Been thinking this week about one of my favourite obsessions, immortality.

Not that I particularly want immortality, you understand, I am just invested in the idea of it, no one can live forever and yet the concept of immortality pervades our fiction.

I was talking to my good friend James Moore a few days ago, and he posited the idea of "Digital Inheritance" as a way of continuing such exploits as webcomic's or vblogs after the death of the original creator. In this way such internet projects could continue long after the original artists have stopped submitting.

This is an interesting posit, but it's full impact has not yet been discussed. As long as this digital inheritance continues the content submitted by the original artist will still be there, unchanging, in exactly the same state as the day it was submitted and it will remain there until the site is taken down.

This is the closest thing to immortality that one can realistically think of.

Thank you for reading.

List 12 of your original characters:

01. Pax
02. Captain Random
03. Captain England
04. Nightbird
05. Vigilance
06. Simon and Dog
07. Paxair Telrun'ian, the head hunter
08. Albion & Lucien
09. Rex
10. Gek
11. Faceless Agent
12. Sgnt Wood

01)Who would make a better college professor, 6 or 11?
Well, 6 is a giant dog and a twelve year old boy... but on the other hand 11 is a psychotic faceless killer FROM THE FUTURE so i guess probably 6.

02) Do you think 2 is hot? How hot?
He's kinda scrawny.

03) 12 sends 8 on a mission.
Unlikely in the extreme.

04) What is or would be 9's favorite book?
Activating Evolution, or something on advanced genetics or werewolf genetics. He's very smart for a canine.

05) Would it make more sense for 2 to swear fealty to 6, or the other way around?
More likely to be the other way round, although both are unlikely.

06) For some reason, 5 is looking for a roommate. Should s/he share a studio apartment with 9 or with 10?
Probably Rex, they're both broody.

07) 2, 7 and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
Random, Paxair and Wood meet up, random wants pizza, paxair wants human souls, wood probably wants imperial rations or orc flesh.

a fight ensues, no one survives. a cat eats them.

08) 3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?
well random controls probability so the outcome depends on how connected random is at the time of the fight. on random's terms random would win, on gek's terms possibly niether, or both.

09) If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would s/he get it back?
They would beg for it back, he is thier master.

10) Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.
Harry potter and the hail of bullets.

11) What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 11 to work together?
Faceless agent is shot back in time by the powers of chaos, disgusted by the present democratic regime faceless joins vigilances army in an attempt to set up the police controlled superstate he knows and loves.

12) If 7 visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
I would die, horribly.

13) If you could command 3 to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?
Give me the rights to his merchandising and sponsorship deals.

14) Does anyone on your friends list write or draw 11?
nope

15) If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, which would it be?
Nightwing and vigilance have teamed up on several occasions, they regard each other as allies, captain random would probably keep an eye on what they're up to, but not intervene

16) What might 10 shout while charging into battle?
Klik'gh

17) If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?
Blood Brothers, Iron Maiden

18) 1, 6, and 12 are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?
Wood pulls out his bolt pistol and puts a cap in pax's stomach, dog the jumps him, this leaves simon facing an uninjured (he's immortal) pax who forgets about the pancake and eats him instead. So dog gets the pancake.

19) What might be a good pick-up line for 2 to use on 10?
Hey i see you're a hideous mutant, want some cock?

20) What would 5 most likely be arrested for?
Being a vigilante

21) What is 6's secret?
Simon's secret is that he has a giant dog which speaks to him, dog's secret is that he is a giant taling dog.

22) If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?
Facless agent can telport.

23) If you had to walk home through a bad neighbourhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8?
Albion and Lucieen, they are good at following instructions.

24) 1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's sinister secret organization. 11 volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that he/she is actually a spy for 4. Meanwhile, 4 has kidnapped 12 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5, they seek out 3 , who gives them what they need to complete their quest.
What title would you give this fic?
Vigilance and Merchandise.

A Dalek.

Possibly somewhere in britian there is someone, possibly living on exmoor in a cave, possibly stuck in a nukear bunker waiting for the fallout to recede, more possibly standing outside sainsburys clutching an ASBO as the last sign of manhood who does not know what a Dalek looks like, what it sounds like and who it's greatest enemy is.

For those of you who don't know here's the 5-1-1

A Dalek is pure evil. It is, it may look liek a binwith a plunger and an eggwhisk haphazardly screwed on but inside it's just pure evil. The Dalek race was based on the Nazis and the thought of a fascist walking tank impervious to everything and incapable of morality or pity should scare the hell out of us.

I love 'em, you love 'em, we all love 'em. Ridiculous or not the Daleks have EXTERMINATED thier way into our hearts and minds, they're as british as red london buses or big ben. they're great, and they're back.

Hooray for Daleks!

Well.

I guess this is it, zero hour.

Ever since 9/11 we've known it's coming. For the last 2 years we've been warned and warned again about the threat of a terrorist attack on great britain.

The first year went and everyone was on high alert, scared to go out into the metropolises, scared to open envelopes through the post.

The second year there was less of an interest, nothing happened in the first year mayebe it wasn't going to happen, there was an attitude of disbelief that anything would happen at all.

We got complacent.

I have friends who live in london, luckily none of them were hurt (thank god for small blessings) but most of them are shocked and frightened, and so am I, so are all of us.

So spare a thought for those people killed in london today. Only 49 people, it may not seem like a big deal compared to the thousands killed in the 9/11 attacks but that's still 49 daughters, sons, wives, husbands, lovers and parents wiped out just because they were there, victims of a war they have nothing to do with.
