Dragon Boat Festival is called Duan Wu Jie in Chinese. Jie means festival. The festival is celebrated on the 5th of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar (June 4, 2003).

The most popular theory of the origin of the festival is that it was derived from the activities of commemorating a great patriot poet, Qu Yuan. After some thought, I'm inclined to put some restrictions on future submissions into the Literature category.

The reason? Well...we try to relate to "China" in any way possible, and some of the submissions..well..are just stretching the limits a bit too much.

True, we want to encourage each and every one of our members to submit, and receive valuable comments from other artists, but we also want to try and keep to our "Chinese" theme.

And Literature, I think, is something that can truly reflect the Chinese culture.

So, enough of ranting, here are some possible changes to consider:

Admin and I have agreed that the flow of art submissions is becoming overwhelming. This is due to no fault of any specific individual but the cause of this problem is mainly due to the fact that we have close to 2000 members, meaning us active admins have been getting hundreds of submissions every week which are extremely time-consuming to sift through.

Also I am sure many members/watchers are becoming fed up of the spamming of deviations which could be causing them to lose interest in our group's deviations altogether.

Among my friends in Melbourne, I'm one of the lucky ones. Writing from Wuhan, China, I have just experienced my first "White Christmas".

The snow started falling yesterday morning, and continued throughout Christmas Eve! What a Silent Night it was!

Lying in bed last night, I prayed for it to snow hard all night long, so I can capture my White Christmas. And it did!

The reason given by Tencent officials was that the 360 program "扣扣保镖" blocked QQ's safety assistant, and will not ensure that QQ runs in a safe environment.
