Now, I would STILL like to do some sort of contest for an ID, and I'm going to figure out how to go about it, when, what the prize should be, etc., as soon as I can.

Please please please, let me know any ideas for the contest. Right now all I can come up with is that the ID must include the name "daQuilters" or "daQ", and must be relevant to the club-- i.e., include quilting, a quilt, sewing machines, needles, thread, etc. Once I get some more ideas in, I will make up a list of official criteria, and post a new journal.

I'm also thinking that we could do a couple group projects. Perhaps make a group quilt with a block from each member, or each of us make a quilt for Project Linus (www.projectlinus.org), or something. Any ideas in that area?

We're launching a contest today!!!!

As you've probably noticed, our avatar is still the plain, boring, default da logo avatar. Well, today, we're launching a contest to find our avater!!!

Here are the rules-

1. Usual ~dAQuilters ettiquette applies. NO racism, profanity, rudeness, etc. Simple!
2. The icon's theme MUST be relevent to the theme of our club-- something quilty!!!
3. Multiple submissions are fine, if you're a big fan of making avatars.
4. The avatar must be 50x50 pixels
5 the words "dAQuilters", "dAQ", or "Quilt Club" must be included somewhere in the avatar.

How to Submit!

Upload your avatar to your gallery, and send us a link. We will post the links in this entry along with your icon, and members can come here to check the entries to this contest. Submissions will be accepted until February first, and then after that, we'll have voting begin!

How to Vote!

After feb. 1, when all the submissions are in, send us a note with your choice for our avatar! Voting will close one week later, on february 8!!!

A lot of you have been sending messages asking how to join, and it's really simple- just send us a note saying you want to join then "watch" the club!

As for submissions, when you send your note, we will upload the deviation on to the club's page, but will always include a link to the original deviation and request that you post any comments or favourites on the original, not here. It's just too difficult for the quilter to check for comments on the club's page!

Once again thanks SO much for all your awesome support. We are just so happy that we're getting off to a strong start, and we hope that things continue like this! Feel free to note us with ANY questions you have about how to submit, how to join, or anything at all about our club!
