So while I'm in the process of working on some new pieces, I can't help but look at my previous gallery and just feel embarrassed by the quality of the art in it.

I know it's important to keep a record and track progress and improvement but that doesn't mean everyone else in the world needs to see how much I've improved!

I've got copies of my original works but they don't need to be on here in my opinion.

So for now, you've got a sketch of 'M' letting you know that I am doing a bit of drawing and not just completely neglecting my sketchbook, even though I am a little.

So I've been working on a few things 'behind the scene's' so to speak.

I took a step back from my art, I had a break because I just felt like I wasn't making any progress. I couldn't see any improvement in my work and it was frustrating.

Over the last few days I've come back to it with a whole new approach... relax, and take time.

DeviantART is so inspirational and I spend hours just browsing through people's galleries, some (or a lot) of which are simply stunning.

I'm going to take my time on these pieces I'm working on, maybe I'll post them here when they're done, maybe I'll do a different piece to post, either way I'm hoping the next piece I post on here will be 10, even 100 times better than anything I've put up before.

It's been far far too long since I last posted anything here, quite honestly I just haven't had the time to even think about drawing anything... actually that's not true, I've been constantly thinking about drawing, but tried not to as I knew I had no time to do it.

I finally got out the Wacom, fired up Painter, put on some music and just sketched a few things, I must say it feels awesome to get back into it and I'm so excited about getting to work on a few pieces.

So apologies for being so inactive!

I look back through my gallery and I can really see an improvement in my work.

Although I have a loooooong way to go before I reach a level I want to be at, Im happy with my progress.

There's a few things I want to work hard on, shading clothes, I just find it so difficult! Colouring hair, I want to come up with my own way rather than follow a tutorial, and inking too.... I need to work on refining my inking and outlining.

Im happy though, and Im really enjoying drawing and painting at the moment!

My trial of Painter X just ran out so I ordered it.... Im using Painter Essentials 4 until it arrives and I gotta say, its pretty good!

So Ive finally got my Wacom...and I love it!

I had never used a graphic tablet before and it's even better than I imagined. It was tough going resisting buying one for myself but my girlfriend was set on the idea of getting me one! It was well worth the wait.

I'm still learning but I've uploaded my first attempt in the gallery!

I've set it up for a few reasons, one to show everyone my art, get critique on it, and to keep an online record of my style and how it changes or improves.

I'm currently just sketching/scanning so there might be a lot of pencil drawings/lineart for a little while. Im desperate to go out and buy an Intuos3 but my girlfriend is insisting she gets me one for my birthday in a month or so.

So for the time being, keep checking my work and letting me know what you think!
