Just ranting and making a member announcement.

Ever since the announcement of the Screenshot '06 contest, things have seemed to settle down. There has been no/not as much fighting, slander or animosity to anyone. Which is a good thing. I am happy to see that customize.org is finally settling down and the users are doing what we all love that they do. Skin programs that we use on a daily basis to make things much sexier for the eyes. Please keep up all the awesome skinning people.

Also, I am pleased to announce that cust0 has a new member.

So things are starting to look up for cust0. Hopefully we can get alot more members and submissions to cust0.

2nd place:

Sexy sexy sexy! I love it. Makes a change from the plain uber minimal wallpapers, and is beautifully contrasted by a plain silver VS. The widesceen resolution makes it more beautiful.

3rd place:

this is a beauty. I really enjoy to watch this one

with another wallpaper this one would fight for the 2nd place for sure

Its totally different to the others, so this gets my creativity vote. (for me, this should be disqualified

The colors are nice, the screen could be polished a bit more but its still quite good. Sea matches blue font, rock matches silver gradients and the shadows match the black titlebars. It fits.

neodude made a great & calm shot. Perhaps too generic, but a lovely one.

The blue is lush, so vibrant and alive!. Well contrasted by the monochrome picture. Has alot of potential, unfortunately the heavily pixelated numbers damage it a bit. The taskbar is somewhat cluttered, but somehow he gets away with it. He should have improved the winamp tho.

9th place:
Edges are round by dozza _[link]
This could be highed rank if mynimal was the one who submit this because mynimal made the skin, and ported perfectly the headvoid's style.

Personally, all of the submitters did a crazy job and all came out nice. This just goes to show you what people can really do, and then some. Great job to everyone that partaked in this little contest. We all look forward to the next wave of screenshots to hit the submission button.

How to join?

The word cust0 says it all! That is to say, cust0 is customizing community. Cust0 has the aim to give people more interest in appl. skinging / interfaces / shell themes / iconists / general skinning that is. Therefore we also want jo have good and quality members in our community. Avowed people shouldnt have any gains. Further should not pageviews or nothing else have an impact.
If you want to join, make sure you have what we're looking for. At least something that can reming of it. Note that, sometimes we can make exception. That is, if you havnt got anything that we're looking for and still you're a good graphic designer, you have good odds of getting in! Note us!

News: so guys there was no meeting at all. It seems that all members couldnt come. I think its partly because the time was not set.
As I replied to ether when she asked how the meeting did go?
I said that it was OK that she was gone. And that there was no meeting, I also told her that there was a huge misapprehension. I personally and everyone else missunderstood each other! The time was not set so that might have been the dead end. At its best there was 3 members chatting. Now on, we should come up with a new meetin time, and define the meeting time. So that the time would suit every one as i previously said.

Guys also a importand phase in this community is to bring life into it. That means that the visual effect it gives to the bystander should give here/him a effect aswell. So therfore i think we should also make a new Deviant ID, and start posting stuff in cust0. I mean that if eg. I do a deviation i post it here(and of cource at my own site aswell) by (noting first to cust0) and cust0s share is to Link the deviation to the deviant. Give your thoughts on this one!

Other communitys has that as a standard "thing"

So guys if we want to start acting like a community, lets face it, we dont have all the time in the world, so i prefear that we get down to serious business.
I talked with some other members of the custo crew and we came with one decent conclusion.

Yeah we "decided" that it might be great if we could do something together, all members that is. Why not do a graphic design or why not even do a style theme? Anything goes. It would be like sort of an collaboration. I you want to say something... react! You have all the right to suggest anything, it would help us all with the process. Im also very open minded, and everything might work out well.
But then again, i think it's best if we all were grouped together someday. Ive opened a chatroom, so i thought it would be nice if we all would be connected at the same time and day in the Chatroom so that we could discuss this matter further. We should mainly discuss if this matter is even good? FYI: what's the core, and so on. Then again i need you to leave a comment on this journal, notify me and tell when it suits you, what is the best time for you?
So that we could define the meeting opened. My suggestion is Friday. What do you think?
