Some I did during the Malta comicon... not very good, but worth uploading here.

Also I uploaded some work I started before and after the comicon which I had to pospone because of the comic.

About the comic, the comic i present at the comic was the "pilot" for a five parter (maybe 3 or 4) which i had finished at 5:10am that day on saturday, the day of the comicon!!!! So it wasn't actually finished 100%. But i got really good feedback, everyone laught where they were sopost to and everything and wanted to know what will happen next.

so now i'm going to re do some pannels, re-do the begining, scrap 1 scene and add another and then colour it. And create a cover... which i have "writters block" on.

then start the script for the second installment, all the time while doing a full time course at uni, working, and doing other stuff

So the Dark Angel cartoon is all drawn and coloured, I only have animation and sound left. At the moment I'm waiting for the people to send me the recorded voices and I can continue.

At the moment i'm on a little cartoon break, which was well needed as I've been working for nearly a year on it. So during this break I brough a Digital Ink pad ( [link] ) and I've been using it a lot, hance all the recent picture uploads. I've mainly been uploading a bunch of The Tribe fanart because a while back I had told someone (you know who you are) that I would do them. So you be expecting more uploads in the upcoming weeks.

Also after I finish the cartoon, I might start doing commitions for cash, like why not? Any suggestions of what I should do? e.g. cost, ect...

I'm a member of the largest Dark Angel forum... the Dak Angel Network [link] We have been up since 2005 and have over 300 members with more than 14310 articles. I'm also the forum's official artist. now this is what this topic is going to be about... The day of the Pulse. A perfect time for a campaign like this. All fans know the meaning of this date. We want to make a Protest on this day in front or nearly the FOX bulding in Los Angeles. The exact meeting place is still being discussed in the forum. On this protest we would like to present , with a tv and a projector or something, the premier of the animated Dark Angel Network Cartoon. This one is like a fanmade continuation of Dark Angel. Don't miss it!!!
Also fans should send letters like to the Barcodeday ( [link] ) a while earlier to our contact person, not directly to FOX. He/she will present all the letters that are being sent to him in a huge mail bag and present them in front of the FOX building, this way we know for sure that the letters will arrive. Also as another activity could be, that an experienced novelist can read a passage from his new major book about the Day of the Pulse , called "ONE SECOND AFTER".
In ONE SECOND AFTER, the EMP attack happens on an unspecified day in early spring, and occurs about an hour later in the afternoon (after taking into account the time zone difference). In most respects, though, the new book is perfectly consistent with the Dark Angel world of 2009. (It reminds a lot of the aftermath of the Pulse attack described in "Haven," and is set in a community of a similar size to Cape Haven, but it happens on the other side of the country, in North Carolina.)

All these should be again recorded on video/pictures and published in the DA Network

The reason i'm doing this post is to tell you this, the last blog on the dark angel network myspace page ( [link] ), but for you lazy cat's, i've pasted it below:

"We need to search with more energy for people in the USA (best around L.A. or on the west coast) who can represent us there on the "Barcodeday" and "Day of the Pulse". Anyone who can take the lead and the organization on our behalf there.
Because i think nobody from Europe or the rest of the world can afford a trip to Los Angeles on this dates. Sadly but that's the reality.
Therefore when there is a fan from the USA who reads this, and is willing to help us in any way pls post here or get in contact

The people we're searching for should be than someone in charge of for example where the meeting place will be, or someone in charge of Allison Lightning's idea of the scene reenactment, someone in charge of contacting the tv news and news papers, someone in charge of hanging up day of the pulse flyers and posters in university and high schools all around LA, someone in charge at looking at the actual legal side to it (see what we need to do about protests, ect) we need actual protesters. Look if 20 people decide to go, and they bring another 10 to go with them, that’s already 200 people so this is a word of mouth thing.
And we're helping these persons from here as much as we can. You'll be all the time in direct contact with us.

Hey everyone. In Malta we have this holiday called Karnival. It is held during the week leading up to Ash Wednesday, and everyone wears a fancy dress. I call it a mix between halloween and brazilian carnival (with much less naked women... we hold it in febueary and its COLD!!!) Now last year I dressed up as Slash from GNR, this year I'm gonna be Axl Rose. Now i got nearly all the costume ready, the long blond wig, the BLUE PAISLEY BANDANNA, leather jacket, my mum is going to make me a leather kilt, the axl rose sun glasses. So what's left is the t-shirt, whats a good Axl t-shirt? Now i have about 6 gnr t-shirts, including the appitite for destruction one but i wanted one that axl wore in the sweet child o'mine music video, the sunset strip tatto one -> [link] [link]

So to start off my Dark Angel Cartoon is moving on smoothly, all primary drawing is finished, at the moment I’m digitizing the outlines of the last scene so then I just have to colour the last scene and add background to it and then animation and sound is left. Just to let everybody know that some voices for the cartoon are still available (Alec and Normal) and you can be one of them.

So now here is my real reason for this blog. I just received a letter from the education department for an interview for an Art supply teacher position. In my interview I would like to also show them a small portafolio of my digital work. So my question is how should I print them to be presented as a portafolio and which ones should I print?

At the moment i'm doing a dark angel cartoon for the dark angel forum [link] . So we had talked about it on other topics, and knew it would eventually come... A Dark Angel Network cartoon. I was thinking of doing something short (less then 5 minutes) to promote Dark Angel Network, the Barcode day and in keeping DA alive. Now I need some help with voice actors, We've got some places already filled up like for Max we have Geneva Locke who played young Max in the show. Now i need a voice actor for Alec (who was played by Jensen Ackles) and Normal (played by J.C. MacKenzie), some other places like Original cindy (Valarie Rae Miller) and Sketchy (Richard Gunn) are kindda filled but if you think you can pull them off, just pm me. If you can do it or know someone who can, Its only a few lines so its NOT ALOT of work. If anyone's interested in helping me, send me an e-mail @ dean_gtf@hotmail.com or pm me and send me some samples of yourselves saying something in a the particular voice and then i'll send you the script... thanks in advance.

Second, sorry for the lack of deviations but this cartoon, guitar lessons and work are taking up all my time, but when the cartoon is finished, promise me i have a whole list of works to do. And the third and last cartoon preview deviation is also taking a while as the last scene is a fight scene so theres much more to draw (example i have 25 frames for just one "action move")

Now i need i thing. Voice actors... look we don't have to be impressionists, it just has to be pretty close or reminds us of the English speeking actors. Americans (or Canadian, or Jamaicans or people can do the accents well) will be preferred. So if you know anyone who can do it, or sound like the ENGLISH actors, get their asses here and contact me... or even good voice manipulator programms will do.

On the 17th of May 2007 there is going to be a protest in L.A. in front of the FOX building to bring back (in any way possible) the hit FOX series Dark Angel that was wrongfully cancelled after only 2 seasons. This protest is being organized by joint collaboration of many Dark Angel fans sites that are still running and updated frequently; they are all united at the forum [link]

Despite a strong fan base (and a second season finale directed by James Cameron), Dark Angel was cancelled in 2002 after just two seasons due to budget costs and low second season ratings. Avid fans of the show attribute the loss of ratings to a misjudgment on the part of FOX Network for airing the second season on Friday evenings instead of Tuesday evenings. In addition, changes to the format and tone of the series in the second year are also cited as contributing factors to its demise. Many of these changes were unavoidable due to budgetary concerns, departing actors, and 9/11, which forced the show to downplay its post-apocalyptic setting. Initially a third season appeared to be green lit, but when Joss Whedon reworked his Firefly pilot, Fox chose Firefly for a Fall slot at the expense of Dark Angel.

This demonstration is called Barcode day and we need all the help we can get, especially from US fans.
