I've finally finished with sixth-form (thank God, haha). All of my exams are done and out of the way, my art exhibition is up and being examined/moderated. So all I can do now is wait for my results which are released in August.

Been a while, eh? Well I've been busy. I'm just here for a quick update. I have ten weeks left of lessons at sixth-form college, twelve weeks including Easter holidays. Then it's study leave, then exams. I put my passport renewal application in this week so once that's back in two weeks I can finally finish my visa application and lodge that. I hope it all goes through without too many (if any, please, no) problems.

Had a photoshoot a week ago and that was pretty good, it's been too long since I was behind my camera properly. I have another coming up next Wednesday (circus themed) and some more in the pipeline, so keep an eye out! I'll also be putting up a few more photos from last week's shoot with Jemma over the next few days.

Had a shoot with Hannah today. I adore working with this girl, she's amazing. So keep an eye out for some photographs I should be adding over the next few days.

Only one week left until the minimum due date of my passport. Fingers crossed, eh? I want it here dead on the due date, haha.

My birth dad, Steven, was taken into hospital yesterday with suspected heart problems... I don't know what's happening, but I'm worried. I guess all I can do is wait to find out.

My granddad died yesterday, January 17th, early in the morning. He was asleep and had people holding his hands. I am still looking for designs, so if you're still interested or know someone let me know. I know a few of you are e-mailing them to me soon.

...To get to the point, I really want to get a tattoo in his memory when he passes, but I have seen so many designs I like I just don't know which to choose. In the end, I'd love a personalised tattoo design. One that's mine and I won't find on every other person's body.

So that's where you guys come in, right?

If any of you are good at drawing or anything and you want to try designing me a tattoo I would love you forever and ever. Or, if you know a friend who's really good at it and could convince them for me? If I have to I'll pay for the perfect design. I don't care, I just want it. I need to find it. =]

I'm looking for:

I'm looking for an angel or fairy (designer's choice) who is beautiful, but not sexy. This is for my granddad, I don't want her naked (unless she has really long hair covering everything or something, y'know).

Although most people think I should get a happy-looking angel/fairy, I don't want her to be too happy. She's supposed to be in mourning, like I will be.

She's probably going to go in the small of my back, so nothing huge please! I don't have the guts for a full back piece. Also, I'm not looking for a colour tattoo or a tribal tattoo. I'd really like her sitting down, purely because of where she'll be on my body, but if the pose is right standing/laying, etc, whatever will be considered. I will also consider pieces designed to sit between the shoulder blades in that upper part of the back.

So please, if you could help me, it would mean the world to me. My granddad has been such a huge part of my life I'm not ready to let go. I want something permanent to help me heal, to help my family. To remind myself that his spirit, his laugh, his stubbornness and love all live on in our memories and dreams.

It doesn't feel like Christmas yet, though. Even though it's the day of Christmas Eve. I still haven't wrapped the presents... Even though we're opening them tonight, so we can drive down to my nan and granddad's to spend Christmas with them. We planned it all around granddad, but he's in hospital now and won't even get to spend it with us... So it's really hard to feel the Christmas spirit.

Regardless, though, I'm spending it with family and we'll visit him. So it'll be good for all it's creeping up very late indeed.

H'okay, here goes.

No, I'm not going to put up a big journal about how incredible Australia was, who I met, where I went, what I did, how it changed my life, etc. Not because it didn't, but because it's something very special to me and in two months Australia began to feel like home. I really miss it and until I can return, I'm going to share smiles, laughter, tears and many-a-inside joke with Aaron.

No, I'm not going to resubscribe to deviantART. I'm just not that interested any more, y'know? There's a life beyond this computer and I'm not afraid of it, haha. It's not what it used to be on here and the people aren't who they used to be, but that's okay because we come to expect change. I'll still post and comment, etc, but I won't be on the chats unless for an exceptional cause and I probably won't maintain membership in any clubs. Oh, and don't expect too many journals.

I'm still busy with school and whatnot. I didn't take last year seriously enough, so I'm making up for it this year. Damn, you don't realise how much work there really is until you start doing the stuff. I'm still studying Art, English Literature and Philosophy. Three of the best subjects and I'm enjoying it immensely, particularly the art part of it all. Expect some scans and photographs to be on their way. I'm working on two canvasses (one large, one medium), have many sketches in my book to share and more on the way. In art, my project is surrounding taboo, so it promises to be interesting and challenging, not only for me but the viewers, too! A billion photographs from Australia as well as more of the portraiture to be churned out as I begin to confirm shoots.

I'm eighteen in twenty days! I'm getting a little excited, sure, who doesn't? Most of all I can't wait to move in with Aaron, because it's a lot of what I want right now.

I'm applying for universities and the like, attending open days, but also keeping a very keen eye out for overseas applications/information in Australia. Always will do, too.

I read Brisingr when it came out. It was alright. I enjoyed it, got into it, definitely got into the moment - particularly the funny and the tragic. He's changed his writing style some, though, which is kinda upsetting the way of the book - imo - since he's taken to more archaic language where he hasn't previously, disjointing the natural readings. Look forward to the next (and final) one, though. Hurry up, would ya, Mister?

I just spent over an hour writing a very special, very important, rather long journal. I can't even begin to rewrite the damn thing. So I'm going to give you bullet points, after putting bullets in the moodbox's face. Sorry, guys, but I went to change my mood and when I clicked the mood I wanted my firefox tab refreshed. WTF. The first two times it happened it didn't refresh, so FF recovered the text. The third time, unfortunately, it was gone with the wind.

1. Little Red Pen

PLEASE look at this blog.
It is a creative project for charity.
If you've ever wanted to offer help towards a charity or the like, but wanted to do more than shunt some loose change their way, look here. It's Sam's university project and has the aim of benefiting society by inspiring people with a little red pen.

1b. There is so much I have to say about this project, but it will have to wait. I'm too stroppy at dA right now. I'm also scared I'll lose it again - knowing my luck, even wordpad will lose the text. I'm not even bothering with HTML this time around. Quick and simple, just to get it out.

2. I leave for Aus this Sunday. Three days to go, yay.
2a. I haven't packed, but I'm working on it.
2b. I don't have a visa, but I'm doing it tomorrow.

I got a letter through from the NHS the other day. It's about giving blood and the like, but it's the coolest looking letter I've ever received in my whole (nearly eighteen years of) life. It's written like some of those weird serial killer letters. Bwahaha, go NHS - you kill enough people to qualify (I mean... love you)! So gonna start giving blood. Yay.

I had pancakes this morning for breakfast. What did you have? My brekkie was made with love by my mummy - oh, mummy, what will I ever do without you for the next two and a bit months?

Aaron has now been in the UK for one year exactly (well, considering it was a leap year, it was 366 days teehee). We're approaching two years together this September and it's his birthday tomorrow! So many wonderful things, hehe.

I have officially finished his birthday painting. I'll post photographs (including a WIP shot) once he's seen it tomorrow. It took roughly nine hours to complete, including sketch time (and some chatting on MSN as I went... Maxwell the Mysterious, haha).

I have some photographs of Aaron and I to share with you, too, but they're on the PC and I'm on my laptop. I'll put them up over the weekend (my younger brother took them) and we can all go "yay" hehe.

Aaron is everything I've dreamed of for so many years.

For those of you who want to know the girl sat behind the computer: recordings.

I sat my art exam yesterday and today and I must say that I am very proud of the result. It was an eight hour exam and I finished my piece in seven and a half hours. It's a black and white oil painting on a 16" by 20" canvas. I took a few photos on my cameraphone to try and upload, but the cable is dodgy and it refuses to connect properly to my laptop. So, no photos of my exam piece until after the exhibition, which will be some time in June. It's probably one of the best things I've ever painted, hehe. I came away covered from face to thighs in paint. My jeans are never gonna be the same again, haha, but luckily I took in a painting t-shirt. Although, somehow, I managed to get some on my belly. Ah well. Haha.

I finally managed to get a couple of pictures. Although my camphone won't connect, I managed to get a few pics through my webcam, haha. The actual brightness/contrast is somewhere between the two images. I just couldn't get it to take a decent image because 1. my webcam is crap; 2. the light reflected off the screen. What do you thinK?

It's Aaron's birthday next Saturday, so I'm going out tonight to buy another 16" by 20" canvas. Then I'll hunt for an image to paint and give to him for his birthday. We agreed that something artsy would be best, since we're saving up for Australia and he seems to enjoy most of my artwork. I'll post it as soon as it's done and received! I'll also start working on my "fourteen" songs, "fourteen" drawings project soon.

For now, though, I'm off to KFC. Yum.

For those of you who want to know the girl sat behind the computer: recordings.

I'm really glad that people are taking to my photographs of Hannah as well as they are - especially the Queen of Hollywood image (I'm quite proud of it, haha). It's received a few views and favourites, which is always nice to see... But you know what I really wish? I wish that the people who favourited would leave a quick comment saying what it is that they like so much about the image. This way, I know what I'm doing right and what to keep doing. I know that sometimes people are busy and can't always manage it, but surely not everybody is so busy?

I'd really like to say thanks to those of you who do comment, because it's nice to learn what you like/dislike. Especially what you dislike, because then I can work on it and improve. And also, thank you to those of you who do favourite, even if you don't comment. Haha.

As well as doing a drawing (whether digital or traditional), I may do a photograph for each, to help me there, too.

Unfortunately I won't be able to begin this for a week or two, since my art exam is in the first week of May. I really need to focus on that, at the moment.

My other exams don't add up to much, really. I do eight hours for art, then three hours English Lit on May 21st, then three hours of Philosophy on May 23rd. I have dropped Photography - the course isn't what I thought it would be, but I'll pick it up either out of school next year or in art school after college (where the instructors/teachers actually care about the quality of work). Then, after English Lit and Philosophy exams, I don't return to those classes until the 23rd of June - so I get a month off, but still go to art (hehe, that's cool) and then on the 29th of June I'm flying out to Australia!

They'll find your headstone in the yard with your black dress and my guitar. I'll carry you back to your grave where you and I will always stay. I close the casket, it gets dark - they'll find us in each other's arms.

For those of you who want to know the girl sat behind the computer: recordings.

Well, it's official - it's happening! We've got the flights booked and we leave from Gatwick on the 29th at 9:15 PM, arrive in Dubai at 7:10 AM. We then fly from Dubai at 10:05AM on the 30th and arrive in Perth at 12:55 AM on the 1st of July. On the way out we leave at 6AM from Perth, arrive in Dubai at 1:15 PM, leave there at 3PM and arrive in Gatwick at 7:35 PM.

I really cannot wait. I can't even express my excitement to you guys. We're going on a three-four week road trip from Perth up to Karratha and back down to Adelaide, stopping off in various places including Monkey Mia, Exmouth Bay, the Karijini National Park, Coral Bay and Port Augusta. I can't wait to meet Aaron's family. Some of them are going to be on holiday up near Karratha, but the "main" family are down near Adelaide - so I won't meet most of that part of the family for a while. But, I'll know his mum by then! Gosh, the nerves. Been together a year and a half and it's finally happening. Haha.

Anyways, I'm sure you've all heard me raving about going to Australia enough as it is. So I'll be silenced now. xD

For those of you who want to know the girl sat behind the computer: recordings.

Aaron and I were both hoping that we would be able to go to his home for the Summer. Unfortunately, flights don't come cheap, by any means. So we agreed that we'd save it and, even though the time would only be two-three weeks, go at Christmas. However, Christmas tickets have now soared above summertime tickets, so it looks like we're going to get the two months we hoped for, originally - if, big if, we can find the money.

It's going to be tricky.
But, we can do it.

It'll probably mean drawing up a few loan plans with both sets of parents, if only for a month or two just so we can secure our places on that damned airplane! I'm desperate to meet his family and friends and explore the place he grew up in. It would be a dream come true to get there. I just hope it goes ahead.

That's right! There's an update, and quite a positive one at that! With much hard work and bargain hunting, I've found a limited offer deal on tickets to Perth. Cheapest option yet and probably the most exciting. Aaron's mum, brother and brother's girlfriend are hoping to go on a roadtrip from Adelaide to Perth to Carratha and beyond for three or four weeks. We've been invited along and are going to be picked up in Perth on the way through. It's going to be fantastic! The only bad thing is that we have to have the money ready to book the flights in only fourteen days... Even then, the offer might have been sold out. So it's a major rush, but we're hoping to get there!

Going to Perth means that Aaron will get to catch up with Kat, and I'll get to meet ~Pair-Shaped and Brett after over a year of chatting online. I'm really looking forward to it, a great partial tour of Australia on my first trip there. It promises to be a memory of a lifetime.

I've decided to keep a little counter at the bottom of my journal, saying how much we have left to get for our trip. Heh. I've even got a little box I'm collecting all of my change in at the end of every day. So, if I spend money and get pennies, two-pence pieces or five-pence pieces in return, they go into the "Australia Fund". I'll keep tabs on that, too, partly for your interest, but mainly for my own records. Haha.

Leaving July 3rd, arriving July 4th. (Heathrow - Perth)
Leaving September 6th, arriving September 6th/7th. (Perth-Heathrow)

PS: Just finished watching Dancing on Ice: The Final Skate-Off. Big congratulations to Suzanne. Chris was my favourite all the way through, but after tonight, she truly deserved the title!

For those of you who want to know the girl sat behind the computer: recordings.

Yup, I turned seventeen yesterday.

I had a pretty good day. Got some great goodies, hehe. I got a gorgeous ring from my mum, along with two DVDs I've been wanting (Grease, which even comes with a sing-a-long edition on a seperate DVD; and My Fair Lady) and a really sweet pair of PJs from La Senza (it has a hedgehog on the tanktop that says "prickly in the mornings" and a really cute pair of shorts with the same thing. They even come with a pair of socks. It's ever so cute! Aaron got me some pretty and comfy undies. Teehee. TJ got me a CD: R&B Winter Collection 2007. Mum's partner, Shaun, got me The Fast and the Furious (three DVD) set and the Fergie (The Duchess) CD. Nan and granddad gave me a lovely necklace, a stationary set and thirty pounds. That's only the tip, too. Heh. It was a good time. = )

I even got a birthday cake, with trick candles! How unfair. Haha.

I stayed at Aaron's for the night. We watched Tokyo Drift, which wasn't as good as its predecessors, but was still pretty good. On Thursday I have a birthday party type thing. Movies, video games, pizza and booze. Haha. Promises to be good, since most people are crashing over, too.

I'm sure there was more I wanted to say, yesterday, but I've forgotten it all. Heh. Maybe I'll remember later - if so, there'll be an update, so keep an eye out. Hah.

I'm too tired to even consider making this journal half-decent, so you'll have to settle for this, which isn't a lot:

I started college last week. It's pretty good, I even start Photography tomorrow, since it wasn't running last week. Yayayay. However, some days I'm waking up before seven and that doesn't sit so well with me, especially considering how long it can take me to get to sleep. I was about to say "sometimes" or "some-times" or something to that effect, but now I'm not even sure if it's a word - yes, I read it and stared at it that much.

Mum has been in hospital since Tuesday. She's finally had her discectomy (I don't know how to spell it, so don't bitch). There's no more pain in her leg; she can even move her toes again (and feel them). Hopefully she will be home tomorrow. This week has been hard without her. I may be sixteen, but I'm my mummy's little girl and I do miss her. So does my brother, a lot.

Aaron and I have hit a "milestone" in our relationship, and a lovely one at that. In a sense of speaking, it's been a year. Isn't it brilliant how we get two anniversaries? His arrival and the psuedo-anniversary. Yeah. So we spent the day picnic-ing and enjoying the sunshine.

I'm too tired to keep going, but hey, you'll hopefully see more drawings and photography and the like, since I'm doing AS Art, Photography, English Lit and Philosphy. Oh, and Critical Thinking. Yay. --_--

Stuff, y'know?

Yes, stuff. PS: My title, they rawk.

Sorry I haven't really been around much, but love keeps me busy. It has been over a year Aaron and I have known each other, and he has now been here for three months and two days. Things are looking great. I just wanted to let you know that, hehe.

A couple of days ago we went on a little boat trip through the Norfolk Broads. Dad has been here for a week visiting and he took my brother, Aaron and I. It's a shame that the sun didn't really come out until the end of the boat trip, but we still had fun.

Tomorrow, my brother and I finally get to meet Shaun's (mum's boyfriend's, well... mum's fiance's) kids. We're going to Surrey and having a picnic, as long as the weather permits. Hopefully it does.

Next Thursday I get my exam results. I'm nervous, heh. There is no way I can live up to the standard of results they set as my potential, but it'd be nice! Once I find out, I may - or may not, depending on the results, lol - post them in a journal. >.> The new school year starts incredibly soon and I am really looking forward to it. Art, English Lit, French and Photography. YEAH! Oh, that reminds me, I have some summer work I had to do for French. Heh. Can anyone recommend me a good French movie to watch? Then I have to do a mini-report on a region of France and look out for newspaper articles regarding France. Heh. Best get started.

I've recently started reading a lot again. It's great. I really missed getting lost in a good book. Laying out on a blanket in the back garden with Aaron and a couple of books is just wonderful. Truly.

I think that's about it for now, but I'll try to keep updated more and maybe come back and write a poem or two. No promises. xD

Oh, and, for Aaron's sake, I'm making this a public announcement: The Dresden Dolls aren't... as bad as I said they were. Maybe I even kinda like them. >.>

Many Things and Thanks

There are a great many things I'd like to discuss in this journal (my first for a very long time - you have my apologies for this, if it bothered you in any manner, if you missed me or otherwise, hehe), however, there is an actual purpose to its creation.

I'd like to say thanks to *Sanctus-Malus for my new one year subscription to deviantART, it means a lot to me, 'cause dA simply isn't the same without it. This will probably be one of my last journals with this CSS however, because I have a little surprise up my sleeve. Muahahaha.

Also, in advance, I'd like to apologise for the lack of detail in the journal features, but at current I haven't much time to go on and review the poems, etc, but the judges deemed them worthy, surely that's enough convincing? Haha.

Aaron: So, we both know that this is overdue, but we've been enjoying ourselves WAY too much... yet, not enough.

Chloe: I'm sitting here, licking Aaron's cheek wondering what the Hell I'm meant to say. Was it everything I expected? Everything and more. Is Aaron everything I expected? Haha. NO. He's incredible beyond reason... Just when I thought I'd find a flaw in person, there's no such evidence. Sorry guys, but Gods do exist on Earth. xD

Aaron: She jests, though she did spend half of this afternoon pulling hairs out of my face AND she keeps trying to make me call home, "For their sake," she says. Despite all of that, this has truly been a great week and a half. I don't think I've ever felt so content in my life. Chloe is one of the most amazing people that I've ever come across, and to finally meet her has been an honour. I'm just full of compliments tonight. Lol.

Chloe: Well, I'd compliment him more, but there's a bulge pressing against my back as we cuddle... Whether or not it's compliment worthy, well... I'll let you find out on your own (NEVER).

Y'know what? I really, really wish I knew the answer to that question! As soon as I can find a flight tracking site that will let me track his flights, I'll let you know, too! Haha. At this very moment in time, Aaron is flying across several thousand miles to live in a country he's never even visited. I say that's bravery. POMETRY

Okay. So, I'm reading some Carol Ann Duffy stuff for my English Literature exam (yes, that's the cluster with Armitage and Browning, too). Anyways, some people in a comment board were saying how they feel she is disturbed on many levels. Yeah, well, I really like some of her writing (although some of it is a little hard to grasp on the first reading, imo). So I decided I'd read some more of her poetry. So I did.

First I read 'War Photographer', which actually grasped me a fair bit. Azza baby thinks it's interesting watching me get so into readings when I enjoy a poem. Hehe. Then I read 'Miles Away'. I think I fell in love with a poem.

I want you and you are not here. I pause
in this garden, breathing the colour thought is

One Month!

Today is April sixteenth. Aaron arrives on May sixteenth; and I cannot wait! Thirty days and I can finally hold him in my arms and make so many months of yearning be for reason. Every moment has been worth it.

I love you, Aaron Jai Vines, what more could I say?

Happenings

Today I had my hair cut; woot. I had it trimmed (about an inch and a half), had some more layers added in and had my fringe fixed so that it frames my face again. Let me tell you, I really like the hairdresser that I saw - she was a sweetheart.

I return to school tomorrow, so those of you who have enjoyed having me around on dAmn, I am really sorry! I will try to be around on evenings and weekends, etc. School tomorrow means my first GCSE exam is on Friday (French oral). Since my exams are so close now, I will put my exam schedule back in at the bottom of this journal.

Dentis and hospital (for foot) next Monday; X-Factor next Tuesday; art exam on Wednesday and Thursday. Fun stuff. [Yes, hehe, I am nervous!]

I did my two photoshoots and I'm really proud of the outcome! Thanks to both ~bolddog (Becky) and Lauren for modelling for me. Norwich & Sudbury: Model?

I told myself I wouldn't do this, mainly because I'm sixteen and I have little experience. However, that's a bit of a catch-22 isn't it? If you don't have experience, but don't ask for the help getting it - you'll never have any. So here I am.

If there is anybody (with some form of experience, preferably) in the Norwich area that is willing to give up some time and model for a photoshoot with me in the near future, could you please contact me? [Shoot will be fully clothed and I'd also really love to do a couple's shoot - they look like fun.] Either e-mail or note me (and if possible provide me with picture reference) and we can discuss details and all of that jazz.

Meet Ups

~~Tomorrow I'm meeting James (*J2046) at ten AM at the Norwich train station. We're gonna have a really super-awesome day and are going to have perma-grins plastered to our faces. Haha.~~

We had an amazing day! James helped me get over some of my inhibitions with photographing random people in the street. Hell, we even became honorary temporary hobos in the underground walkways after getting a photograph of a sleeping one! Haha. We had a blast walking around, exploring the two cathedrals and all the churches and the open air exhibition (which is simply fantastic, btw). We also explored the writings on a building (an entire building covered with white writing about Utopia).

On Saturday =carbon-12 is totally driving to Norwich to see me. Weehee! It should be fun - even if we don't know what the Hell we're doing yet.

On either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (possibly more than one of those and maybe even all of those) I'll be meeting up with James again. This time in Manningtree - and he has a free invite back to my place (woo, mum) any time he likes. So maybe he'll come back around here again some time soon. Fun stuff!

One month and two weeks. Six weeks. Aaron arrives at 9.15 on May 16th - considering how long we have been waiting for that day to come around, it feels like it'll be next week! Hehehe. I can't wait to meet him out the front of my school gate after he's rested up and I've done my exams and whatnot.

Life

Shaun (mum's boyfriend) has just accepted an offer on the house he and his ex-wife used to live in. So he's finally selling/sold that! His divorce is finalised six weeks from this Wednesday (wow, hah, that's just around when Aaron's here) and then he's moving in with us, very likely! How totally awesome is that? I know he and mum are very happy about it; and it will be kind of nice to have him around that much more!

I've posted another two WIP pictures of 'Bite Me' which can be found in my scraps. Oh what a seriously screwed up painting, I may just give up. "But I ain't, no I ain't no quitter!" <- Shaddap Shania, I AM (NOT).

I just want to drop a line about one of the places I'm on staff for, *TheFavoritesProject. Here, we search through the poetry galleries and suggest what we deem to be some of the better poems here for a feature. All of the staff then vote and from that, a feature is chosen and posted in a deviation along with appraisals about what us, the staff, liked and didn't like about the poem.

Lens Adapter: Woot!

My lens adapter arrived a few days ago and I have been playing with it. I'm no-where near used to the weight of my 75-300mm lens, so I'm finding it quite hard to keep steady. I have, however, been playing with it as I attempt to get used to it and learn how to handle it properly. I also have the capability of playing with my 50mm lens, as a result of the adapter. They're both interesting - I think I'll have fun with them!

Easter Holidays

Well, it's my second day of the Easter holidays. I should be in Florida right now, but y'know? Sometimes things don't work out like you hope.

As James couldn't come today, due to work, he'll be coming to Norwich on Tuesday. Hopefully then I can go to Manningtree and witness his kiteboarding/surfing first hand - it looks incredible from the photographs I have seen. It's truly the way to fly. Shaun arrives Tuesday night, and will have my copy of DreamWeaver 6.0 (I think it's 6, anyways) so I can start properly on a real website, which I keep starting up and stopping 'cause I simply cannot be bothered to learn the HTML. Which reminds me, I need to get another external hard-drive so I can have one for all of my photography, 'cause my laptop will be overrun one day soon! XD I also need to get a new webcam, as after weeks of wire trouble, it has finally died. May it rest in piece... o.O

The rest of my family will be here by Friday and are staying for a while, I do believe. Hopefully I can talk my aunt into modelling for me, as I'd really love to use her as a subject. (Plus, she used to work at a photography studio, so perhaps she can help me a little bit with the portraiture side of things, if I can get her to come along on the shoot with either Karlanell or Emma.) I'm also hoping to get to London to see Simon. Yay.

Dawn of A New Day: Spring Arrives

Yes, Spring has finally properly arrived! After tempting us for a week with 16C weather and sunshine, it decided to snow, sleet, hail and rain. However, temperatures are picking up again (today being around 13C - tomorrow hopefully up at 16C), the sun is out and it's beautiful! All of the flowers are blooming and God, it makes me so happy.

I've been sitting down (talking to myself, hehe) thinking that I needed a new CSS code. I was going to try and make one myself - I wanted faeries and Spring colours. When I searched the Journal CSS section of dA, however, I found more than inspiration. I found an amazing deviant who creates CSS coding and journal designs and shares them. What does she ask for in return? Not a whole lot: credit.

So I want to say thank you to *Lilyas for making this coding available. It's beautiful, no?

With Spring Comes Flowers!

They're beautiful, and I love them very much (even if they do make my eyes dry and itchy, sometimes watery; my nose itchy and sore). And as it stands, I've been playing around with flowers and my camera (and my new filters, weehee). But that's for the next section.

Photography Anyone?

Thanks to *DRYEO I now have the following filters: Red, UV, Circular Polariser. Also, something I didn't realise, my Olympus SLR's 75-300mm lens has a Skylight Filter on it. So I'll play with that one, soon, too (even if I am told it's similar to the UV one).

Tonight I'm buying my adapter ring so that I can use my 75-300mm on my Canon, which promises to be good. I also have a smaller lens, although I can't remember what mm that is off the top of my head, for my Olympus that I'll be able to use then. Fun stuff, guys! I'm adoring this.

Speaking of which, James, *J2046, is very possibly (likely) to come to Norwich this weekend for a day and we're gonna go have some fun with our cameras (and I'm gonna leech his amazing photography skills, haha). I also want to stop off at the Open Air Exhibition at the Forum; mum says it's amazing.

School

School's going well at the moment, save one certain person who refuses to do any work when in partners/groups. It's frustrating, and to be honest, I'm putting my foot down good and firm and letting her fail unless she does the work herself.

My exams start very soon (my French oral being April 21st). I have a rough idea of my exam dates, but I'll wait for my final confirmation before I post them up here. However, I can tell you that my final exam is June 29th (Further Mathematics - 10th GCSE, to be precise) and that after that I AM A FREE WOMAN!

I have decided that instead of taking on the hassle of five A-Levels, I'm going to settle with the four (Art, English Literature, French, Photography) and drop History (as I honestly don't see it taking me anywhere - sorry Nazi Germany, I'll study you further in my own time as I enjoyed learning about you). As for that English degree followed by a teaching course, that's an idea that's being set on a balance with another degree. I won't say anymore until I've got a better idea after my AS year.

I break up from school this Thursday (mine's the only one around here closed on Friday, suckers) and then I'm off for two weeks, two days. When I return I only have twenty-seven (I believe) school days left until the end of the year. How nerve wracking is that? The holidays promise to be good, as I will have some family (Nan, Grandad [and their dog, Bobby], Uncle J (Jeff), Aunty D (Donna), Zachary (cousin - 7), India-May (cousin - 1.5) and my Great-Aunty Sonia) over (as well as mum's boyfriend, hehe, yay). I'll hopefully finally fit in those photo shoots that I have been working up with a few people, as the weather threw away some plans for those previously. I seriously need this break, 'cause my stress levels are so far through the roof that's it's messing up my head, my sleeping patterns, my relationships and so much more. I'll heave a huge sigh of relief on Thursday afternoon - THREE MORE DAYS! Yipee.

New CSS/Header

Yes, I have yet ANOTHER new CSS layout, only this time it comes fully equipped with an awesome header as made by *Sanctus-Malus who went through Hell and back with several tens of versions for until I finally decided. This will probably (possibly) be updated with a new version which has silver and red writing instead of just silver. We'll see.

May 17th

So, y'know how I've been bragging about how =Tuksha's gonna come and stay with me (forevers and evers)? Well, it's official. My mum has said that he can stay with us for a week or so (possibly until the end of May) until he can move into his own place. If this place is nearer to my college than my house, then I may just stay with him Sun(night)-Thurs and spent Fri/Sat/Sun(day) at home. If not, then I'll definitely be staying weekends with him, as long as mum will let me.

Not only will May 17th be special because of that, but it will also be his twenty-first birthday. So we get our first kiss, hug and cuddle on his twenty-first. It's going to be amazing. You wait, baby, we're gonna make it to the top (and never come down again)!

New CSS

Yes, I know... It's BRIGHT! Oh my golly-goshkins, your poor, poor eyes! HAH! This is only a temporary one until I actually come up with something I really like. I got sick and tired of that pink and brown. =O Yup, so this'll do in the mean time.

Go show =Tuksha some love, because he deserves it, and what I say goes... Hah. No, seriously: I haven't been the happiest bunny, but Aaron keeps me going and always makes me smile. I love him to absolute bits. I cannot wait for him to show up on May 18th; it'll be amazing!

Also, encourage him to write more poetry and to do more photography! He must, must, must! But will he listen to me? Noooo.

Song Writing

So, those of you who talk to me on MSN/AIM/dAmn all know that song writing has been consuming me... So much so that I can't even produce poetry (yes, I know, lyrics are a form of poetry, don't give me that) right now. However, it's paid off. I have finally completed a melody line and lyrics to a song!

Visits Come and Gone!

So, Miguel and Laonicos have come and gone. And let me tell you, the visit was amazing!

We went ice skating on the Saturday (I think), which was awesome until the argument with the owner of the rink, who was everything in this country I detest, and wish I never came back to! We also went to the movies and saw Borat, the night before, which -- need I say -- was hilarious! Although, at some times, the humour wasn't that interesting. It definitely had its moments, though! We had loads of trouble with the train station's lost and found with Laonicos' bright green i-Pod, but got it in the end! On the Sunday we went bowling with Becky, Daniel and Hannah, and then went on to Nando's, which was apparently too spicy for Miguel's liking. Miguel left on Monday morning, took a coach to the aeroport and flew home. That night, Laonicos and I, watched Analyze That, which was a damn good movie, and then the next day said goodbye. Oh, and on the Saturday we also went to Wells-by-the-Sea, from which we all have some pictures(Miguel even has a movie). So all in all the visit was amazing.

Visitors!

I have a lot of amazing news regarding visitors, what can I say?

Tomorrow Miguel arrives at 7:30 (aeroport).
Thursday Laonicos arrives (train station).

On Friday night we're going ice skating! That promises to be a blast, because we're all going as the closest of friends, together... At least! Then, on Saturday we're going into Wells-by-the-Sea, and we're going to wander the sands and play. There will be A LOT of photography going on - I promise. Then, on Sunday we're going bowling with some of my friends, and later going to Nando's with them for dinner. Monday I will take the day off of school, and we'll find out what happens as it goes! Miguel leaves late that evening, and Laonicos the following day. Nonetheless, it's amazing - is it not!? I cannot wait to meet them, as I have already waited so long.

Also, Aaron has finally got the MSN friend-request-accept he has been waiting for from my mum!

Not only have I spoken to his mum and be welcomed to his home, but he has now spoken to mine, and been welcomed to this home. I cannot wait for us to use those open-arm invitations. Here's to Aaron visiting me on May 19th (yes, the date of my prom)!

Exams!

Due to doctor's visits and hospital visits, I ended up missing three and a half days of school last week. I was given a second inhaler (I now have Becotine and Ventolin) and sent for chest x-rays. I return on Wednesday for those results, and for my doctor to see how the Becotine Inhaler has helped - it hasn't - and he will decide further direction from there.

Unfortunately, this also meant that - as well as getting a step closer to a solution - I missed four exams. I am currently making up my Science (Option) exam. Two more half-hour sessions through two lunch-times, and I'll have one completed. *Sighs*

11. I'm really sorry that your daughter has cancer, I know it's particularly hard because you lost your husband only recently. You're a great influence on my school life, and we won't let you down whilst you are with your daughter. My love, hope and best wishes to you and your family.

In other news, I have figured out why it is that I like photography, literature and music oh-so-very-much. Well, I have figured out one of the many reasons, during a discussion with ~cheshireflare. My reasoning is this:

"Because photography lets me capture things that won't live forever, and lets me watch things from behind glass - like on a television or computer screen, so it doesn't seem so real. And it doesn't matter as much on a scale of seriousness. And writing lets me create an alternative reality, which I feel during photography and other times. And music lets me live the two."

In other news, =PoetryPlease has a new section (though, unannounced as yet) which is the PoetryPlease Classroom, sort of. ~cheshireflare runs ~Professor-Flare, a classroom where you can learn the ins and outs of poetry, and participate in activities and more.

Professor Flare [David] is the reason I am where I am in poetry. He helped me for quite some time before a year long disappearance, and is back now and teaching me again. He's a fantastic friend, and a marvelous person, and I love what he's doing to help the community. Check him, and the classroom, out. Leave them some love.

  I just want to say thank you, first of all, to those of you who sent me little voice recordings (just now) on MSN singing/wishing me a happy birthday. And thank you to =ordie and ~Tuksha who both sent me gifts (amazing guys, they are); so thank you Aaron, darling! Thank you Miguel, hun! Thank you to *thecoolbeane who sang happy birthday on MSN! And thanks to =bewareofthesnowman who tried to send me an awesome card that didn't want to work.
  
  So, it's totally my sixteenth birthday! This rocks.
  
  So far I've opened a present... or two... A few days early:
  
  Aaron's gift: The Element Encylopedia of Magical Creatures
  Miguel's gift: Poesia Inglesa and Les Aventures de Tintin Le Lotus Bleu. Yeah, they're totally awesome. And now I've got some French to practice thanks to Miguel, some poetry to catch up on (too) and some totally kickass Magical creatures to learn about thanks to Aaron. <3
  
  I've also opened the present from my dad, ~Magik-Hekate. It's a Canon EOS 350D which is totally awesome. I am going to have some major fun with this camera (Watch out dA!) once I have bought a CF card!!! Hehehe.

  Hello everybody.
  
  So I was just sitting in front of my computer, getting very angry at my little brother. He was being a pest, as all little brothers do. My mum came upstairs, and decided that instead of having a go at me, she would talk to me and make me feel guilty. Well, she didn't only suceed at that, but I think she really opened my eyes to something.
  
  My little brother is missing his dad so much at the moment, that he told my mum he isn't happy living with us. He wants dad. He always wants dad. I want dad too, but there's something amazing in him.
  
  That was just yesterday. Again today. I think we might have to let him go; he is going next November for a week - all on his own. What if he decides he doesn't want to come home? Who will I tuck into bed at night? Who will I yell at? Who will yell at me, if not mum? Who will joke with me? Who will throw silly tantrums and end up in hysterical fits of laughter with me?
  
  Who will be my little man?

  So, it's another day at home for me. I woke up to something heavy sitting on my stomach (ow, piercing, ow). My mum looks at me and immediately she can see my face saying WTF! So I pick it up and begin to open it, noting the name and address on the back. It's from Aaron, yay! I open it up (several layers, got enough?) and get to this rather large book. I stole his saying, mentally. ZOMG. I read the book's title, The Element Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures, by John and Caitlin Matthews. OH MAN.
  
  I immediately looked up Fairies, and oh man - I looked through the book. It's amazing. He's amazing. Oh, and the card... Was gorgeous. And the message was cute. *Giggles*

  So, there's this little club by the name of ~TerseVerse. It was originally kicked into shape by ~RenascentPhoenix, who opened the dAmn chatroom #TerseVerse.
  
  Well, this little club has evolved into a three person collaboration. ~RenascentPhoenix (AKA ~StoneAnnexCipher), =ordie and ~GoodbyeLovely are now working together to bring you the new and improved TerseVerse!

  So, today I finished writing this mini-collection of poems. It's entitled An Atlantic Divorce.
  
  The mini-collection consists of five small poems:

  Of Pinks and Pearls
  
  These five poems all express a journey surrounding the topic of "Divorce", as dictated by =SecretAsylum in his monthly contest. This is, of course, what the poems were written for and submitted to dA for - I am also hoping they will help me get that one step further in recovery, etc. So it's a happy day indeed. I thoroughly enjoyed writing them, and hope that you will enjoy reading them!

  As any of you watching my scraps would have noticed, I have begun playing around with poetic forms. Yesterday I wrote a Shadorma entitled My Master Doesn't Love Me and a Dodoitsu entitled By Means of Drought.
  
  They were both simple attempts at different poetic forms. I was also going to attempt a Lai and a Tyburn, but half-way through the Lai I gave up, because I am hopeless when it comes to rhyming such short syllable lines.

  Hey everybody!
  
  As I mentioned earlier, I now have PDMenus, thanks to the help of =SecretAsylum. However, I also did some looking into CSS and I found a way to make text flash, and worked at adding pictures.
  
  My pictures are, yes, ambigrams. My main journal image is an ambigram of "Virtual Reality", and the title image is an ambigram of "Creativity". I have found a lot of other neat ambigrams, which I hope to incorporate in the future, but we all have to start somewhere - and I'm building myself up from basics!

  I just want to take this time to apologise to you all for the spamming of journals today. I allowed a friend to use my journal to practice his CSS for; let me tell you, it's really taking shape! Most of them didn't go through to be real journals, but there was the odd one that accidentally went through, so I'd like to apologise for that! They have been deleted now, as you can probably tell.
  
  I hate doctors with a vengeance.
  
  So, I went to the doctors today. It turns out that it's not a chest infection - which is fantastic - but rather that it is tracheitis. Now, tracheitis is only meant to last a week or so... But I fear that won't be the case with me, it never is. My friend LeAnne has the same problem and it's been months for her. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do for it, unless it lasts more than two weeks. If it lasts more than two weeks they give you Erythromicin. However, that is the ONE antibiotic I am allergic to. Oh the irony!
  
  So we left the doctor's office and went to my school, because I've been ordered not to go in for the rest of the week. I should receive some work from the teachers (boohoo) to do tomorrow and Friday (oh joy).

  Hey everybody!
  
  As you (hopefully) can see, I finally have that menu working! Well, I couldn't have done it without =SecretAsylum. I stole his coding from his journal and played around with it, fixed the HTML to myself, etc, but it still wouldn't work... So we had a chat and he noted me the CSS I needed - that's where I went wrong, I was missing part. Hah. Well, after a few attempts at changing width values and visibility, etc, it's finally up! I might add one or two more throughout odd journals, in case I want to send you places, or feature people/things/places. Or, just because.
  
  I hate doctors with a vengeance.
  
  So, I went to the doctors just over an hour ago. Well, two hours ago actually; we had to wait nearly half an hour. It turns out that it's not a chest infection - which is fantastic - but rather that it is tracheitis. Now, tracheitis is only meant to last a week or so... But I fear that won't be the case with me, it never is. My friend LeAnne has the same problem and it's been months for her. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do for it, unless it lasts more than two weeks. If it lasts more than two weeks they give you Erythromicin. However, that is the ONE antibiotic I am allergic to. Oh the irony!
  
  So we left the doctor's office and went to my school, because I've been ordered not to go in for the rest of the week. I should receive some work from the teachers (boohoo) to do tomorrow and Friday (oh joy).

  I'm home ill - so I took the time to muck around at various websites and deviant pages to look at CSS codes. @nyssi's one is awesome, and so is her tutorial. Feel like you don't understand any of that CSS coding? Go read her info and it'll all become clear(er).
  
  However, I'm still looking to make a nav-menu. I have hunted across several sites and made so many varying codes, but none of them work for this reason or that reason and it's frustrating. Yesterday I saw a deviant with some amazing menus... I just can't remember the devname, or I'd pester them for help. Haha.
  
  Newsy News
  
  Anyways, new newsy news: My mum has booked a week(+) away with her boyfriend in Las Vegas. They're going on a business trip together and will be working part of the time - my brother will be in Florida... And I? I will be here, all on my lonesome because I couldn't go to Florida due to mock exams. Oh the joys.
  
  My mum will also be gone for up to a week prior to that because she's going on another conference with Shaun, but my nan and grandad will be here with my brother and I for that one, so it won't be as bad.
  
  Birthdays
  
  My birthday is in twelve days, Filby's birthday (~7ilby) is in fourteen days and Holly's birthday (~Hollyday) is in sixteen days. Luke's birthday is also in twelve days, but I have forgotten his dA username - oopsies. =SecretAsylum and ~pipesmokingpoet also have birthdays coming up! My younger brother's birthday and Tia's birthday (~ScorpioWaterAngel) are approaching in November, my dad's and Miguel's (=ordie) in December and my nan's, my grandpa's and my mum's in January. Oh, and did I mention Christmas? Wow, what a Hellish time of the year! Hahaha. Ah well, it's all good.
  
  Concerts / Theatre
  
  I might be going to see Evanescence in London on November 20th! I have already seen them once, when I lived in Florida at the TD Waterhouse - AMAZING - I cannot wait to see them again! I might also be going to London to see Evita, and to the Theatre Royal (local in Norwich) to see Chicago. Next year our drama group is planning a trip to London, too, we might go see Lion King. Hehe.
  
  Oh, and we saw Thalidomide, The Musical during my month without internet - it's amazing. It features two amazingly talented people including the sister of Kate Winslet and the producer/writer/composer/etc of the show! If you want to know more I'm sure you can probably find it online - or you could wait for the review I have to write (once I get around to it).

  Hey everybody!
  
  You'll never guess what this journal is about - that's right - I'm back! Quite a few of you have noticed (as my notes, message centre, e-mail inbox, text inbox, etc indicate) that I have been gone for a bit. I blame my internet provider. You see, I moved on the sixteenth of September and was meant to have internet within five working days. However, five working days became ten, which became more... And more... After a long string of lies from the provider, trouble getting in touch with them (and more) we finally have internet and I can visit you lovely people here on DeviantART again!

  There is NO pressure what-so-ever. *Rolls her eyes.* My mock exams are drawing ever nearer, and those will be the biggest indications as to how I am going to do on my final exams next year.
  
  I am drawing up a final list of colleges/sixth-forms I am going to apply to. I have noted dates of open days (etc) and will be visiting them appropriately. I spent a lot of my day today at UEA gathering information so that I know what courses I want to take (in two and a half years' time) require. I also gathered some information for my friend Miguel who's interested in UEA - now to mail it all. xD
  
  I believe I have everything set out. For A-Levels I will do English Lit (or English Lit/Lang joint course), French, Art and Philosophy (although I am strongly considering changing this to History). I will also do a photography course. Hopefully I'll be good enough at studio photography to get some form of job through it, perhaps open my own studio. I will then further my studies by completing a degree in English (I'm gonna get a Ph.D. too so you can all call me Dr. from then on! Hah!) which I am considering doing as a joint course with History. Another option I am considering is furthering my French, to which I can add Spanish from scratch in a joint degree and spend a year abroad (half-year Spain, half-year France). Anyways, I hope to keep photography going as a business and also be a professor for English (and/or History) in a college/university! We'll see though, I'm still only fifteen (though not for long, hah).
  
  During my time away from the computer I spent time away from the radio and the television (not that I really ever watch that anyways) as well; it was WONDERFUL. I got back into reading and read some good books including Toni Maguire's Don't Tell Mummy and Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian. I am currently borrowing Mien Kampf from a friend of mine. Please do not assume this makes me a Neo-Nazi; I am not; I never will be. Thank you.
  
  I have an SLR camera now! My mum's boyfriend gave it to me. I will get film, batteries, etc soon and test it (and the super cool lenses that I have) out.
  
  My birthday is approaching, and quick! It will be two weeks tomorrow and I will be sixteen. I keep asking myself where the years have gone, but I can never answer myself. As a result I've been revisiting my childhood through music. It's funny that I still listen to the stuff I grew up with... Madonna, Mariah Carey, Pulp, Celine Dion, Gina G, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Elvis, Johnny Cash and God knows what else, too! Only... Today I revisited a different part of that childhood, by listening to things such as Billie Piper's Honey to the B and B*Witched's self-titled album. I even had some distinct memories pop into my head like film-strips. Good times, bad times, just times...
  
  Thanks to Laonicos ( =jujimufu ) who uses CSS in his journals now... I kinda messed around with colours and different ideas for hours and just settle for this - I quite like it. Who knows, it'll probably change every other week or something until I find one that I REALLY like.
  
  There was so much more I was going to say, but I suppose all of the rambling has taken over... Why doesn't that surprise me?

  What do I mean by prompt?
  
  I mean the following: I have various excerpts of things that I began to write, but never finished - that's what I am leaving up to you.
