It's fine to make cartoons for grownups. To say it isn't is like saying adults shouldn't have any live-action shows or movies, because some live-action shows or movies are for kids. It's even like saying adults shouldn't eat food because some food is intended for children, like Ring Pops or Kids Cuisine. I don't stop my husband from eating truckload after truckload of Kids Cuisine frozen dinners, which are his favorite food. He is 35 years old and he loves those meals more than any child ever could, and there is nothing in that but pure beauty. In fact, when he gets home from work he refuses to come in the house unless I show him that I have at least five Kids Cuisine dinners on hand, and he refuses to speak to me until he has a properly heated dinosaur-shaped chicken strip in his mouth, which he may spit out and throw at me if it's too hot or cold, and I don't complain because there's nothing wrong with this. Everyone has their quirks. And if anyone were to ever say to him that he shouldn't eat Kids Cuisine products just because they are intended for children, that would be ignorant, and mean, and he would get very angry at them and for good reason. I haven't talked to my sister in twelve years because of her narrowmindedness on this issue.

My husband has developed pretty severe health problems as a result of his addiction to these meals, but I don't mind taking him to dialysis three times a week because he is my husband and I love him. And I love Kids Cuisine products, because they make him so happy. The only thing I don't love about Kids Cuisine products is that they do not come in Hungry Man-sized portions, which causes my husband to go through a minimum of 25 boxes a day. If Kids Cuisine products were more like Family Guy in that they made a version specifically for grown men to enjoy, my life would be a lot easier and my back would hurt a lot less because I could buy fewer boxes per week. This is why Family Guy needs to exist and is, in my opinion, one of America's greatest cultural achievements in recent memory.

and AS I WAS JUST WARNING MYSELF, my thoughts were interrupted when I got a phone call from my academic advisor at school!

me: "oh...." (TRYING NOT TO SOB) "nothing much!" :D (I was then super amused at my own trying not to cry at such a question so I cheered right up vocally, hahahha p.s. WHAT ARE YOU GUYS UP TO :D????)

then I had this talk with her about my job, and like, the people at my school are generally SUPER friendly and I never get the feeling they're just getting personal with me because they're supposed to because of an actual vibe I get -- especially with her cuz she is a freakin' mega sweetie -- but like, due to me "KNOWING HOW IT WORX" (wtf) I always figure they ARE just talking to me to be nice and I shouldn't be too talkative and waste their time, hahha. but so, she's like, "omg your job sounds so great!!" and I'm like "uh huh, not really :D" and then she asked me how creative I had to be to hold such a job :D and I'm like ohhhhh I get it, she doesn't want to be doing this job :D and I told her creativity was not needed and if anything hinders you, and she was like "wow neat!!!" and also "I'M JEALOUS :D"

then I was playing with Ranma while I talked to her and she heard him meowing at me and she was like "OMG YOU HAVE CATS :D???" and then told me all about HER cats, and we talked about things cats eat, and how cats talk, and how her cats sleep with her, and how she grew up with cats, and I said something like "ok well I'll let you go now! :D" but the conversation kept going and then I was saying something or other and she burst out with "I MISS MY CATS :D :D :D" and I'm like "ahah?" and she's like "I NEVER GET TO SEE THEM ;____:" and I'm like "aww that is a terrible shame" (which sounds sarcastic when I type it, but I said it sincerely!) and she said she was going to Cancun in a week and she won't get to see them THEN either. and I said "aww, well, no wonder you want a webmaster job." and she said "YEAH." and then we KEPT TALKING :D but finally she was like "well, talk to you later.... if you ever wanna talk about school or cats call me!!!!!"

and yes, I realized she just wanted to keep me on the phone so she wouldn't have to call someone else and get on with her job :D and now I'm remembering the FIRST lady who was my academic advisor really sounded like she had a gun to her head, and shortly after I met her I was informed she was BEING REPLACED, and then I got this girl, hahahah.

so, before I was thinking about what a horrible loser I am because I haven't achieved anything and I let my mom keep me locked up in this apartment and control my life because I don't have the wherewithal to shake her off and I hate my job but no matter what I do I can't quit unless I want to be really mean, but after I got off the phone with this lady I felt SUPER BAD for her and was guiltily thankful I'm at least not stuck in HER situation :D also her phone call timing and our perfect conversation were STRAIGHT OUTTA TV, AS USUAL :D so yes, HOORAY

a lot of my things that I say transfer into both the digital world and the real world but some things do not!!

- irl I say "danke schön" more often than any other form of thank you but online I almost never say that !! (I think it's cuz "thx" is so much easier; basically thx is abbreviation for "danke schön" and if I am talkingn to someone to whom I shouldn't be abbreviating I figure I also shouldn't be speaking Yugoslavian so I go and write it in English)

- online I say "eep" a lot but irl I would say "euyuughh" as I never say eep ever (I have an appreciation for it as "something Bart has said" but it actually ISN'T CARTOONISH enough for me so I go with euyuughh)

- I also say "sacre bleu" a lot irl and not nearly as much online

- I think I swear more offline

- oh shit I also say "INCROYABLE" all the fucking time irl and I never say that online

- I say a lot of things in Spanish with a southern accent and I know I do not repeat those online because there is no humor without the accent

in general though I don't get the non-English thing cuz I am always happy to speaka japarese online so what is it with me and avoiding other languages

anyway first I was just gonna do this in reply since I'm not a DA journal entry person unless I'm writing about torturing my neighbor but then TWO MORE PEOPLE TAGGED ME so fff now I guess replying would be extremely rude not to just one person but to three people and aaah...

1. I've been on and off of coffee since I was 2 1/2 years old. THIS IS WHY I AM SO SCREWED UP KIDS.
2. Every time I eat something crumbly I get a bunch of crumbs on MY RIGHT SHOULDER. I don't know how this can work but whatever it is IT'S DISGUSTING??????? (And I'm not asking that; I'm using question marks instead of exclamation points to express my bewilderment????????)
3. I feel like the only Talking Heads fan I know who doesn't have a crush on David Byrne. This includes the males.
4. I've been wearing the same Wal-Mart capsule machine necklace for six months and I'm still waiting for this thing to fall off. I haven't removed it for a second cuz it's one of those leather-ish string things you tie on? And once you tie them on they're not really meant to be untied or maybe I just give up too easily? At first the charm hung really close to my neck too but now I think it might be stretched enough to fit over my head so I could actually take it off whenever I want, but that's cheating; I want it to fall off. I just love how any more-expensive necklace would have given in by now. :3 Genuine Wal-Mart quality is only available at 50 cents and lower! (I don't even know what I'm talking about)
5. I make up alternate spellings for words pretty often but I usually never feel comfortable enough to use them because I'm afraid nobody will have a clue what I'm trying to say. The one I tend to let out is spelling o words with h's on the end (Yumikoh, noh, goh) but I also have a thing for putting e's on things, like "donte" instead of "don't" but even though that's often how I THINK don't should be spelled in my head I pretty much never write it that way cuz I'm afraid people will think I'm trying to say Dante or something. I donte really do New Year's resolutions but I do often go through periods where I think "you know what I should really just quit fucen explaining myself to people because nobody to whom I have to explain a little detail like that is really going to be interested in what I'm saying anyway" but I don't do it because I am a WUSS who THRIVES ON APPROVAL. I need to STOP THIS SERIOUSLY. I've got to be more of a weirdo. It's WHO I AM! It's FRAUDULENT for me to spell everything THE NOOOORMAL way. If I'm going to attract people I'll be afraid of scaring off I'll probably spend our entire relationship walking on eggshells anyway. 7. I wrote that whole last part not wearing any pants because I took off my jeans to change into my pajamas, noticed my pajamas weren't in the bathroom, and then was too lazy to go find them so I just came back to the computer not wearing pants. It was cold. It was too cold for that to have been appropriate.

I'm sewing and selling right now. my mom and I are hoping to move to a different apartment. it'll only have one bedroom so I gotta sleep in the living room (eh) but it'll also have CEILING FANS and a PLACE TO HOOK UP A DRYER!! plus it won't smell as bad as here. the place we live now smells horrible. it's really gross. I hope the smell will get off of our stuff after we move away.
so anyhoo since the place'll be smaller than here we gotta get rid of a lot of stuff.
on a related note, I need $400.

haha anyway... yes, I was saving my first exciting journal entry here to be something SUPER interesting and of course that has never and will never happen oh god I just remembered there's some really old milk in the fridge I need to dump out brb
BACK HAHA OH GOD that was gross, it barely even moved when I picked up the container, hahahhah
okay ANYWAY
but, I finally have something remotely relevant to post! which is:
I got REALLY, REALLY SICK two days ago!
no barfing or anything... if a need to spew had been the issue, I would have felt better much more quickly but a horrible sore throat, kinda like the one T-Rex said he had on the same day! I stayed in bed for like 12 hours with my mouth hanging open because my nose wouldn't work and my throat was so swollen it was hard to get any air at all also at first I had what =ilovegravy calls HORRIBLE DEATH NAUSEA any time I moved ANYTHING, AT ALL, INCLUDING THE MUSCLES IN MY FACE but that got better a while after I realized that I didn't need to worry about puking because whenever I'm THAT kind of sick, I don't have that much of a sore throat so for the remainder of the time, I stayed in bed making a >:0 face cuz I was so fuckin' pissed that I was too weak to move and my throat was swollen so much I couldn't even swallow, and I started thinking "I HAVE RABIES! LOLZ NOT FAIR I'M TOO SICK TO TELL ANYONE" and ugh, of course that whole time I couldn't sleep a wink despite being super tired thanks to my stupid problem that makes it impossible for me to sleep for the ENTIRE NIGHT if I go to bed too early so I was just REALLY PISSED OFF for that whole time cuz I hated being so goddamn helpless

WHY is this worthy of writing about at DA, you ask?
why, because almost exactly one year ago, I got really sick in the very same way, and my only means of looking up when that happened was with this scrap in my old account, since right after I posted it was when I got sick.
hooray for DA!!!!!!!

so yes, that was awful. and I'm still sick (not with a sore throat though, just hardcore congestion), and I hadn't been anywhere near this sick since that time last year, and PRIOR to that, I don't think I had ever been this sick EVER. EVER!! I hope this doesn't become a trend
I once went through this thingie where I had an ear infection every year on my birthday for like four or five years
I know who I caught this from this time too (like last time) -- it was my dear father, who was sick with it for his entire 5 day visit here and just went off today to infect his friends in New Mexico. MEANIE. I TOLD him to stay here. I have IMPORTANT THINGS FOR HIM TO SEE. bleh whatevar

anyway, I really don't like telling people I'm sick unless there's something good/funny about it cuz I don't want them to feel like they need to give me sympathy or anything, so don't take this seriously! I just thought it was an interesting coincidence
