And let me tell you, saw some cool stuff!
Real-life Thiebauds, Alexander Calder mobiles, and some things you'd just have to see for yourself. Lot's of different medium (from pottery and gold to yarn and tape), lots of different eras, and motivations for making art. It was very good for my inner deviant artist.

I checked out Busan and Geoje and some other cities down south (since it's closest to Japan hence the manga) -- but they're both port cities. I've never lived in a port city and don't really understand them... so I don't feel those are good places for my little San-shine.

Anyways. I'm also debating about whether or not to have more than one scene in a chapter. I say that now as I prepare to end the first scene in chapter two. The second scene would be brief but it takes place in Daemun's home -- so I'd have to describe a whole new place... and I wonder if after the first scene the reader won't be too tired to do the work of imagining it.

what do you guys think? know any good places in Korea besides Seoul? Any advice on the scene/chapter problem? Yay, I had work today and one of my bosses said I've gotten good reports. Yay! Yay!!!!
Lately I haven't been drawing, but I've had fun giving other people ideas. I've noticed that in other places too.
I think since I haven't been reading lately my brain is just dying. I need stimulation!! It's gotten so bad that I made my roomie read me some of her homework assignment. heh heh
so yesterday it was really amazing weather outside (buen tiempo!) and we went for a walk around my roomie's new neighborhood. It was really nice and nastalgic. Of course we swung on the swings. And then got smoothies >< yaay
I keep meaning to run down the CTLT (where I work) and scan some of my old drawings to color. But I'm kinda embarassed to. I guess I don't like most people seeing my manga-style stuff. I feel dorky haha

it's debatable as to whether today is the first day of lend or not -- i should say, of giving up whatever you were gonna. I'm not catholic but i'm giving up junk food for two reasons!

so today was my third day of new classes, and a new semester. it feels really weird. not to be back, but with these new classes. i just haven't gotten used to my schedule. which involves getting up at 7:30 (i know that's really not that bad) but i haven't been sleeping hardly, even though i've gone to bed at a really reasonable time.

Did i tell you, I signed up for the PE 0-credit ballet class. well they put me intermediate ballet. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. I was in tears at the barre it was so aweful. I totally lost my cool man, they were just dancing around and i was like .... buhhhhh..... so i'm dropping it. the rest of my classes are looking tought so it's nice to have that time slot open again.

The rest of my schedule look like this:
Intro to Statistics 8:30-9:20 M, W, Th, Fr
Art History 10:30-11:20 M, W, f
Ballet-- no anymore, sista!!
Spanish 130 1:30- 2:20 M, W, Th, F
Cognitive Science 2:30-3:20 M, W, F and lav at 6:30-9:00 Mondays ... at night... yuck.
Fencing is W, Th, F 7:30-10:00
Plus whatever small group i can squeeze into.
And I'm thinking of being an RA (Residents' Assistant) next year.

ho ho ho we bought the rest of the series of Series of Unfortunate Events after the movie Saturday.
Daddy's got a new girlfriend (yay??) we had dinner at her house yesterday with her and her parents and some other nice random ppl. It was okay. It's been a long time since I've had to get used to a new bunch of non-related adults.
Anyways, so I found a little pile of Harry Potter fanart I did before I left for Alabama, and I know I've been talking like I would put off that sort of art for the sake of experimenting,,, but -- these are good! so, begin waiting expectantly and impatiently for me to get motivated and scan those puppies.
Sunday I'm going back to school!!!! yay -- *little tear* miss the Gouch so much >.< My first day of classes I'll have just ballet ^___^. looks like there's only two ppl in that class... i don't know if i'll be able to handle that kind of attention ... in a leotard.

Well, obviously I'm very excited about getting to use all those sweet features.

Anyways, I stayed up till two:thirty am finishing Wormwood. It's really good! Pretty unrelenting in its realistic grossness and violence. Probably the darkest thing I've ever read... for a book by a Christian author, I'd say it'd probably get an R rating if it were a movie -- for freakiness and such. The second pretty noticeable thing about it is that there are no really good characters. Everyone is flawed -- like real life. More than flawed, evil sorta. Yeah.... Mah favorite character - look out cuz I'm sure he's quite a bishie -- is Tegatus.
Anyways, I'm gonna go run searches and do all the cool stuff I can with my subscriptionto.

Sorry, I was momentarily inspired. So, it's THANKSGIVING BREAK!!! And I am giving thanks. I 've been in college about 2 months now.... almost 3 ack!! And I'm loving every bit of it.

I love love love my new Fellowship friends, and my fencing/Harry Potter buddies. and ... my hallmates. and my roommate. and the honorary members of Gallagher Three. and everyone. Good times.

i don't feel like i'm going to be able to post much -- at least if I keep up this pace. you know i'm trying not to burrow up in my dorm, b/c i like people and want to be around people -- but at the same time i like quiet time alone w/ a book or my comp.

whatever, i'm certain i'll find the right balance. we're all trying to find balance.

classes start wednesday, sept 1.

i don't have my schedule yet -- i have to wait for my InfoTech meeting to get my password. and then i'll be hitting the book.

it's a totally new feeling the one i'm dealing with -- like i'm better off than everybody. like my folks are loaded and my section of the dorm, my section of the bill (none -- my parents are paying my way through college) -- my lack of a job (i've never had a paying job -- or the need for one) -- like it all shows it.

I dunno. my life is just different. my parents are different. my dad doesn't want me to work through school -- cuz it didn't work for him. he's so generous and willing to foot the bill.

i'm so glad, but i feel bad too. it's so weird. but who says society has the right idea. *shrug* i'm going to have to deal w/ it. i will.

i'm having fun! staying busy. GOFOR was a blast and a blessing -- it's so nice to already know ppl on campus.
