I am sorry for the delay in posting, it has been a busy month or two, (in good ways and not-as-great ways).  I finished up my Graduate classes for the semester in May, then finished up with my Undergraduate students (I am a Grad. Things have been crazy here, I finished my Graduate Assistantship for the semester in December, (I'm going to miss our students).  :(  After that I got a little break, (and actually decorated my house for the holidays... that hasn't happened in a LONG time)!

I have good news and not-so-good news.... the not-so-good news is that my workspace got flooded recently, the  I got the flu.  All of this on top of snow, snow and more snow, (which meant tons of snow days for my childrens' schools, i.e. less work time for me).  Due to these onslaught of winter not-so-goodness I have gotten farther behind than I like.

My favorite time of year is coming and, this year, I can finally enjoy it a little bit more since we moved the renaissance faire to May.  :)  I might actually be able to spend a little time with the kiddos and enjoy our anniversary also, (13 years on Samhain / Halloween).

This rearranging comes with another potential boon.  If all goes to plan I will be back at the bench almost full time for September, and maybe after that, also, if I can orchestrate it.  So, in theory, I will be able to fill more Halloween orders than I have been able to in years, knock on wood!

Just a quick note to let folks know that I am beating my way through my commissions.

These last few months have been tricky to navigate, as my husband swapped from working 3, 12 hr. days, to working 5, 8 hr. days... 1.5 hours from home.

Sorry I have been MIA for a bit, I have been busy with the renaissance faire that I founded; http://www.nhrenfaire.com and also with Free Comic Book Day.  That went well, on the whole.  I even got a photo of the creators of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in my horns... the whole lot of them!

So, that was fun.  I am now trying to line the faire up and then prepping for PortCon; http://www.portconmaine.com

Life is slowly getting back in order from post-ren. faire and post-Halloween orders.

I have been considering doing one or two more events this year, if I can get the help for them... that's a much trickier part than one might think!  Good salespeople are hard to find.

I got back from Virginia a couple of days ago and am getting everything as lined up as possible for the Samhain/Halloween onslaught.  It's a good kind on onslaught, just tricky to arrange.

My family and I are going down to Virginia to welcome my brother back home from Korea and to see he and his family's new home.  I usually wouldn't plan a trip during my busiest season but my parents offered to drive, (their RV), so it will be a much nicer trip than flying or driving in a minivan with way too many miles on it!

As some of you might have seen my mother just had back surgery and is slowly on the mend, knock on wood.  I have also started to watch 2 pipsqueaks that are the same age as my own so I have been doing a lot more cleaning and prepping and had less bench time for my art but the end will justify the means.  My kiddos get less peer interaction then I'd like, as far as play time goes, and these little guys get along well with mine.

As you might have seen already I did the shoot I have been trying to line up for a few weeks a couple of days ago. The weather up here is keeping everyone on our toes but, as we all agree, better snow than tornadoes!

I'd just like to take a second to thank M. and A., (my newest model), for coming over and modeling.  It was neat to have two similarly:colored, sized, hair typed ladies that are also friends so they were very comfortable being in close quarters, as one has to be for head shots like these!  :)

My little vacation/forced time off was just what the doctor, (and Mom), ordered!

I can breath again!  Yay!  I still have the normal ragweed/goldenrod allergy attack going on but it's *nothing* compared to the other yuckiness that was ensuing over the last 4 weeks!

So, thanks to you all for your patience and kind thoughts!  As you can see I am getting back into the swing of things, I have updated the XL horns' site: http://www.gypsyroses.org/XLargeHorns.html and have been making a few new designs and filling what orders I have.

I am prepping for the Halloween onslaught and am ready!  :)  (I say that now, of course, LOL).

I have been forced into a sabbatical by my multiple "scourges" that have made working virtually impossible.   I started with a sinus infection which was also an ear infection, then got a stomach virus, then an upper respiratory infection and some weird red eye nastiness in my right eye.  All of this was within the last 3-4 weeks.

Needless to say... I am not well.

With the Halloween rush starting already I'd like to remind people that I work, ideally, 4-6 weeks out.  Sometimes that's even hard to make, given that I am a one-woman business.

I am cutting back on custom molds and designs, right now, until I have caught up completely with all I have on my plate.  Once school's in session I was considering getting a job outside the home but may decide to just get coverage for myself so that I can have more bench time.
