Recently there's been some ridiculous drama going on on a fan board I joined a year ago concerning a certain some one who for whatever reason can't learn to except it whenever some one criticizes them for whatever reason.When somebody criticizes their behavior,they whine.When some one offers them constructive critique on their art,they BAWWWWWWW and go on and on about how that person is "being mean".Even worse,this person who shall not be named has the nerve to consider whoever doesn't bend over and kiss his ass 24/7 not his friend and has made several threads saying so...it's gotten to the point that just about everyone there can stand him and several noted members of our little forum have left and joined a new,drama-free board that was created by a former admine and a around great guy.

Well yesterday one of this drama-llama's "pet hates" submitted a funny little story as a joke that featured a character that was meant as a parody of his OC and poked harmless internet fun at his whining.You know how he reacted....he went on a full fledged BAWWWWWWWWfest and submitted his own "revenge fic" in which he basically type casted everyone's characters he used(including mine)as "meanie trolls" out to kill him and other bullshit(read this epic fail here-> [link])He also created a "Say something nice about this person who shall not be named" where we're all suppose to give him pats on the back and kiss his ass to repair his e-ego



Sorry if this is spilling personal business onto dA,but people like this honestly rub me the wrong way.Especially when they bitch over stuff as pointless as getting a critique on their art or some one disagreeing with them over 'important matters'.It's pointless whining like this that lands people on sites like encyclopediadramatica(example ChasetheHedgehog->[link])and encourages people to troll 'em for lulz.The moral of this story is:QUITE TAKING THE INTERNET SO FREAKIN' SERIOUSLY!!!!!Not everyone likes the same things as you,people are gonna criticize you/critique your art/point you out when you screw up....QUIT BITCHING ABOUT IT AND MOVE ON!!!!!And if the person who shall not be named happens to read this,know that I'm still your friend,I have never stated that I hated you anywhere on the internets...annoyed yes but not hate,STOP REACTING TO EVER SINGLE LITTLE THING AND CALM THE FREAK DOWN!!!!!!and please,please learn to accept critiques,they're honestly the only way you'll improve as an artist.

Alright, what I'm about to say are FACTS about that weird word people call "Furry". What does it mean? Are you a furry? Is your friend a furry? Please read this and come to that decision yourself. And I swear to you that these are all facts (as hard as that is), and not 'what I believe'. So please don't just tell me this is my opinion.

Let's start at the beginning. Most of you probably know the word 'anthro', and that it means something along the lines of an animal that walks on two legs. But it's more than that.
The term "anthro" is short for "anthropomorphic" which means ANYTHING non-human that has human features. So yes, ANYTHING can be an anthro! If anyone has seen Disney's Pocahontas, the Mother Willow tree was an Anthropomorhpic tree! You can anthropomorphisize anything that's not already a human The Little Toaster is an anthro toaster, etc.

Now, it's pretty easy to see that animals have been anthropomorphisized a lot. Disney movies like Robin Hood all the way to my own gallery, where animals are seen smiling or talking or doing anything remotely human (and yep, Disney's "Bolt" and the "Warriors" books can technically be considered anthro).

So NO, furry does not describe a TYPE of anthro. A lot of people say that anthros akin to werewolves are called 'anthro' and the anthros that wear clothes and act more human-like are called 'furries'. This is completely untrue. There is no category of anthro animals! All anthro animals are anthro animals no matter how many human attributes they have! 'furry' is not a type of art or a type of character.

"Furry" is a word that describes members of the furry fandom. The Furry Fandom was 'started' a long time ago when people really liked the idea of anthro animals like Bugs Bunny or werewolves more than the average person. This is the start of the furry fandom. If someone is a 'member' of the furry fandom, they are, for the most part, called a 'furry' just as a member of the anime fandom is just an 'anime fan'.

Many people say a furry is someone who dresses up in animal costumes and goes to conventions. No.
Many people say a furry is someone who thinks they are an animal trapped inside of a human body. No.
Many people say a furry is someone who likes to "yiff" (a word synonymous with "sex") or draws anthros having sex. No.
Many people say a furry is someone who likes to have sex with animals. ABSOLUTELY NO.

Yes, there are some people that call themselves furry and do these things. But that definately does not MAKE UP what furry is! I know MANY furries who have never been in a costume (myself included) and I know MAAANY furries who know they are a simple human (myself included). And contrary to popular belief I know MANY furries who are not into sexual acts involving any type of animals (anthro or no) (myself included) and who are just average, regular people.

A furry is a member of a simple fandom! And how does someone become a furry?

YOU ARE A FURRY IF YOU WANT TO BE.

It's that simple. If you don't like the stereotype that comes with the word 'furry' or you just don't feel comfortable with it, then you don't have to be one! It's not like furries are forcing all the animals lovers into their fandom. You can call yourself a furry if you want to, or you can say you're not if you want to. You don't have to go to conventions to be a furry, or like anthros a certain degree. Must I go on? Furries can be people from every walks of life, people who just think anthro animals are a cool idea to people who wish they could be an animal.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that the term 'furry' comes with a lot of negative stereotypes, and if that's all that's stopping you from identifying yourself with the fandom then you should try and realize it's all words. You are who you are, and you know what you do or don't do.


The furry fandom is a great place if you want it to be. When it comes down to it, all it is is a group of people who think anthropomorphic animals are cool. They have conventions so they can share their interest, meet other people with the same interest, and best of all buy art that visualizes their interest (because furry fandom wouldnt exist without art, since anthros don't exist in real life ). This is all that furry is.

This coming Tuesday my Dad has to have surgrey to replace his knees cause they've worn out and the doctor says if they don't do the surgrey he'll end up in a wheelchair.They had planned on doing it on the 5th of this month but blood test found that his blood was too thin so they rescheduled it for Tuesday.

This is notice that after the surgrey I'll most likely be helping take care of him as he recovers and with our relatives coming for Easter...I'll probably won't be online as much,so you may not be hearing from me as much.I'll still submit pics and the like when I get the time so I won't be completely out of the picture.

Well,today's the big day we swear in our new president and vice-president...to be honest even though this is a history-making event I'm not all that emotional aboutI haven't really cared much for politics before mostly because it tends to get so bitter and nasty(especially when you bring up the lib/conservative argument).

That aside,that fact that a black man and his family will be in the White House speaks volumes about how far we've come as countryeven though some of Obama's cabinet choices aren't to my taste,I still have faith that he and Biden will be able to at least get our great nation back on the right track.

And before any of you Bush and McCain/Palin supporters try and drag me into the street,understand that I'm NOT BLAMING EVERYTHING on Pres. Bush,to his credit we weren't attacked again after 9/11(though it would of helped if he'd caught Bin Laden).

Just dropping in with a few journal-worthy happenings


First and foremost,I finally got to see Bolt today,and in 3-D!!!It was excellent overall though I disliked how the producers of Bolt's TV show treated him(keeping him in that trailer and not lettting Penny take him home)Rhino the hamster stole the spotlight a bitit wouldn't surprise me if he got his own animated-short or something...his antics really cracked me up XD I can't wait for it to come out on dvd.


On the flip side,there's this noobgoing around trolling those whom he considers "furry artists" and ranting and raving about how furry art shouldn't be on dA and other BS.He went after my friendfor a couple of REn&Stimpy fanpics she did and has been raising hell on's Sonic-style drawing of a friend's mouse char([link] )[it's a mouse reading a book for crying out loud]the kicker is whenever somebody wisely points out the lack of art in his gallery,he pulls out this gem([link] )showing us that he hates anime artists as well.What a douch

Some of you(especially those I know from Sparky's 101Dal Fan board)may already be familiar with the user/well...he is harassingby stealing her art and leaving threatening,insulting, and spam messages on her profile and deviation pages. 101dalfan just recently joined dA(she's also from Sparky's)and he almost immediately started stealing her art and than accusing HER of art theft

Of course this is only the latest in a series of d*ckheaded stunts he's pulled...most of them only to get attention and to get under people's skins.They include posting racist and homophobic spam on Sparky's web forum,threatening others and than passing it off as "anger issues"hacking into another board member's account,and more...

Now he's after 101dalfan...for no reason other than the fact he's a twisted son-of-awho has no common sense and no respect for others or understands how to follow rules or recognize the fact the we want absolutely NONTHING TO DO WITH HIM!!!!!!!!!!I for one am sick and tired of his foolishness and little games,he's already been banned from Sparky's,Youtube,and Furaffinity for doing shit like this yet he keeps on like HE'S the one who's in the right(he claims he has a "right" to be an idiot)some of us have already reported him to the dA admines and they've removed the stolen pics from his gallery....but for him to really be thought a long over due lesson they should BAN his ass from this site and make it permanent IP ban.....maybe then he MAY understand a little that acting like a bigoted,dim-witted,disrepectful piece of and spewing hateful and racist nonsense and excusing it as an "anger issue" don't cut it.

Great News Guys.....I"M HOME!!!!!!

We made it back yesterday,our house was alright and all our animals got through the storm ok.There's alot of tree damage here and some power lines down as well.The power crews have been working rain or shine and we just now got our lights turned back on.

Unfortunely many people in areas that took a direct hit from Gustav may not get their power back for a few weeks.In Baton Rouge and places around there they're talking about maybe a month before electricity is restored,I really feel for those people and I wish there was something we could do for them.

So,thanks to everyone here,on dA and FA for their warm thoughts and concern about me and my family.

As many of you might know,tropical storm Gustav has been rampaging through the Caribbean,leaving destruction and unfortunly death in its wake.Now many forecasters are expecting it to come into the Gulf of Mexico and hit somewhere along the Gulf Coast between Texas and the panhandle of Florida,with my home state of Louisiana right in the middle

Sadly,this means me and my family may be forced to evacuate to a shelter or get a hotel room in a place up north.The place where we live now is pretty low and floods easily in heavy rain(we had a huge rain storm just last night)and if Gustav does come our way we won't be able to stay.This of course means I won't be drawing and/or submitting anything for however long we may have to.I also won't be talking on MSN,YIM,or AIM evrn though I am bringing my laptop with me I'll probably use it only to keep tabs on the storm.



Anyway,I just wanted to imform everyone of what was going in case I have to become in active,don't any of you to worry about me,I'll find a way to get through this

This guy has gone thorough great lengths to contact my friend such as making new accounts and pretending to be other people who he's not. Now that I started investigating it further I have found that this is DEFINITELY the same man, seeing as his first site has some of the same poems that are placed on the second site, and the second site has NUMEROUS poems that are placed on the site he is using now, !kyakuchuu. Some under a different name, but nonetheless, the same poems. That in itself should be grounds enough for being banned from the website. That's more than harassment, that's online stalking.

I've sort of gotten used to the new dA layout now,though some of it still gets under my skin a little.I guess it's human instinct to be afriad of change even when it's for better.

Speaking of getting under one's skin...

Over on Sparky's 101Dalmatians fan board we've had alot of trouble with two pains in the ass dummys who've been going around pushing peoples' buttons and making up crap about them(if you're a memeber of that board you'll know who I'm talking about).They've both been banned now and as far as one is concerned,the matter is fortunely closed.The other jackass though contiunes to post on the board as a guest insulting people and making bigoted and hurtful statements.I swear if I had him in front of me right now I'd beat the word "Jerk" into his skin cause that's what he is

In other more cheerful news,I have to catch up on a few gifts for people,so till then my requests and art trades are closed.I'll let everyone know when they're open again.

I read on CNN's webpage that woman down in Florida died after a spotted eagle ray leaped out of the water and knocked her over,causing her to fall and hit her head on the deck.This is so out the ordinary that even the experts are shocked(Full story here[[link] ]).

I still remember the shock and saddness I flet when Steve Irwin died from a ray's brab piercing his heart, and now this.It just goes to show how unpredictable animals can be.

Last night a tornado went through downtown Atlanta just the SEC game was taking place at the Georgia Dome,taking off part of the roof and shattering the windows of many high-rise buildings including the CNN building.As I type this today,they said on the news that the police were telling poeple to get off the streets and into buildings on account of more tornado sittings and heavy hail.

If anyone happens to live in the Atlanta area,Please...PLEASE be carefore and stay safe.These storms have already reportbly killed two poeple outside the city.The tornadoes have been really bad this year(and it's only March)and I wouldn't want any of my friends to get hurt or worse...

I've been considering wither or not I should do comissions for extra money.Before making a decision I'd hope to get Photoshop or some other imagining software but I've been having trouble upgrading my virus protection which I wanted to get done first.

Anyway,while that's waiting to be resolved,I just wanted know what ya'll think and wither or you'd be intrested in comissioning me.If I get enough yes reponses and my other stuff up and working,I'll do another journal detailing rules and prices.

I finally have my computerIt's a Dell pc laptop with Windows Vista.I had some trouble getting an internet connection,but that's now taking care.No more missing out on all the happenings on DA and the other networking sites.I'm here to stay!!!!!!!
