Just to let people know what's happened with me since August, here's a quick rundown:
September & October:
A lot of music stuff. Attended the All-district Vocal Jazz and Vocal concerts. Was ranked 9th in each. I get to go to the All-state Vocal concert at the end of january. also found out that I made the state fair talent competition from a tap dance performance I had in june. That performance is next saturday.

November & December:
I started my acting career. I tried out for a part in our area's broadway show production company, which was performing the musical "she loves me". Made it into the show as one of the leads. Since then I've been running 5 am to midnight days. not much sleep. Joined the area DDR group, and play every available wednesday. Thursdays are the Quad City Anime society meetings, which I also attend.

January:
Picked out an instrumental solo - I've switched instruments this year from flute to trombone, and my instructor wants me to take both instruments to contest this year for solos. Plus my vocal solo, plus the show choir performance. Am also in a college honor band (augustana). Made the upper band this year, and get to be under the conduction (is that a word?) of _David Hoslinger_! that's going to be sweet. happens the day after the talent competition for dance.

In other news, The rain from the beginning of the week threw off my picture creating schedule, so I haven't been able to put anything up. (Totally wiped out 2 of my systems, i was not a happy camper) However, I will be able to fix this large oversight, and will come up with something by the end of the week.

Finally, after getting my latest thing up yesterday, I started one of my new cg's of Megatokyo. A little bit into it, my wacom tablet pen STOPPED WORKING.... Frustrated, I restarted my computer to make sure it wasn't a driver error. After reloading, I tested it and it STILL DIDN'T WORK.... I tried the eraser, and that works fine. The mouse still works fine. the PEN, y'know, the thing that you need to do EVERYTHING, doesn't work, along with the side buttons. Therefore, I won't be able to do anything at a high enough quality, so I won't be able to put anything up until I get a new pen, which is $30.00 + shipping.

However, we didn't go to peabody's that day, we went the day after. Even then, there was a great disappointment. They had a DDR 3rd mix machine that was so out of time that after the song was done, there were 7-8 seconds worth of arrows left. Obviously playing to the beat was not an option. The other machine they had there would have been a beautiful one to be on, but you had to buy a movie ticket to get to it. Mon - Wed we have off for Veteran's Day and Parent/Teacher conferences, but I still have to go in for Musical practice. I choreographed 3 songs in our show, and i will get some pictures of the practices in here.

The week started normally. Same boring monday - wednesday. On thursday, I had the chance to go to a Music Education Introduction workshop at WIU. That was an awesome experience. Not only did i learn tons, but I have improved my posture (thanks to Dr. Stegall), can now truly say I have conducted a large ensemble (you would not believe how hard that actually is - showing note cues, dynamics, and tempo at the same time), had free, yes FREE Sbarro pizza (four slices, i didn't have to eat until lunch friday...), and I also left with 2 new friends. What a day.

Yesterday and today, normal. Our choir director helps our barbershop quartet, and now thinks he owns it. He said we weren't going to have practice on Friday.... We did, and sounded great. Then again, i wasn't at home on Friday from 7 AM to 9 PM. Long hours, but I'm all right. Today was a relaxing day. We cleaned our house. Very relaxing *rolls eyes*. Got a new pic up today, one i've been working on for a while now.

BTW, I haven't been able to give credit to yet. I know her from school, and her art is exceptional. I know, shameless plug, but hey, it works.

For those of us who have to deal every day with a 56K modem, IMHO it's starting to get pathetic. On here, it's even worse! Because of lost connections, I have been having multiple posts everywhere. Even running the shoutbox on it is bad. I've suggested the creation of a Java-based revamping of the shoutbox, which would be able to update realtime, and be able to help those with *ahem* less-than-worthy connection speeds.

Of course, since the world does not look kindly on the people in the middle of nowhere, that doesn't seem like it'll change very soon. However, I've suggested to my neighbors about sharing a dedicated satellite modem. Only 1 problem: We have to split a $600 installation charge! Since money's tight always, we'll see about that in the future.

Now, on to the new idea. After seeing the success of this on MSN messenger (which i only use because not enough people i know are on ICQ or AIM , fsck micro$oft), I have decided to port my " Useless links of the week" to here, in the Journal. This week's: EvilZug's " work it" video!
