I pull my new Voigtlander Bessa with a 1.4 lens out on Christmas day, and it doesn't work. The batteries have been changed and still no luck. I was told by a camera shop to send it back. Only half the way through the film the fucker dies!

I wasn't too bothered about not being able to take pictures on Christmas.........but I am going to PARIS in 3 days! What shit timing. Im so pissed of that I can not use my new fast glass range finder in Paris. Now I have the big clunk of a SLR mirror that will definetly get me noticed!

So im demanding a refund.....and will get a mechanical shutter instead....like a Leica! maybe....mmm

Give me your Leica now!

Its 5:15am after a night out.....what a better time than now to write a DA entry. Been out due to my first term ending....and everyone is going home for x mas

I have ordered a brand new Voigtlander Bessa R3a.......not forgetting a f/1.4 lens. Yeah I wish it was a Leica but I could get this camera with a decent lens cheaper then a M6

Wow 'wide the fuck open' as who would say? f/1.4 i'm actually exited

I am going to Paris just after the New year.....which a range finder will be great for...wanted a proper one for a long time

Staying one night in London before we travel should be cool as well.........two great cities and bolocks loads of film....strictly B&W. I intend to document everything

My latest university work sucks big style.....maybe share some images in a journal soon....as they dont fit into my gallery. A new project though....'B&W' brief...which kicks ass so im going to do street/ documentary photography......how good is that? plus back into the darkroom!

I think its bed time now........5:45am.........im suffering from lack of sleep due to deadlines etc

Sorry I haven’t uploaded much lately…things have been busy. I have been shooting lots and lots of film lately. I am scanning a load in this week….will hopefully have some cool stuff soon.

Even my uni work is slipping….just can not get any motivation for the briefs….I’m just going out and shooting film on off topic subjects.

Oh I’m buying a Leica M6 tomorrow….I hope. It isn’t in the most perfect condition……but I am getting it for a lot cheaper. A bit of the paint worn away round the sides. Im so exited! Haha.

I’ve got many pictures to share but I have to get them scanned in first. This place really is a photographers dream……nowhere like it in the world (not sure if that’s a good or bad thing)

At my university we have a free c41 and e6 processing machines so I am very happy. I have shot my first slide film……which has turned out great

Oh and great people. I love to be round equally passionate photographers (well most of them)

I really want to go to a city to take lots of pictures. Maybe London, or Amsterdam. Has anyone been to Amsterdam....what is the architecture like?

14 days till I move to Uni. I have my first brief. I have to make Blackpool look good......what an impossible task

I may start featuring non DA photographers in my journals. I feel that there are a lot of deviants who only take there inspiration from other DA members.....when in fact there are some stunning photographers out in the world. Would anyone be interested?

I have 66 people watching me now. That doesn’t sound much coming from some of the bigger deviants who are watching me but......it is sort of special to be in a way.....so thanks!

I love my journal rants

I have gone through 9 films since I left college.....its costing me to much to buy and get developed at the lab. Colour developing machine at uni which is great. I have been making a lot of images of family and friends lately.....good images to take to uni to remember. May upload a few....sort of feel a little personal

My pc keeps crashing which is really starting to piss me off big style. Can not wait till I buy a laptop....soon. A apple mac.....which are stress, virus and crash free.

Got a film in the lab getting developed........will hopefully have some good stuff on that.

I love film so much at the moment! I have never enjoyed photography so much as i am now.....so that is cool

I have some (non street photography) but just don’t think it will fit into my gallery now. My main passion is 'street photography/ documentary'. Might just upload all of my future uni photos into my scraps to keep them separate

Nearly finished another film so will get that into the lab soon.....exited to see what comes out.....been experimenting with focal distances. Judging distanced to focus can be hard when I do it a waist level.....harder than it looks.....but getting use to it.

God I love street/ photojournalism so much at the moment.....all I want to do

Wish I was less nervous and paranoid about what people think when I am street shooting. Yeah 'non' photographers think your some sort of freak I guess. Or even bye some narrow minded photographers actually. But

Yeah I take a camera wherever I go......so what? To work, to college, shopping, out with friends.....but you never now. I have just got 2 realise I will probably never have one of those Cartier Bresson moments. Still haven’t had a proper look at his book I bought a few weeks ago.

I am actually a bit pissed of at the moment with my latest work....just because I haven’t seen any of my images. The problem with shooting film....but I love it so much more. One of my films cocked up inside the camera.....so lost that. Went to a processing lab and have to wait a week to get a film back.....which has cost me a lot to develop and scan. And I have a film full that I can only hand develop and will have to wait ages till I can do that.

I have actually been doing photography lately......but just can not get the files which is frustrating......will hopefully get them uploaded one day.

Just got paid which is good.......can afford more processing costs and travelling.

I am already thinking to much about Uni at Blackpool....I hope it works out well hope and I will love it. I suppose it is an inspiring dump for a photographer. Well maybe not a total dump......just a naff seaside town

I might have a go at putting a colour film through my rangefinder actually.

No relationship at the moment....so I guess I am finding 'solitude' in photography......no idea If that is even the right word or not HAHA

I love it because it is so small (pocket size as well as taking 35mm film) I don’t actually realise this camera is in my pocket the majority of the time. Its also preferred with street photography due to the fact it has a silent shutter instead of that big noisy clunk. Due to how small it is it doesn’t get noticed the majority of the time instead of the obvious SLR I was using.

So hopefully I should have my first film back from the lab soon, well in the next week. Just hoping I have some good shots on it, not expecting to have any as I am still getting use to the focusing which is a pain but I am sure I will get use to it

Leeds Metropolitan- Unconditional offer (meaning if I get crap results they still want me) –But not massively impressed by the facilities or the students work.

Hull University- Unconditional offer (Again meaning if I get crap results they still want me) -But this place is too near to home, and its time to move out and live somewhere else in the country. The facilities were the worst I have seen as well as the work quality.

Lincoln university- Conditional offer –But with that course I have to do video and I just can not be bothered, wanting to concentrate on photography.

Nottingham Trent University- Conditional offer –I Love the City, the Tutors, the work, the facilities are all fantastic!

Blackpool school of art and design- Conditional offer (asked for low grades, which changes due to how much they want the student) –The Town is a dump. But the course and reputation are exceptional. I got a really good feeling about the place. It was like it was a private community inside this not so nice place. The students work is far the best I have seen from any University’s. The equipment and studios are all great, with everything I could possibly need. Oh and they get students work with the biggest celebrity photographers every year and the chance to stay in London to do this. And get the legendary photographers work I studied in my first year! Check out ‘Martin Parr’s work’ I would pay anything to talk to him.

So Blackpool it is! Lots of Bums and crack heads to take images of! (you may know my idea metagore)

I love street photography at the moment! No idea why I have just picked up a fascination for this. I have been doing a bit lately so I will definitely share this with you soon, After I upload more fashion images…..not even sure if I am any good at it actually. I am going to buy a range finder for street photography. A black and white film camera (how it should be done with street) It is also more silent and compact so people don’t see you.
