I really appreciate all the comments and hope they'll continue now that we're living well into science-fiction years. Seriously, 2010, how futuristic is that?!?! and where's my spaceship? Nothing new lately, not sure why, but for whatever reason I just haven't been able to put out the usual amount of work.
Normally I just sit with a sketchbook and after a while there'll be pages of ideas with at least one or two good ideas for poses or gimmicks etc, but lately the work has become a bit stale. I keep ending up with pages that contain very little variety, minor variations of uninteresting poses and uninspired ideas.
Flicking through my shelves of art books or Devart doesn't seem to trigger anything any more either, its been a little while now and its becoming frustrating.

160 GSM cartridge paper A3 (or I can cut down A2) - I like a nice matt surface with a tiny bit of texture that gives you a little tactile feedback through the pen (I find that glossy/smooth papers make me feel slightly detatched from the work). Well, Christmas is over, the decorations are down (if not quite packed away yet... I'll get around to it before March) most of the chocolates are gone, and I've got a shiney new Wacom tablet on my desk, no more struggling to get my old serial Intuos to work for more than two minutes at a time :)

I'm very sore typing this as I was just riding home from work, when some maniac car driver shot over the crest of a hill behind me, overtook at about 50, clipped me and sent me into a ditch!
And didn't even stop! And almost as bad, at least five cars drove right by while I was half-conscious in the mud next to my half burried bike!
Luckily I'm still in one piece but the bastard who clipped me doesn't know that does he!?!?!?!?!

My tablet has died on me again!
turned on the computer today, tried to continue with a painting, and no movement, lights on, changing colour when the pen touches the tablet, but no bloody movement.
removed the tablet, reinstalled, did all the things that eventually fixed it last time (albeit only in 'mouse' mode) all with no luck :(

Tried painting with the mouse which only made me wonder how I coped before I owned a tablet

Fair enough it is an old serial Intuos 1 tablet, but thats no excuse.... Bad tablet!
