I have finished my new work, 'my lover'. and pics will be up... soon...

I think i have figured out what my work is missing... oringality.. they dont have a certain, aura about them, and look half finished etc. So i am going to have a new art book, and fill it with sketches of ideas, that come out of my head, and are brought upon by music of things around me, and not images or photos.
I have one idea now, but not ready to do it yet..

meh, i am bored of writting, and want to upload the pics now.

i handed in my sculpture, 'hard times' (the boy sucking himself off like Locky likes to tell me how it looks >.< That got third place, but i was told that it could have gotten second if they looked at it better and saw all the detail i went through.. IT HAD A WANG.. that is so first prize stuff there xD

My paintings, the tree one and locky one, they got first and second. And my naked lady and shane on bus drawings got nothing
I was so surprised.. and pissed off.

I was going to enter my Straddy Journal but i forgot to bring it and so i tied for reserve champion for the show.... but i did not get it because the person i tied with, got the same amount of points as me, but had more people going against her... I have to say i did pretty good for my second year in it xD.

Well my artwork is going meh, i took some pictures of my artbook but.... meh...

I think i may have left it at school and it was full of all my artwork done at home =[

Hopefully it will turn up but i doubt it due to my lack in luck. I kinda needed it for a folio for the uni for art teaching... but i am failing english so i might want to pass that before i worry too much about old art. The funny thing was that i was getting a's and b's and a couple of c's, but now i am getting mostly d+'s and one c-... wtf i didnt think there was that much of a jump between grade 11 english and grade 12... >.< but i suppose jess who got all a's and a couple of a+'s is trying hard jsut to get a b+...

I cant take photos of any of my work because my dad took my camera with him to Korea.

I am starting the new unit for school called,
'Future Realisations, Personal Perspectives'.
I am happy because i got a B for my book last term.... i dont know if i should be happy because of all the work i put in it.... but meh. Dont know what i got for my art yet thoguh =S

Well I ahve finished the main part of my major for art. It dosent look that bad, but i have lost intrest in it. The worst thing happened to it though. I had it near the sink in the class, and a friends sprayed water at someone outside the class, and got water on my artwrork >.<. That wouldnt have been much of a problem if my artwork wasnt made of INK... So i it has been destroyed =[ Thankfully the damage isnt not that bad. But it is still enough to piss me off. And i cant cover the problem up on the background becuase it is made of oil pastles softened with turps... And i tried, dont get me worng, and i jsut screwed up my work even more.
So i am going to cry about it and leave it for the weekend ( Due on thursday) And let a friend have a go in fixing it. But i am sure my teacher will understand. Even though it dosent look like it, i speant heaps of time on it, and that what makes me even more upset.

Well if that is not enough i got told that jsut that, is not worth the ten weeks we have speant on this, so i have to do something else, but i have no clue what.... So i am going to ahve to do something or else :S

i just finished a gallery review for the 5th Asia- Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art Exhibition, and i need someone to look over it and give some good crit.

I such at writing in a way that everyone can understand. My writing is disjointed and hard to understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated and i will give you Chocolate if you do xD

The abnormal heat that is evident in the day’s peak and the bright sunlight reflects off the windows of bustling Brisbane’s inner city, where The Gallery of Modern Art with its current 5Th Asia- Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art Exhibition, is located. This heat is greatly contrasted by the cool almost chilling air- conditioned interior of the Gallery’s modern core.

When entering the structure, which in itself is almost a modern artwork, you are greeted with what seems to only be described as a modern feel. The entrance hall that has a mural that covers the whole wall that has to be viewed by all three levels of the gallery to be truly appreciated, and on the other side, an almost controversial display of the effects of war on Vietnamese inhabitants, which is on of the central themes displayed in many of the artwork, due to the background of many of the 31 individual artists. A staircase, stonework, black, white and contrast are some of the elements that are used in the edifice.

Two of the many artwork that may appeal to the visitors, contrast the very design of both artworks; ‘And then and then and then and then and then’ by Takashi Murrakam, and, ‘Once upon a time’, found in the series ‘Eoheung’ by ‘Yoo Seung- Ho’.


Marrakam’s style is a typical of pop art. This hybrid cartoon figure, which is partially based on a stylised portrait of the artist himself, takes up all of the canvas, which has no background so therefore nothing to advert the viewer’s eyes from the focus point, ‘DOB’. The canvas contains a cartoon that looks almost cheeky. The Synthetic polymer painting in itself is not the focus point, but rather the story behind, the painting, and the meaning of it. The figure contains of a bluey- black colour, almost Micky Mouse style, with a skin coloured face with striking blue eyes and eyelashes. The face
is directed down to the lower left corner of the
canvas, but the eyes are starring at the viewer.

Critical pop, which the artist helped originate and explores, is the style that approaches how consumerism has exploded in these last decades to become one of the main ways that exploit social equities. The subculture rampage ‘otaku’ culture (anime and manga comics), which emerged in Japan in the early 1980’s, is where the popular figures from this culture is portrayed with high art context that gives critical pop. This flat 2D traditional contemporary Japanese painted figure, DOB, is the abbreviation for ‘why’ which reflects the contempt for the emptiness of today’s consumer’s society. The useless spending of unneeded goods that congests our society, and creates the poorer to become poorer and the rich to become rich. Making people buy unneeded goods that consume their soul.

The introduction of western styles, reflect on the issues of globalisation and technology, with further contemporary media of the subculture of ‘otaku’ that in itself derived from the introduction of American comics. This is another of the main influences that is had by the artist.

It has been designed with a simple composition in mind. The lack of shading to show 3D qualities and this shows the relationship with the style of critical pop, which is the style it is created in, with the simple form of use of a small array of colour, bold shapes and little tonal work.

The simplicity of the work enhances the sub-cultural element that backs up the overall principle of the almost sarcastic smile on the figures face. This greatly contrasts to the difficulty and intrigue of Yoo Seung- Ho’s piece, Once upon a time.


This traditional Korean landscape painting, With the rocky landscape, the high horizon line and traditional Korean building tucked away in the bottom left corner with the excellent formed tree in front. Created by Seung- Ho is in fact made up of thousands of grain sized ‘Hangul’ (traditional script of Korea), which is used instead of brushstrokes. This unique element has given Yoo Seung- Ho much praised as one who has rejuvenated the artistic and spiritual practise of traditional Korea arts, in his generation.
This process which would have been time consuming is a way for the artist to use the words to introduce another element to the design. VAS went well with me not giving a crap about it, i seem to lose interest really easy. We did a silk painting.. every ones didn't turn out like they wanted, mostly the gutto not stopping the ink from running sometimes. Mine was off Hellsing, (awesome anime) and i didn't finish it but i got a c something for it.

We were suppose to be doing tie dyeing as well, but we didn't, we should be doing that next term as well as shirt design.

Boards art on the other hand... We did straddy journals or an installation piece. I did a journal, and i got c minus or plus for writing and the same mark for layout. It was rushed, but i think i deserve a better mark cuz i was one of a few that at least had all the pics in the book that was required, other people got higher marks then me and had barely any pics in it. But i could of done better, so i shant bitch about it.

Our next thing is 'him and her' Have no clue about what it is about, but i am thinking of doing an installation piece with photos of a guys body, (not mine if i can, its not good enough) and photos on OHT plus music, and maybe even a vid playing onto the installation...
I haven't really thought it through with my teacher, so i will let you know about it when i know about it.

For just mucking around art, i have done two scraps. One is of my love interest, Locky, It is a pic of him that i can kinda remember seeing him.. It is really bad, but i might put it up in scraps. And another is a sketch of two boys eating on a bench off the movie kicking and screaming. If i can be bothered, i will put these two pieces of dog spew up for all of you to see.

I might try and do some decent artwork when i regain my lost talent.. you know.. that talent that i had but lost before i could show anyone how talented i was
