Thanks everyone who replied to my last journal post.. haha I feel conceited. ^_^;;

It's getting warmer here in CO, today it was almost into the 70's (!!) which makes this little island girl very happy. =)

My comp caught a nasty virus a few weeks ago, but being the paranoid bugger I am I backed everything into a couple of CDs. I'm just not looking forward to having to reinstall everything again (scanner, imaging software, FTP clients, etc.)

I'm spending the first weekend of March in Denver playing soldier. Yee-haw.

I've cut the open slots for bust commissions because.. well, I'm getting hardly any. ^^ Five total, three taken, two open. I just hope I can get those filled before summer, lol.

For a long while now, nothing I ever sketched, inked, or colored seemed to turn out satisfactory and I ended up putting off a lot of projects because I didn't want to turn them into utter crap. Bleh, this resulted in the halting of quite a few commissions and art trades, but whoever is expecting them from me, please know I'm working on them again and am happy with how they are turning out this time. ;)

All the entries that have been written so far on my website guestbook have been erased and replaced with spam. Argh! >__<** It's been a while since I updated the site, mostly because all the gallery pieces can be found here on DA anyway. Will need to change that. ^_^; Currently working on remodeling it, and coming up with a spamless guestbook!

Well.. I know this is long overdue, but I'm opening cheap (?) commissions for a limited time. Any regular commissions I am doing or will do won't be put on the back burner, or even be affected at all. Besides, I like having different things to work on to prevent burnout and such. =3 So I'm continuing the tradition of the holiday bust shot commissions, long after the holidays are over!

- A full-colored chest-up shot of your character
- It will be colored digitally with a simple background
- 2000x2500 pixels maximum size, 300 dpi

Payment
- Each commission is $25 USD each
- You can add another character for an extra $15, two characters max on a commish

Started school yesterday, my first non military-provided class since high school. :heart: Which isn't too different because I'm taking them at Ft. Carson and my classmates are pretty much all Active Duty.. ^^ Plus the classes have been consolidated to be half as long to accomodate the average soldier's busy schedule. So I lucked out. xD

Anyway.. I got to thinking that maybe I'm wrong/stupid for not wanting to go to an art school like a lot of artists I know are doing.. like what am I thinking, trying to study medicine when I failed the first time around? I mean, I'd love to take painting classes and life drawing classes and God knows I need the practice, but the interest has been sort of diminishing.

It started to happen when I met an 18-year-old Marine who lost a leg and fingers and a lot of skin to an IED, the first person I took care of at Walter Reed. It's amazing how something like that touches you.

*sigh* Sorry, I'm kind of in an ill mood. I need to go shooting again. ><;;

Meh.. so I finally downloaded Advent Children yesterday (yeah.. I'm a bit out of the loop =B). Visually, it was perfectly gorgeous. :heart: Not only were the characters such a pleasure to look at, but the cinematography was top notch--the angles, pans, etc. Story wise it seemed a bit lacking.. it relied on the viewer to have played the PS game to know what was going on. ..Well I guess that was the original intention. I so wanna do a fanart of Vincent now.. :love: Ugh, he was so awesome. *fangirlishness ensues* :XD:

Resident Evil 4 for PS2 releases on the 25th, I've (blatantly!) hinted to the family that I wanted it for my birthday~ =D lol! I can't wait.

So.. I've been living in the D.C. area for a year and a half and only this weekend went sightseeing for real. ^^;

Zoo was under construction so it was a bit.. lacking. =\

Arlington National Cemetery was amazing. I was honestly stunned to realize the scale of the place, and how many people are recognized and remembered there. It's quite a feeling you get.

I'd love to go to the Holocaust museum next. ...Yes, I get excited about museums. I am a nerd. :XD:

Being born and raised in a third-world country sort of put things in perspective for me, and sometimes it seems like people here don't know how good they actually have it. It kills me that people bitch and moan about this or that and how awful this country is while they still are able to choose what they watch on TV, where they sleep, what to wear and eat and do. As much as they say it sucks they're still here, either they wouldn't want to live anywhere else or just aren't doing enough to get themselves the hell out of this oh-so-godforsaken place. :roll:

Be bloody thankful that you can complain about something, hate the government, disagree with the president, protest the war, that it's fine and legal, that you can technically do it whenever you fucking want, just please go do it to someone who actually cares to hear it.

so i downloaded ragnarok online yesterday. anyone else play on the sakray server? =D this is just something to keep me busy till the end of summer.. or something.

obsessed again with everything military-related. probably from watching tears of the sun and over there on FX last night. yeah.. i like how they portray us medical personnel (the blonde chick) as apathetic b*tches. :disbelief: and since when did you wear a scrub top with BDU bottoms?! u_u;; er.. and a few more gripes i won't get into.

:omg: My computer ate my Photoshop. It simply won't work anymore, and refuses to reinstall. Argh. How frustrating. :censored: This is going to be a real problem for me if I can't get it back!

In other news.. I sold my first print on the 15th. :heart: ^^ This is a big deal to me.. thanks! (Amounts to a grand total of.. $1.10! XD) I want to produce even better prints, but I use Photoshop for finishing and formatting.. ugh, what a pain. =(

And I discovered a few ridiculously talented artists here on deviantart and I plan to stalk them. >D

Busch Gardens was a blast. It may have taken a lot of cajoling but I rediscovered my love for rollercoasters. :love: The best part was, it was free! XD I may draw a thing or two inspired by the Cirque du Soleil-esque show they had. Haha.

:D So I am now a subscriber.. at least for the 3 months that came with the prints account.

Well, I plan on submitting something for print, though I'm not confident about it getting accepted! ><;; I still am pretty clueless about the aspect ratios and acceptable print sizes, etc.. oh well.

Today four of us Army kids are going off to KOA Williamsburg in VA to camp out, just so that we can head to Busch Gardens on Saturday morning. <3 It's been years since I've been to a theme park, the last being Six Flags in Vallejo, CA. :heart:

i've read and reread (how could you miss it?) the reasoning on both sides of the situation and understand the feelings each may inspire in different people. although, i admit i never went so deep as to pursue the facts at its roots-- the forums, the admin journals, the emails, etc.

but please forgive me for having faith that things will turn out okay, that friends and artists i deeply admire will not be compelled to leave dA for any reason when it becomes clear what the new MO will be. i'm almost expecting to get spammed (disregard my unpopularity for a second): "how can you be so complacent!? friggin' herd mentality."

this is my opinion and mine alone, this is me getting some weight off my chest (figuratively speaking, of course) in light of recent events.

argh. i really must be getting back to my art.
