Standard apology for not having updated this journal in eleventy squillion years: I'm sorry I haven't updated this journal in eleventy squillion years. Everyone else updates their journals with interesting stuff, I just don't have much to say.

2. Shop is going well. It's paying its rent, which is a big deal for a small business that's only been open a couple of months.

3. Storm season hasn't started yet, so there're no new lightning photos.

In the "new news" department, we have:

- I bought a new dining table and chairs. OH YEAH.
- I'm reading Dawkin's latest book, and it's as spiffy as I expected.
- I recently bought an old Olympus OM 50mm f1.8 lens and an adaptor so I can whack it on my E-510, so you can readily anticipate a deluge of photographs of very small items enjoying themselves in the tiny slice of clarity between the front bokeh and the back bokeh.
- All is well.

Take care, drive carefully.

R.

Hello, friends, followers and freaks.

I apologise for my recent lack of activity here. I've had a bunch of other things getting in my way, and old DeviantArt has fallen into the low priority basket.

Among other things, we're working on opening a new (physical, bricks and mortar) shop for selling lightning photographs in Lightning Ridge, which is consuming a huge amount of my time. If all goes to plan, that'll be open for business within a couple of weeks.

Otherwise, things are good, all is well and I don't really have anything exciting to report. Sorry to be such a boring person, but at least I don't have any bad news.

Thanks, folks.

Hello. I'm updating my journal because the horrendously old entry on my profile page was annoying me as much as it probably annoyed everyone else.

The storm season is effectively over here, so there'll be no new lightning photographs for a few months. (Unless something wildly unexpected rolls in, but hey.) (EDIT 4/4: It did.)

In other news, my laptop battery has decided to expand like a pufferfish, and is (naturally) out of warranty, so now I'm out of pocket $200 for a new battery. Hoorah! I'm also running my Macbook off of AC power only, which means (for reasons I cannot fathom) that it's running at about 60% efficiency. It takes me twenty minutes to open Photoshop. And I have webpages to design. Sigh.

So yeah. Haven't updated this because not much has happened, and I'm really not the bloggy type. In fact, I hate blogs. And I hate the word "blog" even more. It sounds like a euphemism for something I don't think I want to know about.

Russ out!

Oh, and HDR it to death. And put a nifty vignette around it.

And then you get to watch my head explode as I try and figure out which category to put it under.

-

Meanwhile, in other news:

Sun-Seeker [link] has been kind enough to feature some of my (and Syndyne's [link] ) pictures in a journal feature, which I appreciate endlessly.
