Why didn't someone slap me when I forgot to update my 100D yesterday? Oh well, done now...

Well, this is the first time I've updated my 100D since I got my new memory and it was a breeze, for once it didn't slow my computer to a crawl!

[begin ranting] It's unfortunate that some deviants get a bad first impression of deviantART. I don't want to give either party any attention so I won't mention names, but some of you may know the specific event I am referring to. Someone (the deviant) made a comment on (the artist) the wrong person's deviation calling it porn. I'm not going to get into how I feel about that subject because that is irrelevant. Now this deviant is relatively new to deviantART and may not even know about the mature content filter. So does the artist simply hide the comment and be done with it, maybe send the deviant a note explaining how to use the mature content filter? Of course not, the artist writes an entire journal entry about it. The result, hundreds (and I do mean hundreds) of people visiting the deviant's profile, many leaving comments personally slamming the deviant and the deviant's art. Is that justified? I don't think so. Personally I think the artist should have just hidden the comment instead of bringing so much attention to it. I don't get why someone who seems to be a well respected artist would want to bring that on to someone as new as that deviant. I have learned though that there are some subcultures on dA that you can expect that kind of behavior from. It just saddens me that a new artist would get that kind of welcome to the deviantART world. I just hope the deviant is smart enough to realize that that type of behavior doesn't represent the dA community as a whole. I have met so many nice people on here. It's unfortunate that deviant will get such a bad first impression. [end ranting]
