As much as I have wanted to practice it, shoot in every occasion, in every moment, sadly that wasn't the case. And now i embark on a new path (Graduate studies) that would further devoid me of spare time, I just wish that somewhere, somehow i could still nurture this fire in me to pursue photography, to develop my passion further.. til then I guess I'll be putting down my camera for the moment...

Member

June submission at
[link]

Journal Skin by =Thewinator
Shell stocks by ~huomennastock, ~chop-stock and ~hatestock

Last week after my official business at the One E-com center, I decided to walk around at the bay walk strip, since the building was adjacent to MOA it was already four in the afternoon, the ambient light is still a tad harsh but it was fine by me, I had my trusty old school camera with a 200mm prime lens on’ my first time to use the lens, and after that afternoon I am starting to love it. The place was a great hodge-podge of people, emotions and antics, and I am very excited to get my shots developed already. The coast guard was even doing their maneuvers near the breakwater it was like an “arriving honor” sort of thing. The thing that really interest me were the emotions of people, it was so diverse that as if you can drown from the plethora of it, it was fun and heart warming even, since there was this particular group of kids playing, I reckon they are from “boys town”, I didn’t pass up the opportunity to capture the moments, such an admirable plight for the people who are taking care of them. I can still vividly remember the moments that I had captured, it kept on playing on my mind over and over again, like a child who’s very eager, enthusiastic about opening his Christmas present and be bewildered on the surprise that awaits him.

(The following lines are excerpt from a correspondence to a friend)

“I find it more fulfilling during alone times, when I am in solace, coz there’s no inhibitions, your just bare out there, nothing to think about, just you and your environment as your canvas. Walks that can stretch to a kilometer, worrying nothing if your pals are lagging behind or tired already, it creates an atmosphere without barriers… I am most happy when I capture moments, emotions of other people. I appreciate life even more, the smiles, frown, gestures that put color unto their lives… I always look forward to serendipity.”

*One of my work has been featured by here's the link [link]

thank's for the feature

Member of

Last weekend I was with and , had some few drinks and watched some movies, the first movie was a quirky one, entitled 200 pounds of beauty, it was funny and yes it is one of those movies that is typical with a girls’ slumber party, and it was Korean. I had good laughs watching the movie, that it made me watch the movie again when I got home… hahaha! The second movie was a tad morbid, satirical, unexpected, confusing, and have some sexual innuendos, it’s an Asian movie dubbed in English, couldn’t remember the title thou, knows the title, the movie revolved in the context of revenge through vengeance after death “sadako” style, all the characters where in portrayal of professions in the medical industry specifically nurses and doctors, actually just the two of those. It’s the type of movie you’ll watch just to deviate from the mainstream, from Hollywood or from what not movies out there.
Anyway, while at place, we decided to take some portrait shots in low light, without a tripod, and without a speedlight, and as I’ve expected most of the shots if not all where a disaster, at least for my point of view, it was a learning experience. Although the misfortune happened, I still sport a enthusiastic spirit, everyday is a chance to capture moments, every mistake is a learning experience and most important of all, its plain fun exploring this new found hobby.

It was supposed to be a sunny day, but a slight change in the weather made the sky gloomy and drench us for a little while, alas all plans have gone to waste , but fortunately after 30 minutes the sky open up and shed some light.

The Location was at Fort Santiago located at the heart of Intramuros Manila, one of the oldest fortifications, it has been built, repaired and destroyed a couple of times. In 1950 it was declared as Shrine of Freedom. This was my first attempt to photography, or anything related to it, all I have is my drive to try this newfound interest and my trusty film camera (Nikon FM 10) (old school).

After finishing my first roll of film, went on to get it developed, I had the option of having the negative scanned or printed, I opted to have it printed in linen at first I thought to have it on matte, but alas, I said to myself why not try linen and so I did. The prints where amazing, what I meant was the prints not the shots altogether, (hahaha) there’s richness in the linen. Though there’s one big drawback when I scanned the prints you can visibly see the texture of the print in the digital image, and so a lesson learned in this experience.

LINKS:
