I'm hoping to save up a little and sell my Samsung pro815 to get a real DSLR, probably a Nikon D Series. My buddy [a graphics design major] has one and it is quite sexy. Don't get me wrong, I love you samsung but things just haven't been working out between us lately and quite frankly... I'm ready to move on. It's nothing personal, and actually, I'd go so far as to say that It's not you, it's me. You'll find someone who truly appreciates you one day.

Can we still be friends?

So, I've been back in Chicago from my trip to Mexico for almost a week now. And I've been sick for just as long. Lucky me, I picked up a bug while I was there, so I've been really slow about getting pics up. I DID however manage to max out my memory card while I was there, a lot of which I really do like. I'll put up a few every few days till I run out or get bored.

I've been wanting to get to the forest preserve just south of Chicago for a few days, and after work today I actually made it out there. It was cool, hiking through nature, swatting spider webs from my face and getting bitten to death by mosquitoes -sorta- but it was worth it. Got a few shots I really liked, adjusted them a bit, and here they are. The 4 most recent shots are the Nature mini series.

Recently Joined

I've been giving the new camera a thorough workout the since I got it last week and reading about new techniques and styles. My shots have been varying from multiple exposure HDRI's to extended exposure night shots, black and white urban shots, and now portraits- and maybe even fashion photography. My new hair stylist needs a few photographers for an industry function she's putting together, and while I may not actually shoot any models there, it might just open the door for future endeavors.

Anyway, while driving past my old neighborhood to grab dinner from my favorite little dive over on western I saw my old park simultaneously lit up by the moon's ghostly aura and the bright suedo-stadium lights. The four pieces I just posted came from tonight.

:inspired: is my personal fav. Now, time for sleep.

I got my new Samsung Pro815 today. I was in the market for an SLR, but came across this little number in the pro-sumer category. Not a bad choice as my first step out of the point-and-shoot realm. I'm really pleased so far with all the manual features. Lets see how things develop
