So I'm awake. And its 5:28 AM.

Knowing me I'll be hyper at work, and then dead afterwards...which...I'm supposed to go visit my cousins who just 'popped into terrace'....I got a call earlier today saying they were in town...if they'd given some warning we could've possibly arranged something....buuuuuuut yeah....my relatives have a habit of doing that, they come and go without telling people...well...I guess that extends to the whole family XD now I know where I get it from heh.

Also...I just finished writing a christmas letter that I should've written like...waaaay back when I first recieved the letter from my host parents in germany...yeah...procrastination FTL!! So I finished writing that, and I'll send it off probably either tomorrow or wednesday...whenever I can get off my sorry rear and get downtown >

Kitty got me >_<

Nova's cat Koji got me pretty good....the scrape goes from about a centimeter under my first knuckle, wraps around and goes up past where the knuckle bends on the same finger. all in all the scratch is about 1- 1.25 inches in length and it cut over the veins in my finger...so a) it bled like an S.O.B. and b) I'm gonna have to have it bandaged or splinted for at least a week until it heals...because its that deep and if I bend my knuckle it will split it open.

Gawds I hate that cat's claws >_< Unfortunately can't cut his claws because the cuticle hasn't receeded from some of the claws...and it hurts the cat when you cut that...so have to wait another bit before we can do that...and I refuse to get cats de-clawed. It's just cruel in my opinion...especially if they accidently end up outside (even if you're super careful)

Sooooo.....yeah. No art, at least no decent art from me until my finger heals...maybe I'll write some poetry or something, who knows. Or I could work on one of my billion and a half stories that I can never seem to finish XD

It's probably a toss up between kukri and Mitei, I used to draw Mitei so much when I first started drawing, I think they're about even now.

head gets sketched and mildly detailed, then I start the body with circles, sometimes I do the stick-figure...it depends on what im goin for

kieros/tyron/any boy character I have. especiall if im in a bad mood.

▶ Which of your works took the longest time?
hmmmm.....traditional art would have to be a tie between [link] and [link]

▶ What techniques do you use when you want to improve in drawing?
in all honesty, an this is a bad thing to admit....I copy their style and half the picture. I do. I take the part I like about their artwork, and copy it until I've managed to satisfactorily merge it with my style, and twisted it enough so that it is relatively original and done my own way. I do this with anime's and manga's too.


▶ What art tools/media are you good with?
mech pencils, non-mech pencils, inking pens sizes 0.1-0.5, coloure pencils which I haven't used in ages and have probably forgotten how to properly use. And a bit of paintshop and photoshop. And good ol paint/watercolour (traditional style of course)

▶ Art tools/media you are bad at?
Painter 9 and Illustrator 10....ugg I'm horrid at those.

▶ What do you think about your own art?
I like it most of the time when I'm finished with it....depends on the picture...but I'm one of those strange people who likes their old art soooo much. I see so much in my old art that I've just kind of....lost. I don't know if its from all the stress I've been under the last couple years or if I've just lost the creativity bug. Everyonce in a while I'll pull something miraculous out of my head, like my Muse picture or the one big one I did of my character kukri I stll have to frame, and I mean, I'm getting more compliments from my mom on my artwork, she's not all 'you shouldn't be drawing' anymore...I just....I dunno...I've lost the drive. Blah thi is turning into a rant XD

▶ Do you consult magazines for your drawings?
Yes. Especially for paint/watercolour I also have a huge number of reference books that I've built up through the years....still need about ten more before I'll consider my collection complete.

▶ What do you like about your art?
uhhhh................I think I like the fact that the simplest thing can inspire me. Like a song, poem, picture, or just a random feeling that's popped into my head. and the fact that even if im in an art block, I can still doodle (For me thats an artblock) I just can't complete a picture.

▶ What habits do you have while drawing?
I need background noise, I listen to music non-stop, especially emotional stuff, and also I've started getting into classical music more...as for habits....well...don't you dare look over my shoulder without premission! I've literally slapped my brother from him looking over my shoulder.

▶ Are you good at drawing faces facing right?
yeah I'm not bad drawing faces that look right, I just can't do profiles to save my friggin life!

▶ How frequently do you draw?
when I get the time, which, sometimes, is maybe 5-10 minutes at work, but I try and draw at least once a day, since it is my stress relief. XD

▶ What do you do when you have artist's block?
I sketch, play WoW, write more paragraphs in my 5+ novels that I work on when I get artist block, scream my head off and listen to music. Not necesarrily all of them and not necesarily in that order.

▶ What must you have when you draw?
Music, Milk/tea/pepsi and I need the temperature to remain constant....which is hard when you liv in a trailer. Not to mention how high we keep the f$%@!&# heat.

ugg...nothing like a whole bunch of night shifts to screw up your week. I hardly know up from down and I've forgotten to go into town twice now.

Must remember to do so as soon as I get paid....which should hopefully be thursday...then go into town friday and pay my visa bill from fixing my computer >_<

Well I guess our household was just too well adjusted you know. It wasn't enough that we had two cats. we had to get a dog now too. My cat is going ballistic, though my roommate never sees that. And the dog is whining under my feet right now.

My cat is less than pleased. And I am too because we've had the dog since yesterday and already I've had to take it out for a walk and clean up the mess on the floor....Nova didn't let the dog out for a few minutes before going to work.

*sigh* She doesn't realize that a dog is way more work than a cat. On the bright side I think I'll be giving it more walks...so at least I'll get more active. However Nova is going to have to figure out if she can handle a puppy or not.

As the title says....I need kevlar armour, full body suit so that nothing, not even my face, is showing. The cats had fleas and I finally decided to give them a bath. Needless to say that ended with me having a fair nick on my chin that bled like a sonofagun and two shallow ones on my arm.

This is after putting on 1 sweater, 1 jean shirt, 1 long trench coat-like jean jacket (teh-riat knows which one, she gave it to me ^_^ ) a pair of jeans, another pair of baggy pants overtop, and two pairs of gloves. Now all I needed was a steel/leather face mask and I would've been set. But OHMYGAWDWASTHATPAINFUL.

My poor kitties. Trying to get mine into the bath is like trying to pull teeth without using novocain. Not gonna happen. Managed to corner her with a wet towel, get her wet, use the shampoo, and then pour water over her while she was on a towel. the bathroom floor and all the stuff on it is soaked. And now comes the fun part of completely washing everything with hot water and hoping like hell it cleans it all up. I need to vaccuum the house, clean all bedding, and buy a new pillow. And I work from 8:30 to 4:30 tomorrow. Urrg. I'll be going till midnight cleaning all the bedding. only got about 3 hours left blah.

I have my computer in all its speedy pentium 4 goodness! I still have lots of updates to run but I loooooooove it! Flat panel monitor and everthing else XD.

However now I've discovered that the new soundcard does not work. Not too big a deal since the onboard sound for the Motherboard works since its a new motherboard but still...thats like 35 bucks if can't get it to work properly.

*EDIT* I fixed it....He forgot to set the in and out sound settings to the installed hardware instead of the default. Go me!!! Sounds so much better than onboard sound and I only have two crappy speakers XD

So ya I have my computer. now all I need to do is hook up the scanner and away I go! So there shall be new art tomorrow...but for now I need to do all my updates for WoW, reset my bios clock, and then head off to 's for some RP goodness.


Oh and a side note: I'll be getting full time mornings at my job within the next 2-3 weeks so I'll be a busy girl XD Mornings can be so boring so I'll probably have my sketchbook to keep me occupied in the mornings if there's no cleaning to be done.

Huzzah!

I now have a new motherboard and a new processor...Pentium 4 babeeeeeeee!!!!!! 220 bucks for the processor and motherboard...Im pleased as punch with my purchases...now I just have to get around to sanding down my tower and figuring out where im going to spray paint the bloody thing. I'm tempted to say screw it and just put the bloody thing together so I have my computer back...I can spray paint it later XD

My Video/Graphics card worked perfectly fine. Great.

I either need a new processor or a new Motherboard. I'm tempted to blow the extra money and get both for about 200 bucks off vibecomputers....which by the way is an awesome site for getting computer parts, at decent cost, and shipped very very VERY quickly. My video card arrived about 2-4 days ahead of schedule...even after having some hiccups with the billing address. So I'll probably be ordering a new Motherboard and a new Processor off them very soon.


So I'm not happy at all. By the time all is said and done I'll have spent over 1000 dollars on my computer...money I could've either saved...or spent on a new tablet. But instead im using that money to fix my computer so I can have a working one. Ah well....that's the way its gotta be I guess.


No new artwork, but I've started an interesting new RP so there should be some sketches from that..but only once I get my computer fixed. Maaaybe by the end of next week I'll have it back.

In my previous journal, I'd mentioned my Internal temp reading for my computer was approx 95-115 degrees celcius...and listed how much I've replaced. The fan is replaced. That was a sucess. Now as for what's next? New Video/graphics card. Mine got fried apparently. So now I have one coming up, a decent one, and instead of 290 it only cost me 212 with all shipping and stuff. Huuuuuge savings! Many thanks to Vikai for finding that for me. So hopfully once that comes in then I'll be able to play on my computer again. Using Nova's is starting to get on my nerves, and hurt my wrists, since she has a regular keyboard and I need one of those neat curved ones. Not the ones with the fully separated halves of the keyboard (tho that would've been nice I cant affor them) but the ones with a curve in the middle that makes it easier for me to type. My poor wrists are dieing using this standard issue keyboard.

And I have Myst IV - Revelations! Can't wait to play it on my computer with my new 512meg vid card! XD (been running a 128 or 256 for the last year or so...forget which one but not as good as a 512!!!) so Im just a weeee bit excited.

No new art either...had two mini breakdowns in the last couple days so I really havent been drawing.

You know there are things seriously wrong with your computer when the internal temperature monitor is clocking your comp at 95-100 degrees celcius. I came within an inch of having a major motherboard meltdown...and that would've totally been un-cool. As it stands tho I've now replaced the sound card, the harddrive, the monitor, keyboard, mouse and now the internal fan for the motherboard. What's next?

On a side note...having no computer is giving me much time to draw and do other fun things. Just finished watching RENT...gawds I love that movie...never fails to make me bawl my eyes out tho!
Ah well. That's just the way it goes some days. I picked that movie up today, I finally own it! And I also managed to pick up The Dead Poets Society. I loved that movie. I've started buying movies now...since I have like...none! My roommate has all the movies...I need to start a piggy bank and put change in it and buy a movie every once in a while. I still need to buy Memoirs of a Geisha...my roommate bought it but I want to own it. Such an awesome movie! There are others I want but they'll have to wait. Because I still have a bloody couch to pay off ^_^

We'd (Nova and I) had to put down a 250 dollar security deposit, and they took november/december's amount off that 250 dollar deposit...so we still have 137 dollars in credit for PNG...so we won't have to pay january/february either! it's a huge amount of awesome.
And yeah...that was my christmas.

Part of the $$$ I got will be going toward the following:

- Paying for the couch ($100)
- New computer monitor (flatscreen 20'' here I come!) ($250-ish...may need to use some of my saved money to pay for it but I waaaaaaaaant it) I need more desk space, and my monitor is huuuge....screenwise and lengthwise. its a major anchor. screen colour is awesome but it takes up a good 2/4 of my desk. my tower takes up about 1/4 of my desk, and.....yeah. little room. I need a keyboard tray installed in my desk.

Ah well now im rambling.

Oh and on a side note..Nova may be getting a puppy...if our landlady lets us have one. I pity the poor puppy....the cat's will go nuts.

Ahhh.....nothing like christmas chai tea ^_^ Oly comes out once a year so I always stock up ^_~

Got our christmas tree up, nova and I, and its still standing...so thats 2 days running now. For those of you who have no idea what I mean...we have two psycho cats. Kokiru was eating it last night...but stopped once she hacked up some of the pieces, and Coji got smacked enough that he knows to only sleep under the tree...not eat it.

Caught both cats under the tree, if I could've gotten a good shot that would be my christmas card...but I gotta get them both under the tree and facing me. thats hard with those cats XD.

Ah well thats all. Off to work for me X_x

OMG DDR! XD Nova and I bought DDR...an it is sooooo much fun, but tough! I'm getting into the higher levels and the challenges are hard to beat. Nova has trouble doing it because of her ankles, but all we have to do is get another game pad and then turn off the jumps and weird steps and we're good to go

Well I uploaded the coloured version of one of my older pics...I finished it last night and despite the weird colour scheme it looks spiffy. I was going to do all gold/tan/orange but the blueanpurplejustsnuckitselfinthereyoukno w....>_>

So its spiffy. SCA is cool...I shall be going to several feasts and festivities in the next year because I can. And I will hopefully be learning to shoot archery as well as dabble in a number of different things.

Other than that nothing to report besides the fact that its @$!#$$%^#%^&@$%^!%%^ cold in my trailer.....freeeeeeezing cold. Glad I have the heater. My roommate is in Fresno so she doesn't have to worry but its gettin chilly at night, andeven during the day.

But it is done, and a note has been sent entering it in Muse contest. There is some neat artwork and depictions of muses, even if you dont enter its definitely worth taking a look ^_^

Tortured memories. Thought its hardly that...lol...I coulodn't quite come up with a god title for it...figured that fit well enough for now.

It Is FINISHED!!!

The story I'vebeen wrting since last year...I finally finished it. Wow. 11 chapters...not all of them well written, some a bit rushed. There was more I wanted to add, but it came out the way I wanted it to. the beginning was the way I wanted, the ending was the way I wanted, albeit poorly written right now because I just got sick of it
But it is done...I can claim I've finished one book. Now on to the next one the characters change around tho...so I hsould hopefully be a little more interested in it. I'm probably going to write about Skye and Absinthe next ^_^ But I've also gotten out of my drawing block! It was a combination of those sketch trades/trades (of which I justneed to fix the scanner lol) and the completion of my story...that finally kicked me ^_^ because I have nothing else to work oin...so once I get the scanner workin,,..stuff shall be uploaded!!!

Now to go get ready for work >_<

for those who are having a hard time believing I make what I do as a gas station attendant....here's my schedule for the next week. (This is also why I can never get any art done x_X )

Friday - 10-6 8hrs
saturday 12:30-6:30 6hrs
Sunday 12:30-6:30 6 hrs
Monday 12:30-6:30 6 hrs
tuesday 10-5 7 hrs
wednesday 10-5 7hrs
thursday 10-5 7 hrs

total: 47 hrs translates to $376....which in turn if you multiply that by 4....you get my general amount a month >_< almost....usualy is around 1050 or so a month before taxes now O_o blahhhh...and the rest of my time is taken up looking after the house, cooking since my roommate works later than I do most days. blahhhhh

I do...and I love my boss as well :3 She's going to be doing volunteer work for a year ^_^ and my other co-worker is going to stay at her other job and just help us out on weekends and such (woots) so you know what that means??? it means I a) get 132 hours in a month, which translates into 1056 bucks...before taxes and deductions...which means my paychecks are in the venue of around 950 bucks a month.

And the more kickass bonus.....I will have benefits by the end of next month. So my dental, glasses, and some of any doc appts I need...are covered to a certain extent. *Cheer*

I love my job, though its not a glamourous one :3 I love what I do so yahoo...I'm just gonna take it and ruuuuuuun ^_^

Scanner works! took a 206 meg download to get it working but it works so I can now start uploading more pics yay!!

So moving into the new place in like...two days...im psyched...since my parents dont know. They think I'm movin in with ...but plans changed and they need the spare room that I would occupy so I snagged a good friend of mine who'd been looking for a roommate and we managed to get a nice 2-bedroom trailer. My room is a little small....Nova needs the space more than I do though...she has more stuff lol. I can fit all my posessions into my car....and still be able to see out the back and drive (minus the furniture mind you lol) so yeah.
Now if you'll excuse me I have to go and see if I can do something with this hair of mine (ya...right)

2) I do random scribbles across a piece of paper....because I can

4) I usually start with the face when drawing, though sometimes I do sketch everything out. if I dont like a face...I scrap the whole picture.
5) I cant do bgs and it bugs the heck outta me
6) same wth cg....I can sorta colou but cant draw on the comp and I hate that.
7) I go for months on end without drawing anything then suddenly come out with a fully painted/coloured pic....I scare myself sometimes.

in other news it seems my artblock was broken through an unexpected source...the desire to do fanart of Elfquest. Oh my god....elfquest. love those comics! they're old....like 1993 old, but omg they're good...the artwork is incredible, and the storyline well done and thought out. Friend of mine, actually my almost-roommate (still house-sitting) would be 's finacee Nadine, she has the books, and I looooooove them. so....I'm relatively outta my artblock. Just need to keep drawing. I also need to figure out if im painting my room or not. it's a little late because I got furniture in there now but its called shove it away from the wall, paint, shut the door, three days later tadaaa! fresh painted room.

OMG!!! I HAVE A KITTEN!

She's soooooo cute! ^_^ and his fiancee got her for me, as a thankyou for helping them move this past week, I was over every day, helping, and making sure that Dao didn't just go %^&$#@! and chuck everything out while Nadine was in Vancouver. She is such a looney though!!! For those of you who know about warcraft...think of a gnome mage. She's tiny, hyper, cute, and goes ZOOMZOOM!!! She's quick. She's almost completely black except for a stripe on her tummy and a tiny bit on her chest. But overall its like "OMG KITTY!" because at 20 years of age I finally have my own pet. And I love it!

Yes I'm hyper. But other than that nothing too new. gotta get my car fixed and I need to get contacts. may also need to go to a doctor to see about my hand, I have no strength in it and it hurts to even type. Hopefully it solves itself soon. It may just be a strained muscle from all the lifting and moving I had to do this past week. I put in four shifts at work, then had a wedding, was helping move even after work, after 8 hours on my feet I'd come over and move stuff up until 1-2 in the morning. bah it was tough. but now they're all moved in, I have a kitty, and we just have to organize the place before I have to move my crap in. So its all good!

Well I've reached 100 bonified deviations...I should draw a picture to celebrate!

well....maybe. Knowing me I'll procrastinate till I hit 200 deviations, then 300, then 400, etc you get the idea.

Looking through some of my old art...and wow! have I ever improved! I've been digging through it for ideas, and am tempted to take one and just re-draw it in my current style/level of drawing just to see how far I've progressed.

And I get two days off next week instead of five! WOOT!!! its only a 12-5 shift from tues-thurs but still! thats an extra 15 hours on my paycheck!!!! And yes its a big deal when you're used to getting a grand total of about 40 hours in a month....roughly 400 bucks or so

so like...I get 104 hours this month...much more than I usually get! And much more than I ever got at Save-on, thats for sure! Soooooo happy!!

yes Ima dork and I'll be quiet now!!!

well ended up that I'm house sittin!

I have this big trailer to myself, big yard too...and the cutest cat evar! <_<

He's a silver tabby calico mix I think...he's got the silver tabby on his back and sides and is calico on his tummy and up the sides of his legs...he's sooooo cute and soooo affectionate!! I love him. His name i whiskers....thats the only thing I dont like >_>

As for art....I have a kitchen table now...so I actually have a table I can draw at! as well as a table to eat at...so I have the best of both worlds!! woots!

The only problem: No microwave. Nope. None. So there goes most of my frozen food >_< I shall have to learn how to steam veggies! good thing they have a steamer,....and I have a slow cooker too...so I can stick it on in da mornin and have food for teh afternoon! gotta go dig out my recipe books and see what I can come up with...will be much fun!!

And Im happy I have teh internet...was lookin for a bit like I'd be stuck without it but I have it now! so I'm all good.

Yahooo! I get to house sit for 2 months starting on the 18th! upside...I live alone! I have internet! and I get to look after a KITTY!!! He's a gorgeous silver tabby...omg he's such a cutie. And I also get fresh tomatoes, zucchini, lettuce, rasberries, strawberries, blackberries and zomg FRESH HERBS!!!! It's like...a cooks dream! All I have to do is keep em all alive >_> <_< ^_^ Which shouldn't be too hard I hope.....

Life is GOOD! Have bryce 5 and 5.5, have poser, have corel draw, have adobe CS, have Adobe illustrator and have Acoustica!!! Igets to mix music....and the place im housesitting has a keyboard! I can practice my keyboarding again woots!

Other than that not much goin on...expect some art and or poems from me soon...since I'm feeling relatively inspired.

OMG!!

I have Poser 6! OMG!

lol sorry...couldn't help it. Poser is an awesome program, even if you aren't into doing digital, because the pose referencing is AMAZING!!! there are pre-arranged poses and you can also move everything aroun for custom ones!! It's a very difficult involved program...so tutorials are a must. I finally learned how to render hair...though the actual application of hair leaves much to be desired...but I can get more than one figure in the picture and I can have them sit together without a problem. Woots!

I had worked monday and tuesday as well...so my first day off is saturday. and after sunday...back to Chevron I goooooooo! Woots!
