I've been traveling a lot over the summer, but now that's finally come to an end~
I started my first year at Maryland Institute College of Art!

It's my fault: I spilled water all over my Macbook's keyboard. I took it apart and dried it out but I haven't been able to turn it on since then. It's been damaged with water once before, and I've only had it for 4 years, but I'm very sure it's fried D:

It was fun while it lasted c: I will be going to the Philippines again soon, AND I will be starting my first year at MICA right when I get back. Anime Expo 2012 is just around the corner!

For those of you that are unfamiliar with it, Anime Expo is a HUGE 4-day Southern California anime convention that happens every year at the beginning of July. This year it's from June 29th to July 2nd at the Los Angeles Convention center! I've been going to this convention for about 5 years now... And I always cosplay!

The next two and a half weeks I will be preparing my costumes, so I may be a little bit inactive (except for my End Run entries XD), but I'll try to get a nuzlocke update out before the con!

So I come home from driving practice and there's a huuuuuge envelope in the mail for me. And what did I find out?

I got accepted into Maryland Institute College of Art!

And on top of that, I'm a scholarship finalist! I know that doesn't mean I've won anything yet, but at least I'm up there~ I even got a little hand-written 'congratulations' note from the lady who reviewed my portfolio last fall. I'm really happy she remembered me ;w;

I get to go to Baltimore and visit the school during Easter, so I'm SUPER stoked about that~ (plus I get to see my aunt and grandma! c: )

It's been a really REALLY long time since the last update for Alexial's Emerald Nuzlocke XD

I've said this many times before and pretty much all of you know, but I'm a senior in high school right now. That means college. Which entails applications, portfolios, financial aid, SAT scores, transcripts... The whole deal.

The thing is I've had a really hard time getting through the process, and I even missed a lot of deadlines to schools that I actually wanted to go to. It's been really hard on me, and I honestly didn't have much help.

Today is the day I turn 18.
I'm not a kid anymore!

It's weird when I put it that way. Then again, who cares? It's not very different from being the 17-year-old I was yesterday. It's not like I'm gonna start shedding my baby down like a penguin or grow antlers like a deer (but that would be kind of fun, don't you think?).

I had a 'C' as my grade in Calculus before finals.

And my mother threatened to take away my computer If I still had a 'C' after finals.

And I did :/

So I can't has my computer. Not until I get the grade up again (which is weird because next semester everyone starts on a clean slate anyways :/ )

And I barley convinced her to let me use it for school.

I kind of really gave up the fight immediately. I knew it was coming. At least I still do have a 3.5 GPA. I hope and plan to attend an art school next year. I'm super solid in my desire to pursue a career in the arts, and I know attending an art school would be a stepping stone in the process! That being said, I realize one of the most important parts of the application is, of course, having a strong portfolio.

I've actually been doing a nice balancing act for the past few weeks, as you've seen: I've been good and active while still keeping on top of my school work!

Today she got all up in arms over how I'm spending too much time on the computer, not entering enough contests, not getting enough scholarships, etc. etc. etc.
