WATERMARKING/SIGNATURES

Many of you are painters or photographers who share your work online, and it makes good sense to sign/watermark your work so it can't be redistributed/used/altered without it being clear where it came from.

That's great, but everything you put in a picture has a visual weight, and having a GLARING RED NAME in a lovely cool composition literally ruins the experience. It's worth taking the time to pick a colour, size and style that will work WITH the image and not look like a blistering eyesore.

Neil Gaiman knows how to put a point. Nobody can make the art that you can make, but this immediately got me thinking. True to this, I've decided to play to my weakness once more and try my hand at watercolours.
There are some artists who blow me away with some of the things they can paint with watercolours, but that isn't my fight.
Watercolours work light->dark, which is reverse painting in my opinion.

Britain's Comic Book Alliance will publish Spirit of Hope this month - a stunning-looking anthology featuring work by almost 100 comic creators in aid of survivors of the Tsunami and earthquakes in Japan and New Zealand which happened earlier this year.

The anthology features 50 pieces of donated art from 92 top international creators in the comic book industry. The pieces are mainly sequentials or comic strips but there are also a few stunning single page pin ups.

The brain child of the Comic Book Alliance, it's hoped that with all proceeds being donated, the project can raise over £30,000.

Comics tow the line between TV and Novel, in that they tell serialised or self contained stories in static media, often in book form. The reason for my relative inactivity is that I'm working like a mofo. You are not your job. LIVE A LITTLE. OUTDOORS.
You are nowhere near good enough to be satisfied. Get drawing!
You are good enough to put work out there, there are more published, less talented people out there.

I'm a fan of stories. Films, games, comics, tv, its more to me than just pretty pictures. Story is the key- and everything else is subservient to that in my opinion.

Lads, you don't need the gimmicks. You're telling a good story. Tell it. Will Ferrell was good in the role, but having his name shoved down my throat in advertising kinda ruined the film for me.

Visually loved it, bar my personal reservations on some designs. That's not a professional dig, just a personal taste thing.

Characters were excellent, particularly Minion.

Storytelling was excellent. Didn't see the twists coming, and genuinely disliked who I was meant to.
