i just did the blow mold of the torso yesterday and it came out fine in clear. today i will be doing it in black .. WOO!

as for color photo, i have my final crit today and i could not be more excited. ill upload all my color photos here when i go home for christmas break. no more photooo ever again!!

it's extremely depressing to me to come to this realization. i loved photo and now i hate it. i dont understand what happened. i think i need to try printing in b+w again and maybe i will refind my love of photo.

anyway i have to scan my pics from color photo and put them up here, some of my pictures i really enjoy and other's i do not. i havent finished making my second glass assignment, but i will tell you that i am making squids! i am really excited.

this semester i am taking color darkroom photo (!!!!!!!!!!) and glass blowing (!!!!!!!!x5)

i am also going to try and sneak into the black and white darkroom because i have some prints i still want to print.

so expect awesome color prints and glass blowing stuff in the monthes to come. in the mean time, i'll continue taking digital pictures and uploading the ones that i like the most. blah blah blah

i may upload with shitty quality digital pictures of have taken, but thats only if i get a shot that is good enough, which hardly happens. i really hate digital photography, it has killed the world of film and darkroom photography. sorry /rant.

i had a new assignment last week thats pretty sweet, it was kind of like a hockney inspired piece, sort of. like first we had to take a roll of film so that when we put it in the contact sheet and print it, its like one giant picture.
then we take those negatives, cut them up, and tape them together so we get a negative collage that is similar to hockney stylin.

this week we are doing portraits!!! finally this is so exciting i cant wait!

and i cant wait to upload all that shizat tooooooo. i need to find someone with a scanner or motivate myself to go to the library. bleh.

at the same time my glass octopus finally came out of the kiln and i can upload a picture up hurrr. the only problem when i made it was that i didnt put enough glass into the mold so now i have a glass octopus with the top of his head missing!! i think i am going to cold work it and polish it all nice though so you can see through it.

i also started using fiber based paper intead of the resin coated. i dont really know what i think about it, except that i hate that the paper dries all fuckin weird.

i cant wait to start glass. its going to be SO COOL!

and photo, well i have not been in the dark room legitly since like, 11th grade. 2 years! its going to be great to be back in there after so long of not being in there.

the one thing i am not looking foward to about photo is that i am probably going to ave to use black and white film. well you are probably thinking, well DUHH, you use b+w film for b+w dark room. well, i developed a technique i guess, more of a fancy towards using colored film with high filters in the dark room. i love doing this because number one, i dont have to develop the film, and number two, it gives more of a greyscale i feel like. you get your black blacks, and your white whites and everything in the middle.

sorry i dont know why i went off on a rant.
must be that coffe i drank this morning, i hardly ever drink coffee so i am off the walls!

by the way, pottery was a no go. fucking class is full. but i may be taking a glass pendent making class instead. whatever, i'd rather work with glass anyway.
