding a struggle!
I want colour....

i feel so emo..

New self-portraits for my intro to photography assignment are looking a bit emo too.
its my first idea... going for the "Body Image"... typical girl thing to do..

Got a few more ideas on the way.. and if the weather is nicer tomorrow.. u will see some proof of this.

working 3 days a week selling cameras and stuff...
and working for the local paper 2 nites a week taking photos..

starting to take its toll

I have RSI in my right hand... which has flaired up coz i take too many photos!! hahaha
Going to the DR in30mins to make sure it isnt anything worse like Carpel Tunnel or anything...

personally find it quite amusing that i got an injury just from holding a camera...

but then again... my new set up (d300 and flash) weigh alot more than a little d40x..

oh well...

I did the funniest assignment the other week at uni... we got told to take 20 photos of a group of things...

eg: 20ppl you;ve never met before
- 20 of your favourite dresses
-20 yucky foods
-20 of ur fav foods



i chose to do my favourite food...
corn... i dont know what it is about that yellow stuff, but its in all my favourite things so i did a project of 20 photos of corn!!!

(in black and white.. coz thats the class im in)

class and teacher laughed .... it was quite amusing.. but i think i did quite well..
mite pop a few of them on DA if anyone is interested

i did a training day with harvey norman to be a cashier there.. and wasnt sure if i had that job.. or the picture framing job with john temple the photographer.

so i rang john out of courtesy to ask if i could put off signing any traineeship contracts until i figure out whats going on and what would be the best job etc..
and he goes

" well i hope the job goes well" and hung up on me!

sorta glad all this happened.. coz i wouldnt have wanted to work with someone like that for 18 months!!


oh well..

if any one in the launceston area knows of any sweeet jobs going.. let me know
