Words to the wise:
Heyy! A new layout for the journal! This layout goes as complete thanks to Claire Jones... Beautiful work!

Alright. Here's my little rant, so bear with me...

Ok so this is DeviantArt.. Not Penthouse Forum. Incase many of you have yet to realize.. when posting things on here, it is likely to be viewed by people of ALL ages, and I have a few ticks to knock off.
First, What's the difference between art and porn? I'll tell you the difference.. One you post in a museum... the other you post in Playboy. Big difference, right? I was just viewing a few random pieces around dA, and well, I'm disappointed people!
While I've found a few pieces worthy of a daily deviation that feature the human body, naked of course, I've also found a few that I'm disgusted to see on a website dedicated to artists and their work! And it's not just these deviants that are to blame.. I see many of you have posted comments like "woohoo! Whatta hottie!" etc.
Can we make it a general rule that.. if this isn't something you'd show to your little sister, it's not something you should show a world of artists online? (many of which are only 13- as thats the youngest dA will allow)
Don't worry, I'm not bashing all nudes, just those that don't exactly classify as 'art', but would be more fit to be seen in a teenage boys dirty magazine box.

Okay... Rant over.

NOW FOR: A New Deviation To Enjoy

"Heathrow - WIP"

Words to the wise:
It is! It is true! Decknine has returned! Ta Da! OK. Here's my GIANT apology- Its coming... just be patient...

Alright alright. So starting off with a few words here- IM SORRY X 10000000
Mostly, I'm sorry to those fan-artists. Here's what happened:
I posted a news piece claiming that I was going to host an exhibition for FanArt! Sounds fantastic, right? Well it was! I'm a big fan of fanart, and let me say, I got alot of response to that news piece! People were submitting their work to me left, right, and center.
Now here's the kicker. Just as soon as this happened, I decided to take a hiatus from DA. Mostly, I had grades to catch up on- and one killer case of writers block.
I said i'd only be gone for a week.
That week turned into a month..
and well, here we are, about half a year later, and FINALLY i've returned.
So here's the giant apology- SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY!
but yes, I'm back.
One more thing- I regret to inform you all that I'm probably not going to carry on this fanart exhibition. I think you've all figured that one out. Once again- my apologies!
But please- if anyone is willing to carry it out, please do! Also, feel free to contact me for the names and links of deviants with pieces they want to submit!
And last bust not least- You'll see only one new deviation this year so far from me, and alas.. its a joke deviation too. Sorry. Will get crackin on the new ones. Yes, Don't get the wrong idea when I say "exhibition". I don't mean people with their tops off.
Though, If you are a male... feel free to take your top off anyways.

Yes its true! I've published my first News Article- and I think its going to be great
So check my recently submitted news to find it, Its an article about a FanArt Exhibition I'm putting on- why? Because.
Well, if you care to check my 'favorites', you'll realize theirs a whole section dedicated to FanArt from around dA, so i've decided that this time, I'm going to make the FanArt come to me!
I'm going to put together an exhibition of FanArt from around dA. No descrimination against any types of FanArt. Its all welcome!
Anyone can submit anything, just send me a link to your piece in a note.

Ah its going to be fun! I've got a nice little crowd of people willing to submit some art to me.
Oh, and FANFICTION writers out there? Because frankly, there isn't much lit being submitted- so c'mon! Also, this isn't just for art (though I love the art!) But also any type of craft, or jewellery or photography or lit or whatever you have thats based on your love for your favorite game, movie, tv show, cartoon.... book. HONESTLY its all welcome

Any questions? Feel free to note me.

UPDATE AS OF JAN 19:
Sorry to make you all wait for this, it seems that alot has come up recently that I need to deal with, so currently I am hiatus-ing my activity on dA. NO, that doesn't mean I'm leaving! It just means that for another week or so, I'll be more or less inactive.

In other delightful news- I have yet to start on any work for the past two weeks, so I am seriously dreading the start of the week. Lets hope the procrastinating me takes a hike and good old fashioned working me moves back in.
Lets hope.
2008! What a way to bring in the new year, and I cannot believe its finally here!

Now, as difficult as it is for me to register that the new year has actually come, I must say a final farewell to 2007.
2007 was an amazing year for me, and was in every way life changing. I definitely won't forget such a spectacular and (lets face it) EPIC year at that!
I cannot believe it's come to a close! Last year's new year party seemed only yesterday (though i realize it was yesteryear. No need to point it out)
Welcome 2008! Here's hoping this year has just as many ups (but not as many downs) as the previous one!
Also, at the moment I'm downloading projectBC's epic contention demo, and i believe it's just finished! Lets try to make this a short journal entry.
I've picked from the collection! Started with Lewis Caroll, after much deliberation over dante, but there you have it!
And one last thing- Check my favorite news column, and you'll find a piece called "Young Authors"
Click it, and it'll bring up a news piece about young authors from all around dA, and guess who's on that list? Yes, its me! I'm the last one under Prose, with my piece "His... Pt:1 Face"
Please check it out!

NOW FOR the Latest of the Latest:
Ah Christmas! A time of commercialized love and false generosity. I hope you all had a Happy Hallmark Day too

Celebration time! I've hit 200 pageviews.. woo hoo!
Sorry, but i may actually post a journal about every hundred that i hit (deal with it)
Anyways, Christmastimetimetime was quite nice (despite my complete hatred of this holiday- what can you do...)
On the bright side, i got a personal laptop (HUZZAH) so that i may spend AS MANY HOURS on dA as i want (because i'm not on here ENOUGH - ahem.. that was sarcasm.. i am online ALWAYS).

And also, some new books! Homer and Dante and Lewis Caroll and Poe and Chaucer- ITS BEAUTIFUL
No seriously.. i just stare at the collection now and drool a slight bit. I love it

So all in all, here's hoping that this all will help me in writing. Oh, and i was asked by most my extended family, once they found out what books i had asked for for christmas, if i was going to go into English for university.
Uh, yeah i have no idea. Basically, i would LOVE that- but i mean.. theres no job security there, really..
*sigh* the pointless queries of my life..

Here's hoping for a happy new years! (and yes.. i do like new years, because it hasn't completely turned into a despiteful holiday of meaningless advertisment for the consumerist world)
As someone who had a lisp (as a child) it was really a sad and inexcusibly embarrasing thing to not be able to say what your affliction was. Oh cruel world, oh how i loathe thee!

And onto a more serious topic, while perusing the forums, who could deny the awesomeness of what ~Mune-Squared wrote? I give you, The dAightfold Path:

Given my time lurking around this site as well as the friends I know with accounts, it seems to me that there are eight tenets that dA seems to hold sacred. I call these the dAightfold Way/Path because it sounds cool and is vaguely Buddhist/Confucianist.

Right Artwork: Since dA is an art site, there has to be artwork involved. It has to be eye-catching and appealing, if not actually good.

Right Fandoms: This is key, for those fans will fav, watch, and otherwise bolster the e-penis of whoever appeases them. A few key fandoms make up at least 90% of the popular artwork and the drama it causes.

Right Anime: Anime style tends to be the strongest style, especially if it's OMG KAWAII. Cartoonists have a harder time, but a Cartoon/Anime hybrid gets you mad brownie points.

Right Fetish: Yaoi is a popular one, but a furry, loli or bondage is fine too. Fetishists can dampen a rep, but they're second only to fandoms in influence.

Right Ecchi: If the fetishes are too squicky for you, just draw ecchi. Ecchi:fanboys::Yaoi:fangirls. Tits/Panties=Quality.

Right OCs: No artist is complete without their own speshul avatar/OC. OCs can either win you more fan favor or make you look legit than the average artist.

Right Skills: All of these tenets need a solid foundation, and this is it. Your skills don't have to be t3h 1337; they just need to be able to pump out what's best.

Right Snark: If all else fails, get on Complaintopia/popular artist's sites and start mocking all and sundry. Who knows, you might end up banne...I mean on ED someday.

If one follows the dAightfold Path truly, untold success/pleasure/delicious cake will be theirs. Maybe. Possibly.

So true, let us now bow down before the godliness of all dA forums.
In other news, if anyone cares for the matter, HOLIDAYSROCKMYSOCKS.
basically, i had forgotten the sweetness of a pillow, clung to in the mornings wake. The sadistic laughter at the unused alarm, waiting for the day when it can once more, throw you into the quantum abyss.

i have problems.

NOW FOR the Latest of the Latest:
If something is new, it was never there before.
If something is improved, it existed previously, and you are now looking at a better version of the old version.
New and Improved is a paradox.

See the CSS? Yes, it's new, but also, not as pretty as the one i had previously.
Although, as pretty as the isuzu backround was.. it was impossible to read, and i think (stop me if i'm wrong) that your sopposed to READ journals, not simply admire their beauty.
That being said, this new CSS is grey and.. grey. And yes, i'd LOVE for anyone who's offering to create a CSS for me thats pretty (and preferably with Rin in it, as you can tell, i'm an obsessed fan. )
Speaking of these CSS's, I'm actually liking it. Mind you, i'd prefer a bit of the old and easy HTML, but hey, technology advances.

I'd like to take this moment to celebrate, the offical, 100 PAGEVIEWS!
Yay, congrats to me.
I know plenty of you out their are celebrating your ten thousandth pageview, but hey, humor me!
I've just discovered the reason behind the sudden hike in pageviews, The forum!
Alright then, here's a hard-earned lesson for the rest of you out there: If you want people to come to your page, and ultimatly look and your gallery, then heres how to do it- GO TO THE FORUMS.
Yes, as soon as you say something on a forum page, someone responds to you (if you don't sound like an idiot, that is- try saying something that actually has meaning behind it). That person who responds.. might just visit your page! Huzzah!
Better yet, be the person who CREATES a forum thread, then lotsss more people notice you, its great!
I've only recently learned this lesson, and now, as your dedicated sensei, i pass it onto you. Learn well and live.

Oh and if anyone (who reads this..?) noticed, I've taken up adding a header (the part in italics) to my journals. Basically, i'll explain why i titled the journal entry in the header. (this may prove useful, seeing as most my journal titles mean something to me, and mean nothing to anyone else)
And another addition to the journal- I will always add the Latest of the Latest to the bottom of the page, regardless of how old they are <3
And speaking of which, here they are:

Merry Christmas

Baby Isn't Baby Anymore

"It's A Secret"

So, apart from being surprised with, (yes this is true) haveing exams in THREE out of the FOUR classes i had today, it was otherwise a nice day. Yeah back to that, I gotta get on the ball! The whole day someone was like "Yeah Lora, we got a test next period" MAN i need to get with it.
Oh funny story- So I've got drama class first block, and today my friend is like "I want coffee.. Do you wanna go get some coffee?"
So basically me and him sneak outta class, drive over to MickeyD's and grab a couple Joe's. Basically it was the most fantastic thing I've done during class before (yeah laugh it up). Plus side, he paid. Double plus side, he had the sense to buy one for our teacher too so that she wouldn't get angry when we walked back into class.
Oh and something else- my cell phone has a mind of its own. No Joke. My cell phone is now a Decepticon. Today it started vibrating and flashing and doing all these really (swear blocked) up things. Basically shut it down and banged it around a few times to force it to stop. Wierd stuff.

Yeah apart from all that, there's a couple new things up in my gallery, and a few more things still in my notebook that hasn't been posted yet. Anyone wanna see the latest of the latest, it's called "Catch Your Breath". Give me your thoughts

I must say, writing feels good, and that spell of writers block was just nasty. So here it is, i'm finally started a real story to follow along. "Baku", incase you didn't know.
So it starts of with the Prologue, and then Beggining (now, i know what your thinking, that sounds like two prologues! Well technically it is... I simply needed to have two different pieces of information to put out before the story really begins, so there you have it)
I hope to get some comments on what there is so far, so please feel free to give me all your opinions!
Also, i have a few "His..." peices worked out that i'll type up soon. And one last thing, there is this one story i was working on before that horrible spell of writers block... now it's nearly finished so i may post it in DA, lets see how it goes.
Alright! let it begin!

Infact, i have a few more pieces of the "His..." series worked out, but so far i've only posted Part I: Face.
I'm using it to improve my writing... but i'm thinking of collecting the whole works and somewhere down the road incorporating it into a story? I like what i've written so far, and i find that it's easier to write about people who actually exist, or things that you know, rather than write about subjects completley unexperienced by yourself. A lesson well learned thanks to the "His..." series.
