OMG! i'm almost all finished with my cosplay~~(all thanks to =ReverieDream's help 8D she's so pro at sewing~) i'm so happy cuz it was so much work and i didn't have any time for myself (it's not like i hate the work or anything, it's just that i want to see my other good friends in Calgary that i miss super duper dearly)

o well, i'll get the chance to see them at/or after otafest anyways...but i just miss em soooooo much ;__; and i feel bad for not being able to see em when i arrived at Calgary...orz

well, me is still on temp hiatus since i barely have enuff time to draw and i'm gonna be pretty busy while i'm in Calgary so hopefully i'll be able to post more new artworks by the end of May~ (srry usa, draa, and jes! i didn't have time to finish the artworks that i promised |||OTL i'm REALLY sorry...)

the weather today is so hot..it's like 30C? it's usually still pretty chilly if it was in Calgary, but man, LA is HOT. The temp in the car was like suffocatingly hot =A=
hope it rains soon...

ok, here's the breakdown, in a mathematical equation 8D (tho i HATE HATE math..)

a 4 month long problem that i've been bottling up until only 2 weeks ago + suffered little depression + loss of art inspirations (bad one) + outage of internet connection (using someone else's wireless internet to write this journal but still unstable. my dad screwed up our old internet with his "new experiment"

) + spent more time on chores such as cooking and cleaning + movie watching rampage + ~~a lot~~ some procrastination XDD =

(i feel soooo bad for those ppl who left me messages but i didn't show any signs of life for like...a few weeks....soooo srry....i'm getting to those now. hope some of u don't mind REALLY late responses

this was kinda like one of those things where u think it's ok to leave it alone for a few times, but then u start to get used to it and eventually u don't really get back to it anymore since u've already missed so much of it..(8DD fragment)
maybe it's just me...i SO suck at time management....orz

tho i am still lacking inspirations _{and i don't kno what to do about it}, everything else is working out pretty nicely~ so i think i'm back 8DD (unless everything backfires..)

just to let u guys kno, i don't really experience these issues often (well maybe expect for the inspiration and sucky internet part XD) so won't go on another hiatus anytime soon 8D
it's just moving to USA is a really big change for me, so naturally, i'm struggling to adapt. i hope i can overcome these obstacle soon so that i can move on with my life

well, my dad has left for China today...i feel lonely now..;_; he usually fills our house with a LOT of his stories and experiences...(maybe a little TOO much somtimes...XD) but ya, he talks non-stop that he's pretty much the only one doing all the talking and we just nod in agreement XDD

Now it's so quiet without him...i miss his loud snores too...;__;

he only visited for 2 weeks, tho it felt more like a week. In these past 2 weeks, all he did here was eat, sleep, read info, talk bout his experiences (lectures...), go to washroom, and repeat. Sometimes we go grocery shopping, but other than those 6 things, there's nothing else for him to do XDDD

speaking of experiences, my dad told us bout his interesting military times and i thought it would be interesting to share with u guys~ (it is mandatory for males in Taiwan to do some military services)
*warning! LONG journal ahead!*

and omg...was i ever shocked...
the physical training is basically torture...

5000m of running during 6am is daily routine, and u have a time limit of 24 mins!! If u fail to finish the run within 24 min, u have to do it again in the afternoon...and if u fail AGAIN, u have to do it AGAIN during the evening. U will do it over and over until u get it down to 24 mins, not 24.5min.
He also said usually 2 senior soldiers accompany u on the run. They serve to force u to finish the run. One of em push u, while the other drag u when ur body gives in on u....DDDD8
push ups and sit ups r done in hundreds, regular routine again. My dad said his whole body aches SOOOO much during the first few weeks of the training. awwwww poor pops!

My dad also mentioned this 'special unit'. Apparently, their normal running routine is like WAYYYY more IMPOSSIBLE. It consists a total of 20,000m run per day, 10,000m in the morning and again during the evening. But still u r accompanied by 2 seniors. Tho this time, u get kicked in the arse if ur body can't handle it. In some cases, u get poked in ur arse by a knife.....WTH??!! CRAZY SENIORS!! and it's actually true cuz one of my dad's friend experienced that...running with a bloody arse until his adrenaline kicked in and miraculously made it before the time limit.....HOLY HOLLY SHIT!!??!!DDDD8 UNBELIEVABLE!!!
They also have this marine-like training course where they throw u into the sea for a couple of days without anything but clothing, and when u r on the verge of death, they pull u up and gives u some first aid, then kicks u back to the sea again...i was speechless by then...

there r more crazy stuff but my dad didn't kno anything beyond that...except for their graduation ceremony. O GOD...WHAT NOW?

They have to go thru one last torture before it all ends...and the surprise is....A FIELD OF BROKEN GLASS~~...which they have to crawl thru, without any protective gear, in order to graduate.....ok...W-WW-WHA?????

guess what their graduating certificate were...O.O

Well, Valentine's day is just around the corner so my icon buddy, =ReverieDream, and i decided to change our icons for the holidays~ ^w^

Today is Dec.12.2008.......
My first anniversary on DA!!!~~~ XDDD

time sure flies by XDD I can't believe i've been on DA for a year ALREADY!! XD~~ i didn't improve that much in one year...OTL i wonder when i can get to those god-sent artist's lvl... (=.= )*staring into space* probably in another 10 year or so 8DDD

This past year on DA has been such an wonderful experience~~ I've met some great ppl out there and discovered tons of talented, admirable and young artists

~ They really inspire me keep trying and work hard on improving my art~ It's also so nice to meet striving artists like myself~ i feel that we can really connect on our experiences of drawing~~ nice to kno that i'm not struggling alone ;v;

1)needed to study for diplomas after ota-fest
2)needed to clean my house and pack since me moving to USA
3)needed to go to a BUNCH of b-day parties, celebration parties, and my own personal farewell party ^///^ (Was so touched *tears*)
4)After exmas were over, me had no computer after June 29th
5)couldn't get a hold of a computer until today (i did get a computer a few days ago but i didn't have enough time to do anything...)
6)was extremely exhausted from the 14 hour flight to Taiwan to do anything
7)now have servere allergic reations to the humid, dirty, and hot air in Taiwan...T_T
8)needed to visit my family here, that includes:
a) my 5 aunts
b) my 3 uncles
c)my 20 some cousins
d) 2 daughters of my cousin, 2 sons of my other cousins, 1 son from my other cousin, 1 son from my other cousin.
9)was occupied due to sight-seeing, eating yummy yummy food mmmmm~, and playing with my LARGE family~

so ya... that was all my reasons for being absent for 3 weeks... but i've managed to finish one more pic during all that craziness. I'm trying to upload this pic but i don't have the proper equip yet, so it'll probably take me a while to upload that pic...srry...
