...and now there is me.
This deviantArt place seems vaguely familiar, I feel like I've been here before.
It's been a long summer, I'd say. Not much time to get online to do just about anything, so dA was out of the question I guess.
I'll be checking out your journals and and trimonthly deviations for the following weeks, maybe even post something of mine, who knows.

I'm back home now, reviving the gentle symbiosis me and my computer have.
A lot of absolutely fantastic memories behind me, a vitality booster to make me live trough the dull times about to come.

I went on a trip trough the Balkans this past month, traveled across horizontally and vertically, to any place or country we might decide we want to go tomorrow, and did not miss a single type of means of transport on the way. It could count as a professional trip - tasting the various beer and wines of the region. Days filled with finding secluded beaches, skinny dipping, boogie-boarding, vodka-watermelons, strip clubs, beer-pong tournaments, banana fights, graveyard midnight tours, narcolepsy, guns and puppies.

As endearing as all of it was, now I'm back to my regular world of LAN parties, limited array of beers, club hopping, work, narcolepsy, books and many many movies.

Speaking of, I found the ultimate movie marathon combo for me, one so awesome it can give me panic attacks and nose bleeds at the same time (as experienced yesterday): Trainspotting + Rocknrolla + Fight Club.
If you have other disturbing movie threesomes to recommend, go for it, I'm game.

my subscription is over, pretend this is a thumbnail: [link]

I appear to be too apathetic to do just about anything, and have quite some unfinished business going around. Stuff has been happening, but since I spent some time with the volume turned down, I guess it doesn’t matter all that much.

If nothing else, I have finally found a hidden talent – I appear to be very good with a Colt in my hand. A .22, a .9, you name it. It was a rainy day and I had just gotten back from a trip to another town, and I and a friend decided to go for a beer. While still in the elevator, we somehow changed our plans to going to the shooting range.

I was surprised to see that all my shots ended up in the targets head, except for one. That one went in the crotch.

So now I’m stocked about being good with a gun. It’s the sexiest feeling ever. And I have a feeling I’ll be a regular at that shooting range.

One of the other things that happened was the fact that I got a tablet as a gift. Seemed like I was about to get the hand of it, even started downloading some drawing books with the thought in mind to learn and improve, but then the silly tablet malfunctioned. It’s still lying in my drawer, have no idea what to do about it.

Also, I spent a weekend roaming some mountains, drinking cheep beer and smoking cigarettes on hill tops and what not. Went freelance climbing on quite a steep turf over a waterfall in the most inadequate outfit ever, but I guess the view I got was worth the effort.
Photos from that trip, voila:

I'll be getting around to the unfinished business now.

I’m looking forward to the time when I’ll be able to answer the question “How are you doing?”, with “Really good.”, and finally be sincere about it.

A month and a half has passed since I’ve been messed up, and I still seem to be bitching about my health problems. And I’ve been getting prescriptions by doctors for anything imaginable, and my own medicine cabinet has more pills than my grandma's has. Which is why I’m considering playing poker with her with drugs as chips.

Another lame thing on the list is the fact that my cell phone is actually 2 halves of a phone right now. Since I violently dropped it yesterday, it’s now detached from the slider and is two sad dangling pieces held together by a wire here and there, and some metal. So, until I get it fixed (if it can be fixed), I’ll be using a fugly substitute phone I borrowed, which is red, slim, and so feminine, it’s practically a painful eye sore.

Also, I am so detoxed right now, I feel like a better role model than the chick from Enchanted. (Speaking of, Disaster Movie is a must for y’all!) I haven’t had a beer or a smoke in a week now.

Regardless, I am looking forward to the Macedonia dev meeting tomorrow night (and if you haven't confiremd you're attending, you better do so fast), and I reckon it should be great fun. If nothing more, the location for it is better than the one for the previous meeting.
Sharing beer with fellow deviants is gonna be sweet. (yay, so much for the abstinence).

So, I hope I’ll be feeling up and about for tomorrow, and that the side effects from my recent oral intervention (sounds funny, but its not) will be gone by then.

Dona, over & out.

To whom it may concernÂ
I’m pretty much recovered, even the migraines aren’t that bad, the only obstacle for now is sleeping, but a month-give or take, that should settle down too.
My thanks go out to all who checked up on me and wished me a good recovery.

Due to all of this and the weather warming up fast, I missed out on the snowy-beer-hill-climbing, long-boarding on frozen streets and ice skating. But maybe its better I couldn’t do any of those things, or safer at the least.

Anyhow, I did something enjoyable at last, had a hell of a time on the Winer-Een-Mass holiday . (To all that don’t know which holiday that is, it’s a fictional celebration of video games originating from the Ctrl+Alt+Del comic).

And I don’t usually like to celebrate anything, after all, I’m the person who spent New Year’s in front of a TV dozing off every 5 minutes, and I have not the slightest idea where I was or what I was doing for Christmas.

But Winter-Een-Mass is special. We had a LAN party at friends place, just 6 people (two of which and , who I actually met there.)

The night consisted of:
a shitload of bottled Becks and a few 1.5 liter beers for back up
buncha family pizzas
Warcraft:FT, DotA, Quake III, Tekken, Soulcalibur, Guitar HeroÂ
laughing our asses off on Resident Evil: Degeneration (the game-based anime film, which I actually like, but hell, zombies are funny)
debating on whether the hospital in Cloverfield is more like a Half Life, or a Resident Evil, or a Silent Hill hospital
shooting Yo Mama jokes at each other on game chats
Staying up till 7 in the morning doing all of the aboveÂ

So, Winter-Een-Mass turned out to be much like Christmas, Birthday, Halo night, the premiere of Wolverine, and the release of Starcraft II, all rolled up into one.
I had a plan last night. It didn’t involve the bandages I’m wearing on my face or the pain I’m in right now.

Yesterday night I wanted to wear my red heels, but I wore my cowboy boots. Instead of getting ass drunk, I kept lagging with my beers and B-52s, and didn’t get beyond tipsy at all times. Instead of taking a cab home at 4:30, I went with my friends to get some take away. Instead of seeing my friend coming with the food while I was waitingÂ
…and so I’m lying unconscious on a frozen street.

Have you seen people so startled and frightened that they can’t find the composure to pick a bleeding unconscious girl back up from the ground?

I got up by myself, and saw that everyone was staring at me with jaws dropped. My friends, running after security personal, or too far from the people that have surrounded me while I was out, weren’t in my line of sight.

I remember walking into the dinner, and no one mouthing a word still. Didn’t work charms on my fever, but it felt darn good. The previous time I went skating (a day before new year’s), I hurt my hip doing a spin, and couldn’t move properly a few days. But now I got that spin, so I guess it was worth it.

All I want for now is for me to finish my university chores, finish all the to-dos I have at work for these 2 weeks, and get the hell out of town.

To get the hell out of town and spend a few days climbing up snowy mountains, freezing my ass off, smoking with gloves on, getting my socks wet and drinking a lot of beer.
With there to deprive me from half of my well deserved beer, and to chase away the donkeys and wild dogs we meet even though they have such a potential to be our good friends.
I’ll come back with new stories about roaming wolves, getting lost in snow storms and sliding freestyle on deserted frozen airport runways.

Till then, I’ll stay on my track on working from home, getting drunk while doing so, and piling up empty beer cans.

I started eating meet again, I guess... I was force fed, I reckon it's not that bad. But still, nothing makes a better lunch than a 3 course beer lunch, or more familiar to some as the beer-beer-and-beer lunch.

Anywho, today's the more than spectacular conjunction of Venus, Jupiter and the moon, so look up in the sky, don't wanna miss this.
NASA offers more info, here: [link]

So in order to catch this, a gang of me, & went up on the mountains.
In order for this amazing picture to be captured, we had to stand in the dusk on a mountain peak for quite some time, while wolves were roaming around. So I guess I was the protection crew, paroling around with two rocks in my hand and a tripod, to be able to defend from a wolf pack surprise attack, while the others took their shots. Either way, no wolves came, but we got lost on our way back looking for the car. Alive and well, slightly frozen we headed back town.
And earlier that day, I was testing my karate kid skills unaware that I could need them later on to fight wolves.
So yah, if you need wolf pack protection, call on me. And if we take my gaming experience into account, I can also be efficient in fighting off various aliens, zombies, and terrorist groups. So call me if you need protection while you are expressing artistically.

It hasn’t been too long, but it’s enough for me to be unable to pinpoint how long it’s been.
Regardless, I have a recollection of the last 3 days, for what it’s worth.

The day 3 days ago:
Three beerholics meet up to go hiking and eat pizza on the mountain. We hiked around 7-9 minutes due to my friend’s poor choice of shoes. Ate the food, drank the beer, killed some spiders that had a tendency of stalking me, until it all turned into a roleplay with a Beirut alcoholic , an urban ballerina , and me - the hyperactive child.

The day 2 days ago:
I got wasted on a bus ride to a town somewhere with my friend. By the time we got there, we were fairly tipsy. What followed was a camp fire in pitch darkness up on a mountain, with the one of the most beautiful skies I had seen. Now I know how a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket look like. And then on some electro party on the same mountain. I just know I strolled around with a beer and a Gauloises in my hand singing “..up on a mountain.. beyond electric dreams..” by Bad Religion.

The day 1 day ago:
I remember having breakfast at our hosts in the town far far away. I remember walking around that town while my friend (also mentioned as the urban ballerina and the person getting drunk with me on a bus) was trying out wedding gowns in stores, pretending she was getting married. And then, I recall some book reading while some hornets are flying around and some 10 year old kids that look like born and raised in Texas are shooting an air-gun near by. And a bus ride back home.

Today:
I just took a shower. Now I have to go to some meeting. I’ll drink more beer. I should cut down on my cigarettes though.
And I don’t think I can remember a lot more than that right now.

The murky day outside seems perfectly matching with my dim mood today. The mood trigger happened last night, I was working late in the office and I got an email from a friend: "You heard about Clarke?".
And then a text message from another friend "rip A.C.Clarke :'( "
And with fingers slightly trembling, I checked the news. Sir Arthur C. Clarke, one of the fathers of science fiction, passed away on the age of 90, in his home in Sri Lanka.

Thing is, my sci-fi respecting friends, and all the people that encountered this genre are most likely stressed out a tad about this unfortunate event and loss of a grand literary icon. As for me, I lost my childhood hero.
I can still perfectly recall the cover of the first book I read by him when I was but a child, and how I accidentally found that book and picked it for the space ship on the cover. It was the first real SF book I read.. And it felt like I found a whole new world.. I found the gateway to Atlantis, a wormhole to an alternate universe, my personal Narnia in my closet.
So I hold a great deal of respect to this man. And I find my mourn to be in prefect order, after all, I have spent such a great deal of time with his books and thoughts.

And to all that haven't heard this name, or encountered his work, you have my warmest recommendations. After all, he had made the groundbreaking "2001: A Space Odyssey" book and movie along with my favorite director Kubrick. He has been a part of quite a few astronomy and astronautic enterprises alongside with NASA. He had set the concept of geostationary communications satellites long before scientists started considering it. He is undoubtedly and unequivocally, a person that should be remembered.

Here is a list of my favorite A.C.Clarke quotes, sneak a peak into this man's mind:

"I'm sure the universe is full of intelligent life. It's just been too intelligent to come here."

"Two possibilities exist: Either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying."

"I don't believe in God but I'm very interested in her. "

"I don't believe in astrology; I'm a Sagittarius and we're skeptical."

"It is not easy to see how the more extreme forms of nationalism can long survive when men have seen the Earth in its true perspective as a single small globe against the stars."

"There is hopeful symbolism in the fact that flags do not wave in a vacuum."

"The best measure of a man's honesty isn't his income tax return. It's the zero adjust on his bathroom scale."

"Reading computer manuals without the hardware is as frustrating as reading sex manuals without the software."

Clarke's Laws:
*Clarke's First Law: When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
*Clarke's Second Law: The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
*Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Also... My PC is named HAL 9000.
