So what is the Scholars Project?

The dA Scholars Project(dASP) is a petition for a small (or large) Scholarship to be awarded from dA to a worthy applicant who plans on pursuing a degree in the Arts. This includes majors such as Creative writing, Art, Culinary Arts, Graphic Design, etc.

It wouldn't be a random deviant picking, or a "who's the best artist/ who draws the best yaoi" type of thing, but rather a scholarship for someone who really wants and needs it. There aren't a lot of Art Major scholarships out there, and I'd really like to see this take off, and hopefully get backed by the dA administration, but in order for that to happen, I need the backing of the dA members.

There's a lot you can do to help get this thing up and going.

  • Write a Journal

  • Plan to Donate



How do I show my support?

:pointr:It's really simple, just watch this club and spread the word. One journal is all it takes! Try to get as many of your friends to support this as possible. We need all the help we can get. If you plan on donating, you can send a pledge in, that is, a note saying how much you'd donate if this ever gets off the ground. But notice: We are not asking for, or accepting any monetary donations at this time Unless you plan on buying a subscription for this account, no donations for the scholarship are being taken.

:pointr:We are currently also looking for staff, that is, permanent PR people. If you are interested in spearheading a couple of projects meant to get the word out there, send a note to this account.

Look who's back! It's been quiet over here in dASP land, and no small part of that is due to the busy busy head minion. I'm in college as you all know, and I can't get in here as often as I like. I'm so glad that this place hasn't died off while I was gone! Thank you all for your continuing support, and make sure to tell your friends about this. There are lots of new and fun things planned in the up and coming months.

As for the project itself, we now have 143 confirmed supporters! Or goal is 1,000 confirmed supporters of this project. We are well on the way!

Please be patient with me while I build an administrative base for us, as well as get the word out. Remember, we can always use more support, so bring your friends!

The dA Scholars Project(dASP) is hosting a new feature for young artists who are going to or are planning to enter college for an art degree. Once a month we will showcase a talented young artist, complete with thumbs and an interview.

If you know an artist or would like to be featured, simply fill out the application below and send it in a note to *dA-ScholarsProject. We will only feature one artist a month, and the deadline to apply is the last Saturday of every month, at 11:59 EST. The winner will be posted in one week.

This month's deadline is: November 28th

If you don't make it, feel free to re-apply until you do! Though, once you win, you cannot re-apply. We want to give everyone an equal chance of winning.

Eligibility


  • The artist may be in their last two years of highschool or a college undergraduate.*

  • The artist must plan on or go to an accredited school.

  • The artist must pursue (or plan to pursue) an art degree.**

  • The artist cannot have a previous Academic Artist's Feature.


*This means that a 40 year old college sophomore is just as eligible as a 17 year old highschool senior.
**An art degree also includes Graphic, Design, Culinary Arts, Photography, Creative Writing, etc.

*Note: if you nominate someone, we will ask them to fill out an application before we feature them.

To Nominate Yourself:

  • Devname or Nickname

  • What (art) do you wish to major in?

  • What do you want to do for a career?

  • How long have you been doing your art?

  • 4-8 thumbs of your work with a short explanation(1-2) sentences

The dASP hiatus is finally over! I will personally try to log in more in order to keep this page active, and bring in more support. But I need you guy's support as well. I'm in college and I do not have all of the time in the world to keep this project going single-handedly.
