Anyways... Anime Weekend Atlanta!

... was kind of fail... I spent all of the day before AWA struggling to get my May cosplay from Guilty Gear done... I did finish the outfit, but parts of it were very ghetto... AND... I didn't finish the anchor, which is ultimate FAIL. But! I plan on spending time to get it completed and nice in time for MegaCon 2010.

We arrived kind of late on Friday, so we ended up not cosplaying. But it was nice to get there and relax. Saturday was Guilty Gear - and our group was pretty sexy. ;) We entered the costume contest - our first time ever! Needless to say, we didn't win anything, but it was fun just trying. :) But it took forever for us to get through judging because our outfits would keep breaking and then we'd have to wait for someone to go to a hotel room to get it fixed...

Sunday me and ~dualtsumi were once again Rin & Len from Vocaloid. We also had a mini-Vocaloid meet with a Kaito, Miku, Akaito.

I had a lot of fun @ AWA just going about my business - nothing too intense this year. :) Got to say hello to all the Georgians I know and only get to see twice a year at best. :)

On a some-what spur of the moment - I took a trip home to South Florida to run a few errands - and now I will be going to Animation SuperCon this weekend and will be in Artist Alley. Anime Weekend Atlanta

Well, I suppose me and the gang are starting to realize AWA is coming up soon and slowly getting our gears cranking. I myself have just started working on my outfit for our group this year. Our plans are... Guilty Gear! That's right! I will be cosplaying May - the anchor-wielding pirate. :) Our other group members are at least a Millia, Jam, Baiken, Bridget, and maybe a Faust, I-no, and Robo Ky. :P

So, at this time that's the only costume planned for AWA, the other 2 will be decided some time later, but they shouldn't be anything new... I'm suspecting from myself either Anya, Haseo, or Kagamine Rin. :)

FANIME THURSDAY

Didn't sleep a wink before heading out to the airport at 7:30 AM! Left at 9:40 from the Ft. Lauderdale airport and after a very long 2 flights, made it into San Jose Airport where ~angelpeipei was waiting for me. Called ~dualtsumi and his parents pulled up and picked us up.

After that, went to check in at the Marriot and then afterwards went to eat. It was... some Filipino fried chicked place that was super super delicious. Super crispy chicken skin. :heart: OH. And met the boyfriend's parents / relatives for the first time... I was sooo scared, but they were very nice people. I hope I made an alright impression. DX

Anyways, Thursday was spent doing tourist-y things. But it was SO COLD. HOLY MOLY CALI IS COLD. X____X We took a stop at Japan town, even though most things were closed. Bought a very cute hedgehog bento box with a pair of chopsticks for cheap. =w= We tried making it to the Golden Gate bridge... but it was so cold and foggy that we didn't actually see anything... took a trip to... a downtown area with very tall buildings. Ehe. Went to an actual Macy's department store... the kind that have like, floors of clothing! That was about it for Thursday. Exhausted and jet-lagged, went to sleep.

Pre-emptive Strike : EXP Con

Went to a one day con in St. Augustine a few Saturday's ago - it's a one day thing hosted by EXP Con. Really went to just try-out for the Fairy Tale theatre from AnimeBelle for MetroCon. The con itself was super super small (the size of a hallway, lol). At first I was really scared that it was going to be a huge bore - worse than MizuCon... But not too long after we arrived, ~WingedInfinity, Miki, showed up. :) Miki, you looked super gorgeous is your dress! :)

The try-out wasn't terrible - fill out some paperwork and then show them my (lack of) acting prowess. =w=;;

Afterwards we just ended up hanging out the rest of the time. It was me, Pei (~angelpeipei), Yan (~dualtsumi), and Miki (~WingedInfinity). Went out to grab some food and ended up driving all around until we ended up at Dick's Wings - which had the most amazing assortment of wing sauces. XD Super delicious.

There was a fashion show going on at the convention center. Got some really interesting looks from all those posh fashionistas. XD Had to convince my roommate not to adopt a cat... ha ha. Ended up changing in Hitsugaya Toushirou in the evening, with Yan wearing Aizen Sousuke (Shinigami). Got our pictures taken by ~vicorp, can't wait to see them. :P
Met with con chair Rayne - he's a really funny guy. XD Ended up playing Anime Jeopardy - which was really fun, but Rayne was sooo fast at naming things, esp. when it deals with shoujo, ha ha. But the focus on American anime made it kind of hard since I mainly focus on Japan. The American VA section totally had me lost. XD

Also watched a lot of FFXIII trailers and demos... omg that game is going to rock! I'm so glad I already have a PS3. =w=

Ended up leaving around 11 to head back home down these really scary dark back-roads. x w x

MOVING BACK TO MEGACON

Idiot us, we didn't check the weather either day, and both days were reallyyyy cold, so wearing little to nothing hurt... Saturday it was me, ~angelpeipei, ~dualtsumi, ~marourin, Toya, Mike, and Lin. Sunday it was me, pei, tsumi, and marourin.

Saturday was very crowded... because we had a large group, it was slow moving through the dealer's room because for some reason we tried staying somewhat together. There was really no panels that any of us wanted to attend this year, the only panel we did was the costume contest, which was nice, but long... we ended up having to leave around halfway in to get home. Too bad the announcer for the contest butchered about 90% of the series titles / character names. But! I did get some nice souveniers~ Got my new Nendoroid figurine: Haruhi Suzumiya! She's super adorable, soft, colorful... and taking the head apart took me and the bf about 2 hours of slow prying to open up for the first time. V____V And, I got the adorable SEGA Kagamine Rin figurine! I love Nendoroids, can't help but keep collecting! >A<

Sunday, we went back because we figured there was little else to do that weekend... honestly, we didn't buy any tickets in for that day because we were too broke to shell out another $35... so near the end of the day we got some ((used)) armbands and entered the dealer's room at the end. Pei met some nice Geass cosplayers and got some pictures, otherwise we just kind of hung around the entire convention not doing much.

MegaCon is my first con, and this makes my 5th one, but the lack of anime-related things makes this con a little on the bottom of my fave con list... The steep price for the venue and guests also hurts. At least it's close.

Spring Break

Nearly right after MegaCon was my one week spring break. I hope everyone had an exciting Christmas! Mine was very very... relaxed. Didn't get anything exciting for Christmas, just some t-shirts and jeans. But I did already get the okay for Fanime, so that in itself was the best Christmas present! :) Trying to convince all my friends to fly to Cali to attend with me! :P Otherwise, I did manage to get my dad to take me on a shopping trip to GameStop. Unfortunately 2 of the games I really wanted... they didn't have. (I wanted Guitar Hero 1 & 2 Dual Pack and DDR Extreme 2). But I did manage to buy myself .hack//Outbreak, .hack//GU Rebirth, Myst III, and Odin Sphere. :) Outbreak was really the only game that I needed though. So that was good.

MizuCon!

Let me just say... worst con ever. This is the type of small con you have to MAKE the fun happen... I have seen free cons way bigger than this con. We bought tickets for 2 days, Saturday and Sunday... what a waste of f$35... The con was December 27-29th... a Saturday to Monday. First of all, because it was right after Christmas, there was hardly anyone at the con. And in fact, the con was pretty much about as big as my living room, ha ha ha. They had a dealer's room, a row of Artist Alley, 1 panel room, 1 main events, 2 anime rooms, and a game room.

Me and ~angelpeipei were the ones attending, as usual. Arrived around noon on Saturday, with Pei's friend John also. Except this was John's first con, and the entire convention we were appologizing for how crappy the con was and trying to explain that cons weren't at all like this one... ugh.

We did cosplay, of course. On Saturday I went as Allen Walker and ~angelpeipei went as CC. On Sunday I went as Hitsugaya Toushirou.

We only really attended one panel on Sunday... a BJD panel... and it was extremely disappointing when the ONLY people to show up was myself and ~angelpeipei. The 2 of us just sat huddled around the girl giving the panel and chatting about dolls for 45 minutes...

I have never seen a more dead convention in all the time I've been to cons. Absolutely horrendous.

But, I did get to see some people that I recognize from other conventions we've been to. It seems this con was mainly just regular con-attendees.

Got to see ~kinushi as Kadaj and Soubi and ~KurohaneShizumi as Yazoo and Ritsuka. Their cosplay is always so absolutely amazing! I really wish I could have sat and chatted with them a bit. T____T

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all my dear friends on DA! I had a delicious Turkey day with the works... turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, etc. It was delicious... and I got into the left-overs really quick. :3

I brought my boyfriend home with me for him to meet the parents. They hadn't met him yet, and he was just going to sit in Gainesville by himself, so I abducted him. So far, no mishaps, I think my parents like him. n_n

But I just wanted to say... I'm really so thankful! Thankful for my loving parents, for my wonderful boyfriend, and my awesome friends! All the wonderful people I've met on DeviantArt... people who share similar interests... people who cosplay... people who have just left a nice comment and brightened my day... Thank you!!! My life is sincerely blessed by all the people I've met. Happy holidays everyone.

The Week Before...


The week proceeding MetroCon was terrible. One of those weeks where you know your karma or ki or whatever is all screwed up and you're just going to have to face a crap week upcoming...

My parents left to go visit my grandparents in Iowa, leaving me alone to take care of our dog, Pepper. So it was about 5 days of me staying home alone. My dog is very old, I would wager about 17 years old. So being very old, she is very senile... and has to go to the bathroom every 3 to 4 hours. =__=

To sum everything up so as not to bore... while running out to grab some take-out food, I was filling up my car at a gas station. The pump was SUPER slow, and it took about 10 minutes for it to fill up... and then I hear a gurgling sound and gas is flowing out of the tank and all over the ground! O___O I quickly stop the pump and press the "Call for Help" button... and after about 2 minutes, realize no one is coming. =___= So I go inside, and this guy is trying to tell me things I can't understand. DX Pretty much I just pay the transaction and go on my way... and here I'm afraid to start the car in case it just decides to ignite the gas and explode. T____T And gas got on my toes and burnedddd, and it was all over my car... needless to say I'm not going back there again. :\

When I got home and was opening my take-out food... I CUT MY FINGER ON IT!!! DX It's one of those containers that has the foil bottom and clear plastic top that you have to crinkle the edges to keep it closed... I cut my finger really bad and it hurtttt~ Making it hard to eat with chopsticks... and then I got bbq sauce from the pork in it and it burneddddd~ So miserably I go to throw away my trash... and CUT MY TOE ON THE TRASHCAN! WTF!!! It's just a simple trashcan where you push the lever at the bottom to have the top come up! AND IT SQUEEZED MY TOE AND CUT IT!!! *CRIES BITTERLY*

On top of that... my wig did not make it in time for MetroCon. T____T I was bawling on Thursday... all that hard work into Rin and no wig! I seriously spent 2 hours with my dad in the scary ghettos looking for a wig... to get NOTHING... no one carries blonde wigs, go figure. T___T So in the end, I ended up using my Schrodinger wig... which really worked well now that I look back at it. >_< *sigh*

MetroCon was July 18 - 20 in Tampa!

Me and my roommate, ~angelpeipei cosplayed Kagamine Rin and Hatsune Miku, Vocaloid, for Saturday and Sunday!



In the end I was able to get it finished. =w= Except my headband + bow was really ghetto... and the bow never really stood up straight. DX

MetroCon Friday


So ~angelpeipei ended up picking me up around... 9 am? Like, 2 hours later than planned. ((YES! I'm holding you to your word! She says "I told you I was going to be there at 7:30... but really I planning on waking up at that time...)) *slaps*

ANYWAYS. So it's me, her, and her cousin Bin on a fun-derful road trip through Alligator Alley to Tampa. =w= But I was like... we're going the wrong way! Lol, turns out we weren't and I was being all retarded and directionly challenged. >_O The drive itself is fine and no problems. Until we get to Tampa and we're like... OMG, how do we get to Ashley St for our hotel!? DX Darn 1-way streets! And it's POURING rain. So we end up pit-stopping at this little bbq restaurant which ends up being... really fancy and has tasty food. XD

MetroCon + Cosplay


MetroCon is a week away! July 18-20 in Tampa! Anyone going?

Our planned cosplay is not fully decided, but Saturday me and ~angelpeipei will be going as Vocaloids: Miku Hatsune and Kagamine Ren. I will be Kagamine Ren! n_n

Kimono Fashion Show + Anime Idol


On Saturday I will also be modeling kimono @ Anime Belle's, [link] , kimono fashion show, 9 pm on Saturday. :D Modeling along with ze awesome Miki, ~WingedInfinity... who also made it into Anime Idol! FANIME: I had the biggest blast at Fanime!

Hmm, let's see... I arrived on Friday afternoon... after about 5 hours of plane flight... I left around 5:30 AM to get to the airport. From Ft. Lauderdale > Salt Lake City > San Jose.

Quickly changed into Schrodinger from Hellsing and went to the con~ :heart:

My first time going to a con all by my lonesome... I counted this is my 13th convention. :P

Not really by my lonesome, I had some friends from Florida also go to Fanime, but they were there mainly for the Antic Cafe concert. So that left me with convention to myself~ Made a lot of new awesome friends, Stephanie, Tonya, Jenny, Squishy... <3

But gosh California is sooo cold at evening time! Like... down in the 50's. I was so ill-prepared. >< Friday night around 10:30, me and :iconmerkymerx: and :iconbehindinfinity: went searching for food... and got soooo lost trying to find this "close-by" Japanese restaraunt, Rokko... which after like... 30+ minutes in the cold (I was wearing the shortest shorts I've ever worn. D: And Miguel pretty much was shirtless the entire con...) managed to find the place... which was so tasty. Had the bbq eel on rice~ <3 And they have really tasy tonkatsu sauce, Bulldog. XD

Anyways, Saturday I did Yachiru Kusajishi from Bleach~ Made it to the Bleach gathering, which was really big~ So lucky, I met the most awesome Kenpachi, who pretty much carried me all the way from the con center to the nearby park where the continued gathering was at. =w= Wanna thank Yukari, I think her name is, for organizing a smooth gathering~

The most amazing thing was when a wedding crashed our Bleach gathering, when a bride and groom and entire ensemble came over to us asking for a huge picture! So! Soul Society wedding! It was totally epic... like... everyone pointing their swords up in the air... sooo awesome. Lol.

Also, that night I dressed in my purple kimono and pink cat ears~ Which definately did not keep me warm in Cali. >< Went to see the Masquerade Cosplay Contest... there were some... kinda bad entries... but some good ones too... the Baccano! skit was awesome... and the Marvel vs. Capcom skit was also awesome. :3 Spent yet MORE time with *merkymerx and *behindinfinity looking for food... to find every restaurant closed... after walking pretty much within a half mile radius of the entire con center... went back to the Hilton and ate. =w= Tastiest bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato sandwich ever. =w= But argh, I couldn't stop *merkymerx from paying for the check! D: No worries... I THINK I have a way of re-paying him. >D

Sunday was my last day at the con, and dressed as Allen Walker from D.Gray-man, and went to the photoshoot. :P Talked to all kinds of awesome D.Gray-man cosplayers. And hung out with fellow Allen cosplayer, Stephanie, for the day. Was going to line up with my friends in the Antic Cafe line... but I don't think I could have sat still and away from the con for 4 hours... but it was okay, in the end, I don't think it mattered that I lined up at the end, only if I was trying to get in front of the stage in the pit. Hung out at the balcony for the concert, which was Amazing~~~ I didn't really know too much about Antic Cafe, except from what my friends told me. But the concert was a lot of fun, and An Cafe was a lot of fun to watch! So now I really like the song Cherry Saku Yuuki. =w= After a quick taxi ride to Jack-in-the-Box ((which has amazingggg tasting eggroll... ]]> ~chaos-shadow
