...actually, I'm too lazy to scan, since the last time I tried, it was epic fail, and I need my tablet and my PC, but all I have is this laptop since there's no net upstairs.

..maybe not pointless, but distracting. I mean, I'm a manga artist, so if I ever do any sidetracking photography escapades, I don't think it's fair to be posting it here for my manga-loving audience.

Lui was the first artist I met on dA. In fact, she's the first friend I ever met on the net. And I haven't even seen her in person. Our friendship started when she replied to a comment I made to her fanfic, and checking if she had any IM's, tried contacting her. There you go (She's three years my junior by the way, if you manage to get any ideas).

Anyway, like me, she hardly uploads anymore. But when she does, expect a shocker. Her colors are so lively and vibrant, and her style is so unique and fresh. A lot of my faves are her work... And she looking at her work taught me and pushed me to draw even better too. How's about that?

I haven't had the will to touch my deviantart account for a while, mainly because the deviations keep piling up and I am compelled to comment on the ones I like, and I really don't have any new material to post here.

As you can see, most of my deviations now focus on photography. Although I don't have any formal training in this art (yeah, and I had formal training in manga drawing, when?), and my camera isn't actually professional-grade, some people say that my shots are pretty much stellar. Plus, photoshop is my best friend.

The thing is, I'm posting a lot of my artshots, including last week's "Visions of Manila" and "Artist at Work" minishoots since I don't have access to a tablet and I'm too lazy to fire up the scanner, because the internet in my main computer is busted. So I rely on the downstairs wifi using a laptop. So there.

I do, however, have plenty of new sketches on my sketchpad (autographed by too, ), which I am excited to share to he people who watch me.

And, speaking of which, I will start featuring galleries. Once a month, I'll feature an artist on my watchlist who, in my opinion, pretty much rocks. Okay.. here goes.

THIS MONTH'S FEATURED DEVIANT IS...


I met ~starlightinajar during the OMAKE maid cafe 19 months back. Back then, she was shooting her friends (she even got a couple of shots of me as a butler, if I remember correctly). Back then, I didn't really think she was approachable. But I was wrong. LOL
I started having discussions with her on what was going on here in the DA scene, especially photography dramu. She's my principal inspiration when it comes to photography, mainly because her work is just fantastic.

Her signature style creates atmospheric, to the point of dream-like pictures. She uses a variety of techniques (which I too am dying to learn ), and has a lot of models at her disposal (that, I DON'T have. ). What impresses me most is her ATTENTION TO DETAIL, as she would spend literally DAYS processing a photo (which, for me, would take around 5-10 minutes). I aplaud that, The mark of a true artist.

This one's slightly... overdue. Haha.I'm actually trying to give myself motivation to study for tomorrow's Biochem finals not that I won't pass anyway, LOL

I haven't been drawing lately other than minor scribbles. Seriously, my drawings have deteriorated in my opinion... I'm just not putting enough effort into art lately. I've been drawing the exact same things over and over again. Gah... Creativity has also gone down due to the influx of scientific knowledge.

To detoxify, though, I've been cosplaying more and more... And I may get the chance to have a photoshoot late this coming May, if permitted. I'm not shifting into photography or anything... But my aesthetic eye has far surpassed my wrist in terms of art.

So basically I declare it to be officially busted. This means I wouldn't be submitting much art lately, save for traditional art (I still have my scanner... But I really suck at traditional), and some photography I've been working on.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how much a wacom costs. If it's below 3000 I'll buy it, since I have the capability of saving that much in the span of a month, so my bank account should recover relatively quickly (and also given that I already have costumes for my cosplay plans to last me around half a year). I don't want to ask for one of them during the holidays since my sister already told me I'll get an ipod or a camera for myself.

...The semester just ended for me. Out of the six finals I had to endure, I was exempted from four , which pretty much represents all the subjects I have which are available for exemption (Physics 71, )

This means, I can draw and cosplay all I want for the remainder of October all the Way until the 11th of November, where I shall face the wrath of the departments once again.

...Anyway, I'm working in collab with ~JE3 and an undisclosed deviant on a manga. You should see it hit devart real soon. I'm in charge of story, cover design, and coloring...

It's summer term.. and I finally figured out how t conect to UP's wifi network. So now, after chem 18.1, I decided to rest for a while before heading home

Basicaly, I'm overloaded this summer. I have chem 18 from 7:30-9:30 AM, then humanistic studies 20 from 9:45-11:45, then chem 18.1 from 12-4:00. It's really exhausting. and we don't have break days like in regular semesters and I don't get to eat lunch because clases are 15 minutes apart. *sigh* I miss eating at World Chicken.

I'm still working on ~tenshi-no-hana-chan's art meme. it's real annoying and such.

After ozine, I became part of HCC, Hyper chappy club. A cosplay group. Wahahaha... Who knew my eriol costriping drew that much attention?

I just came home from a nasty chem 14 exam. Yesterday was also the end of the University of the Philippines-Manila fair, Which majority of the student body and the faculty didn't even know existed.

Artwise, I'm too busy to draw anything (let alone improve my skills) and my camera (that old Kodak easyshare) is already showing signs of retirement, given that its photo quality wasn't really good to begin with.

Anyway, I've started cosplaying... Sort of. During the UP fair, I was assigned as a butler in OMAKE's maid cafe. And it would seem that I look like a retarded butler at that. I would like to post some pictures but seeing that I don't have a decent camera with a decent battery pack and a decent resolution-size ratio, I'm afraid I'll post none.

The internet has been down for the past couple of weeks. This means I can't do anything computer-related... nadah.. The freakin' call center is not responding to our calls. I must have killed them in my sleep. anyway, there are tiny windows of internet which I am exploiting (like right now)
So basically I can't deviate... because my PC is useless without the freaking connection... So don't expect any deviations from me in a long WHILE (before I beat the crap out of the internet company or jump to another ISP). Having said that, I am terribly sorry to ~czaren because I can't draw THIRD yet... But I have sketched her in my sketchbook (given to me as a parting gift by my beloved rishai chan ).

Speaking of Which, I haven't heard from Rishai chan in a WHILE.... That also makes me sad...

And also, The people over at CAS only pay attention to me when they need something .. Oh yes, A couple weeks into colege and I still don't have decent friends like ~GaoVan so much for being blockhead...

Another add to my list is that my phone hs been stolen... again. ... which makes this the fourth I've lost, and the 6th in my collection.. So I can't get in contact with ~GaoVan or RIshai-chan, or ny other person caring for me in that matter...

anyway, I'm working on a kuroi tsubasa flash movie... hehehe...... It's more complex than it seems and I may finish it in a month or two...~GaoVan's helping me by supplying some of the frames (or maybe I'm just stealing )

that reminds me... I can't draw page 3 of Kuroi because of a fork in the storyline... I might as well scrap page 2 as well... I just have to go to ~GaoVan's house to finalize somethings

anyway, I pretty much like what I've done... except for the following:
The inking is terrible. Lots of gaps where they shouldn't... I don't particularly like the two panels with cross-hatches. they sucked... big time.
on a lighter note, Miri looks awesome... I made full use of my talent to make 'expressive eyes'... or so they are called. Man, I wish I can let you guys see...
I also liked the effect that I did with Miri... with her scarf and ponytail blowing in the wind (falls in love with Miri )
hehehehe... yamitsuki looks fat in one of the panels... ...

Ever wondered what a past love, a couple of high teenagers, and a game of dare does to someone like me? This

Well, as we were about to graduate and all, III-Linnaeus had a little get-together before graduation practice began. So, we started with the mandatory picture-taking... check.
Then came a game of marco polo under the baking sun... check
Then came a game of sing a song of samson (is that right?) The mechanics of the game is that you have to say an example of an object found under a certain given topic... Someone who fails to do so would be given an option: do a dare (and knowing my former classmates, you will not like their dares) or stick your head in the garbage can for ten whole seconds. So, what did I do?

Well, I failed to call upon the name of an english vegetable so I was given a choice: either kiss Hime-sama, or stick my head in the garbage. Soon they replaced kissing hime-sama with something incredibly horrid that I dare not explain. So, I opted to stick my head into the foul-smelling rubbish mascians everywhere dispose of... Afterwards was another round. The reason why they didn't want me to kiss Hime-sama was that it was like she was the one being dared, so if she lost, I would have to kiss her...

And she did lose. The topic was "college courses" and she failed to cite an example. So I ended up kissing her... in the hand. She was very hesitant, but unlike me, she'd rather have her dignity lost than stick her head in the garbage can...

Also, I have been so overcome by hurt and revenge that I am blinded by the fact that I was hurting my best friend, something I vowed never to do...

Lately, I'm having inspiration everywhere. Like this morning when I entered my favorite store... Tokyo Kids (You know, that store that sells anime goods at insanely high prices)... Staring at all the goods inspired me to draw THIRD (well, her costume at least)... This new costume will showcase her creativity and artistic ability... She likes to do things in a grand way (like the way she announces 'CHOU! The butterfly has arrived!' everytime she enters the scene)... Oh well...

And, Just when I was riding the train home one afternoon, inspiration hit me again.. inspiration for REVENGE... I'm gonna draw 's character, Makoto and Princess Arumi (yep... I made that character for Makoto... What is it with Sages and Princesses?) Kissing... yes, those two will be kissing each other... oh, sweet revenge!

anyway, enough of my drabbling, I still have a lot of things to do...

• First up is THIRD. She's from Kosokonate, the latest volume of kuroi tsubasa.. She's mad at me because I killed her... (Her real name's NATSU, by the way... but she prefers to be called THIRD)
  
• Next up is YAMITSUKI... yep, my alter ego is also mad at me because I killed Dante... Dante wasn't supposed to die, but still, he had to...
  
• Then there's Sakurako... I made her breathe life to a doll...

anyway, I've been Obssesing about THIRD. She just became my favorite character... She's actually a clone of a girl who died codenamed FIRST... Now, what happened to SECOND? I don't know...
FIRST's name is Natsu (Which means summer) and her body is preserved for some sort of "ressurection"... Her relationship with Yami is still unknown, but she got angry at him and took her own life... As you may know, Kuroi Tsubasa characters are inspired by real-life people... so Who's THIRD in my life? dunno...

I have decided to draw a story that's been bugging me for weeks... I'm gonna call it "SOURCE" (bad name, I know ... but I guess the title's kinda like BLEACH)... Well, the storyline is a little more interesting that Kuroi Tsubasa and the main Character is a NON-SUE!!! woohoo!!!...
anyway, as we all know, I destroyed 's tablet... and so, we need to replace it. I think our manager Extra_terrestrial will take care of the matter...

Now, Kuroi Tsubasa is still in hiatus because I destroyed the tablet... But from what Extra_terrestrial has told me, he can get it fixed maybe around next week... This means that the contest entries are due by around February 10.. I'm sorry but that's my deadline. I may extend it, though, depending on the results of Extra_terrestrial's journey...
