The detail of ~aryundomiel's I'veStillGotMeTokeepYouWarm cannot be ignored. Look closely. What particular detail do you notice from the books? Bella's bracelet! Look at those little charms - she has her hand carved wolf from Jacob and her hand-me-down diamond heart from Edward. And while the characters do not represent the actors chosen for the films, they are both very close to what we had pictured when we read the novels. This scene is from Breaking Dawn, and is immensely well done.


Options by ~nikitajuice is a brilliantly done digital painting depicting a scene from Eclipse/. This piece emanates a feeling of consolidation and love - Bella looks timid and desperate. SoOoOo today I had a note from a kind DA member saying that someone was using my artwork in their facebook profile. I followed her link and sure enough, there was an ENTIRE ALBUM that was COPYWRITE INFRINGEMENT! So, I decided to post a journal so as many people as possible can see and report their own pieces of artwork that were stolen.

I know it says, "Fan Art" as the title, however, this person did not get permission from the artists, and did not even bother to put links to the original pieces so the artists could get credit. This is my first experience with art theft... I am surprisingly upset.

I found a song that should be in New Moon (even though it is too late). Go to Alexi Murdoch's MySpace page by clicking here: [link] Listen to the song in his playlist called "12" (skip to like, the 2 minute mark to get past all of the whispering). I think it is SO perfect for when Bella is running through the crowd toward the distraught Edward as he steps closer and closer to the sunlight. I can totally picture absolutely no dialogue and her just running and running and running and finally clinging to him. This would take place at 3:20 in the song. It slows down, and I imagine him believing he is in heaven, and holding the one he loves. *le sigh*

Back when Twilight was only popular with the Novel enthusiasts, I'll admit that I had no idea what it was. My mother was the one who said that they were making a movie based on the book, and that the book was great. She gave me a little plot teaser, (basically just telling me it's about Vampires that don't drink human blood) so I was semi-interested... but not enough to run out and buy the book.

Once the movie was in theaters, my boyfriend and I went to see it. I fell absolutely, and irrevocably in love with it. It was one of those films that gets better and better as the day goes by. I was thinking about it for a week straight, until I finally forced myself to take a trip to Borders, and pick of Stephanie Meyer's first of the Twilight Saga. I started reading it at work on my lunch breaks, but found that I was having problems going back into the office because I was SO into the book, (this is - was - rare for me people... I HATED reading). So instead of leaving the book in my car for the next lunch break, I took it inside with me when I got off work and read until my eyes were forced closed by fatigue. This went on until the novel was finished. I rushed to Borders to buy the next 3 books in the series, and followed the same, unhealthy pattern. I was seriously lacking the ability to function that comes with a good night's sleep for over a month. Why so long you ask?? Because I read the entire series through twice... back to back.

Anywhoo, today is dedicated to the Twilight Saga and therefore, you will find TONS of Twilight art featured below. ENJOY!!!

First of all, I want to thank all of you for taking the time to visit my page, comment, and fav my art. I truly appreciate all of your feedback and support.

Next up, I wanted to let you all know that I am working on several different series' of fanart based off of novels & TV/Movies.

The first (which many of you all know of already) is my Twilight Series. The movie made me fall in love, which made me read the novels, which were so amazing, they had me a little crazy. I was actually having some serious issues with reality and fantasy.

The second is my ER Memories Series, dedicated to the fantastic actors and actresses who spent so much of their time making their audiences fly high and low with emotion.

And my newest addition to the trend... my Harry Potter Series. Man guys, this trailer gives me goosebumps. No lie. This series of films has just gotten better and better over the years, and the Half Blood Prince looks like the best one yet. EPIC

SoOoOo, since ~StarLitVision won't be coming over until super late saturday/super early sunday... I will hopefully be picking up my copy of Twilight tomorrow :w00t: This way I will be able to watch it before my cruise. This is kind of interesting. I went to look at my gallery stats and found that my most faved deviation was Alice colored. I had no Idea that Alice was such a popular character and I had no idea that THIS of ALL deviations in my gallery is considered by viewers as, "the best". Far be it for me to fight this, but this was one iof my least favorite drawings of the Disney girl series... oh well. haha. Can't fight the numbers.

dark-fantasy has 28,357 pageviews total and her 295 deviations were viewed 57,654 times. She watches 886 people, while 217 people watch her.

Well... every time I return to DeviatART my inbox has over 100 messages. Needless to say, when I go away for the weekend and come home I have nearly 500 messages to check... and most of the time... many of them are not very good. So, I am cleaning out my devwatch list. I have gotten through the As and Xs and Zs. Soon I will work my way up to the larger letters. I am just clicking on everyone and viewing their front page... if I don't like the featured or the four in the gallery home page, then out you go. Sorry. :( but checking my DevART has become TOO MUCH WORK!!! Love to all!!!!

I've got to break the month to month journal entries and post a short journal in memory of Heath Ledger. At only 28 years old, he was found dead in his apartment leaving behind a 2 year old daughter. His movies were amazing and absolutly an inspiration to many people out there, including myself. RIP Heath Ledger. You will be missed.

:bulletred: STEP 1 ~ Reference photo selection. One of the most important steps! I usually spend about an hour choosing the best photo. Things to look for: a) High resolution. In the beginning I had tried to simply enlarge the image so it was big enough for step 2... but it never turned out right. The shading and proportions are thrown off balance. b) Hair. I still consider myself a beginner meaning that I choose pretty basic photos to paint. I always try to pick a photo with calm hair that pretty much falls straight down with no wind blowing, etc.

:bulletred: STEP 2 ~ "How do you get your proportions so perfect??" One word: Vector. I start all of my digital painting by doing a vector of the image.Follow a traditional vector tutorial for the program you choose. I have Paint Shop Pro 9, so I learned using [link] . I am extremely precise in my lines so I follow every crease and every different shading tone as best I can. The more detailed you are now, the more detailed the outcome will be. Once the ENTIRE face is vectored, (including hair) I delete the bottom layer (the photo) and open it next to mine for color.

:bulletred: STEP 3 ~ Basic colors. I always start with the skin tone. Using the dropper tool I select a medium shade from the cheek and airbrush at a low/medium opacity (between 15 - 25) all of the skin. You don't want a high opacity because this will drown out the lines for shading. I like to start everything rough and shade and perfect it as a whole, instead of perfecting the skin, then moving on to the hair. SO next do the same with the hair, choosing a mid-tone from the photo and airbrushing it in at the same opacity (sometimes lower if the hair is dark). Follow this with the lips, and any clothing you may have showing as well.

:bulletred: STEP 4 ~ I like to start detailing with the eyes. (this is always my favorite part). Using the same technique as before (the dropper tool) I select the nid tone colors of the iris, pupil, lashes, and the "white" of the eye. Once the basic colors are down, I slowely work shading and slight highlights (which we will enhance later). I like to work on eye at a time, but do whatever feels best to you.

:bulletred: STEP 5 ~ Lips. The basic color was already layed down so now all you need to do is select darker tints (on your own or using the dropper-- whatever you prefer-- I use both techniques) and shade where the lips meet. Just as with the eyes add a little bit of a highlight for gloss and realism.

:bulletred: STEP 6 ~ Hair. Again, the basic color has already been laid down. Using the dropper tool I take exact colors for the exact position of the hair (shading and hilights) and airbrush it in at an opacity of usually about 25-30. This is where it gets tough. First I use a larger brush and once filled in, I use a smaller, harder, and higher opacity brush to give it more detail. I do this both for hilighting and shading.
