1. What curse word do you use the most?
Oh dear… fuck, shit, douche… I also have quite a propensity for making up combos that make my mother blush ^^;

2. Do you own an iPod?
I own a video mp3… which is for all intents and purposes and ipod… but I have some great aversion to them that I don’t fully understand.

3. What person on your friends list do you talk to the most?
Definitely MY Lauren. Without a doubt. Whether online or only in my head we have a near constant dialogue going. It’s kinda epic given our personalities.

4. What time is your alarm clock set to?
It changes. Today I wanted to sleep in so 7:07am. Yay 2 hours of sleep!

5. Do you still remember the first person you kissed?
Hahahaa. This can be taken so many ways. Do I remember the PERSON I first kissed? Definitely. It would either be my mum or dad in a totally unromantic more toddler expressing affection type way. Do I remember which one it was? Nope - had the memory of a goldfish on crack back then.

6. Do you remember where you were on 11/9/01?
Oh course. School. History class in the basement of STP. What made it super special was the fact that we had a totally doomsday prof who had been telling us the entire week leading up to it that the world was overdue for another great world war and that we would all most likely get conscripted and die. We were all like ‘wtf homebrey?’ and then 9/11 happened and he was like… ‘Told ya’ and we were like ….. O.O …… ‘Fuck’.

7. Would you rather take the picture or be in the picture?
I’ma agree with *Both* :D If only one then be in the picture. I’m a total narcissist and a camera whore to boot .

8. What was the last movie you watched?
… uh oh…. Ummm in theaters it was Pirate Radio… on dvd… well that’s a little trickier. I guess full movie would be Kingdom of Heaven probably but partial movie is Age of Innocence. I do like me some historical awesome.

9. Do any of your friends have children?
Yep. But none of my same age friends. I have a buncha friends several years older than me though (like 5-10 yrs older) and a couple of them have popped out the minis :D

10. Has anyone ever called you lazy?
Lol! Definitely.

11. Do you ever take medication to help you fall asleep?
Nope but it was recommended that I do. I am an insomniac but I hate meds as a general rule. Just say no to drugs!

… I don’t actually have a cd player as such. The CAR cd player has … Avenged Sevenfold (the latest one) in it?

Chocolate Milk. Has always been one of my 3 favourite (staple) drinks.

Excited! Went to bestbuy today and got all kinds of yummy things for Christmas. Well - SOME yummy things anyways. I managed to pick up Assassins Creed II which looks phenominal and I really can't wait to play it. Down side being that I promised my little brother I'd give it to him for christmas... so it may have to be an ... *early* present once he finishes exams. Also got him UP which he is absolutely obsessed with. Haven't seen it myself but if he likes it chances are good I will too? We have VERY similar tastes in movies most of the time :D As for Moi - I managed to pick up the Star Trek 2 disk thing - already watched it once but can't wait to try out the preview game on the X360 that comes on the second disk :D Also went to chapters abd got the book L: Change the World which is making me all kinds of happy because I have been crushing on him since Volume 1 :D Awesome. And now I'm poor ;)

[x] Dyed at least once Black, bright Red, Blue, Purple – which reminds me, I really do need to redo the purple before All Hallows Eve!!! :D

[ ] Use hairspray, hair gel etc. I’m going with this means on a daily, monthly, weekly, yearly basis? I’ve used it when in plays and the like but my hair HATES such things ^^;
[ ] Change hairstyle regularly Hairstyle or haircut? Either way the answer is no… I have about 3-4 main ways of wearing it – clips into an elaborate updo, schoolgirl braids, ponytail / high bun, or down :D
[ ] Have layers, hair feathered etc. Hahaha – no. My hair is big and curly and makes it’s own damn layers with no input from me :P

Random thoughts as they appear - I apologise for the ridiculousness I am certain will ensue.

1 - Tony Almeida is *hot*. Not in a traditional see him on the street and want to jump him hot - but a like 'I'm fucking Tony Almeida bitches! Watch me look serious and raise my eyebrow while holding my gun and looking sexily like I could do and get away with anything - oh, and in case you were wondering I'm also a ridiculously intelligent, reliable, LOYAL to a fault, ambitious, loving, fiercely protective guy.' Yeah. So I'm massively crushing but dude I can't help it! I kinda REALLY want to see Season 7 now. Massively actually. I've seen seasons 1-4 (about a year and a half apart in two massive like week long sessions during which I watched two Seasons each) but am kinda dreading Season 5 because I love Michelle too and I think I'll be so heartbroken when she dies with Tony's baby :( So fucking unfair! Ugh - I can't blame him for going rather past rogue and into full blown ruthless ^^; Still love him though :heart:

2 - I should really be sleeping right now ^^; It's 1:11 am and I work tomorrow so I have to be up at 7 something which is just less than fun ^^;

3 - I am so screwed thesis wise. I was supposed to get my like proposal pretty much done for today and ask questions and such but that kinda didn't happen so much. I am at least on top of it enough that tomorrow at work (I like multitasking okay ;) ) I can talk to my thesis supervisor and see if she can answer some of the issues that HAVE come up for me. Is it my fault that she is only available during working hours though? Nope - didn't think so :)

4 - I want to watch the last emperor again. That was a really good movie.

5 - My cat licked my fingers... I wiped them off but have yet to wash them in full... so I've been typing with the other hand... but would it really be so terrible to just give'er. I don't wanna get up =P

6 - I wonder if I'd make a good spy or CTU agent? I think in some ways I would but in other ways it'd be a bit of a struggle. Wierdly enough I think the hardest thing for me would be NOT posting about every miniscule aspect of my day on here for my Lauren ..... Yeah that's not happening any time soon?

7 - You knoe what would taste wierd? A combination banana-melon fruit. I'd totally eat it - but how would you successfully merge those textures and tastes? It wouldn't be easy that's for sure.

9 - I'm kinda really pissed at a friend right now. Seven The recent monsoon style rains may have indeed destroyed my beloved MP3 player ^^; I was listening to it coming home from school on Tuesday and the rain was so strong it got THROUGH the thick carrying case, through the protective outer shell, and into the internal electronics. It totally stopped even though it was still *powered on* and then when I tried it later it kept kinda going for 30 seconds and then bouncing back to the beginning of the song ^^; Fingers crossed that it resolves itself soon :heart:

Six I am the first official fangirl of the series 'Born' by :icontheisraelproject107: and have begun the process of creating it's first official fanart!

Five I finally have a thesis topic!

Four Both my parents have gotten their first ever tattoo within the last month which I find hilarious because you would never suspect it of either of them!.

Three I have two Death The Kid rings which I wear on the middle finger of each hand most of the time when I'm not at work (Skulls are cute and all but not exactly Children's Hospital appropriate ^^;).

Two I love the movies Prince of Egypt and Joseph King of Dreams. They combine my love of all things Disney style with the religious stories I grew up on in a musical experience of awesome :D

One I can't find anything I want to eat right now. This is most concerning because I'm hungry. I think I need to make a grocery list post haste.

Zero Okay this is a bit of a cheat because I really do want to mention it but ran out of space - I ordered five pieces from the talented genius artisan :iconheterodyning: last night and I am absolutely in love with her work. Decorinne… I’m sure I’ve explained this before… but Corinne is my first middle name, and de basically means of or related to. Yeah. So it started as De Corinne, and kinda got squishified? How do people pronounce it in their heads btw? Just wondering. Comment me on the phonetics of it kay :)

Absolutely not. I don’t like being judged by people based upon no fixed criteria. That and my art is made for my own amusement and that of my friends. Anyone else is just icing.

Varies. Historically probably Xena, Hercules, and Sinbad, but currently I’m a huge Scrubs, the Mentalist, House, Criminal Minds, and *sigh* Greys fan.

Pretty much everything ^^; If I could only choose one thing it would be poses though. I really struggle with translating anatomy into a 2-d picture ^^;

Neither. Fall. Definitely fall. Honestly though – I like all seasons in small doses. If I had my way we’d go like 2 weeks spring, 2 weeks summer, 2 weeks fall, 2 weeks winter, rinse and repeat.

On the actual walls we have several large wilderness paintings featuring snowscapes, a clock, a large signed painting of the senators playing hockey, and portraits of myself, my brother, and my sister as young children among other stuff.

1. I am kinda in love with and totally want to be Hephaestion. I mean the totally gay version here. Brilliant warrior, follows his visionary best friend and lover all over the known and unknown world. Riches, glory, fame, all that goodness. Dies before his Alexander sending the latter into a spiral of despair and drinking – eventually culminating in his death. Talk about emotastic!

2. I use tinkerbell body lotion when I want to smell delicious *and* be sparkly. It’s like liquid fairy dust!

3. I have some of the most serious commitment issues of anyone I know. When I was little I wouldn’t even do sleepovers because I couldn’t stand the idea of being stuck at that person’s house for more than a few hours.

4. My room smells like scented candles. I have a ton on my little desk because I never put them away and the sunlight makes the smell spread all over the room. Is delicious but makes my nose itchy.

5. My capacity to do work seems to be inversely proportional to the amount of time available during which the aforementioned work can be done. If I have like 13 exams / finals / papers due within a week it’ll be hell but I’ll get it done. If I have one paper due in 2 weeks it’ll take me the whole fricking 14 days to get down to business and I’ll stress myself out insanely along the way with how little is being accomplished. It’s a gift.

6. I’m an insomniac but even when I am actually getting the hours of sleep in I have a very strange natural sleep schedual. My body is most tired between around 4:00 am - 2:00 pm on a regular day – which means I can’t sleep before around 2-3 at the earliest. This results in my averaging around 3-4 hours of sleep a night when work or school wakes me up early – but it is offset by episodes of like 12 hours straight on weekends :D

7. Wind and rain while swimming in the lake at my cottage make me happier than pretty much anything else. Most relaxing and perspective taking experience eveh.

Hmmmm – I got two ^^; Apparently I have a duel personality: Badass Uke meets Chibi Seme! Haha – I think I’m okay with that ;)

The capital of Canada. Home of the federal government and a great place if you want a job that doesnt require you to do any work. Sadly lacking in variety in entertainment, although it is home to a quality NHL team, the Ottawa Senators, as well as the Ottawa 67's OHL team. Ottawa is also home to the Tulip Festival and Winterlude, where you can pick up a Beavertail, the best food in the world. The city has a population of 774,072, fourth largest in Canada, but does not suffer from pollution to the same extent other major cities do.

Alrighty, and with no further ado:

1 – I am a cocky, egocentric, narcissistic individual.

2 – Most people would consider me to be gothic – but while I defy any singular word to encompass me in entirety – if one *had* to define my style it would likely be some mix of Victorian goth, steampunk, theater, emo, punk, prep, and good old-fashioned medieval.

3 – I am in a Masters of Science, Epidemiology degree at the moment.

4 – I love lilacs and find orchids to be incomparably beautiful, though small, simple forget-me-nots are my favourite flowers by far :)

5 – I have traveled to many places including but not limited to Canada, Japan, China, Barbados, Turkey, Spain, Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, The Czech Republic, Vatican City, Italy, Greece, Mexico, and the United States of America.

6 – If I could live at my cottage I would. I find peace there like in no other place.

7 – I have a bit of a thing for weaponry and martial arts. I am practiced in Kendo, Karate, Ju Jitsu, Archery, Fencing, and pole fighting among others and am also proficient with throwing knives. I have an extensive collection of daggers, swords (short, long, and cane), knives (throwing and otherwise), Katanas, Shi-nais, and custom replica blades.

8 – I love books and have my own personal library containing everything from volumes on the great philosophers, the full works of the bard, Poe, paradise lost and other classical texts, to the series of C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, Rice, and Zimmer Bradley, to shelves of manga, to the newer works of up and coming artists including my personal favourite L. M. commonly known as theisraelproject107. :D

9 – Oh good Lord, only halfway done?! Alright, well now that we’re on the subject – I am very religious. Not exactly *orthidox* Catholic - but as Lauren knows, I have spent much time discerning my own view on traditional teachings and distilling out the underlying, timeless moral codes by which I live my life and the perspective through which I understand this world and the next :) I believe in Love above all things. If everything else; everything we do, say, and the tenants we rely upon for backing our actions stem from this one concept – then all else pretty much falls into place – or at least puts us into a position to bring about positive change to the world around us.

10 – I love pocketwatches. Yeah baby.

11 – I have a decorating style that merges an old decaying theater – with masks, rich dark heavy velvet wall curtains, walls upon walls of books, twisted ornate metalwork, porcelain and marble statuary, and copious vases filled with dried and dusty deep crimson, blue and black roses, with a clean contemporary Asian motif including pieces brought home from my travels abroad – velvet wall hangings of geisha in front of the golden pavilion, crisp clean brush art, a snowy village scene from the base of Mt. Hakone, fountains engraved with koi, and dual sand gardens; one featuring a light wooden case with deep black volcanic sand collected from the banks of the Ikeda lake of Ibusuki within the Kagoshima prefecture, the other of dark brown wood housing the fine, near white sands of the Barbadian seaside compliments our travels to my grandmother’s winter beach house property on the coast :)

12 – I need a *lot* of pillows to sleep. I currently have two full body down pillows that go on either side of me, a thin hypoallergenic cotton pillow for my head, three half-sized pillows for complimenting various head placements, and two bed width giant pillows to go on top of my covers and provide extra weight and warmth:) It’s my own little pillow cave! :D

Uhhh… *reality* is such a *strong* word. I do actually know, know at least two people on here in terms of having physically hugged them – but neither of them know *I* am on here, nor will they :P I definitely *feel* like I have known :icontheisraelproject107: forever though! Have spoken on the phone (holy best accent ever batman!) and enjoyed her rather more-legible-than-my-own letters and obviously have been talking on here for almost a year now – so I think we pretty much qualify. In an ideal world she would be my flat-mate and we would stay up all night making our action figures do naughty things to each other. Would be brilliant. Right now I smell like coconut and vanilla conditioner :P

Far too shaded drawings with enough layers to strangle an elephant. I don’t even wanna think of how that is even possible – all you need to know is that is a fricking LOT! Mostly KH fanart, or KH-fanfiction-fanart as the case may be? A couple of originals and a halfhearted photomanip grace the walls of my gallery too :D

Hmm – yes mabey? I don’t know that my personality is *all* dark per se, more like generally dark with streaks of light? I’m like Roxie checkers dammit – half/half :D As for colours . . . I am a fan of darker shades more than their lighter partners. Royal purple has always been a favourite, as have any shade of natural blue, darker forest green, crimson, and the whole spectrum of shades from white through silver to black :)

Sarah. Although previous to being born I was called Tector. Yeah that’s right. They didn’t wanna know my gender until partuition so I spent nine months named after a warrior prince from their current D & D game. See? I was awesome even before I was *born* ;)

Trixy one. It’s rather a challenge to shorten Sarah much at all so all my nicknames have been rather fleeting and person specific. Elementary went from Kindergarten 4 until Grade 6 and then High School started right up in 7 so I really don’t see where this so called *middle* school fits in? Perhaps it refers to how the grade 7-8 wing of the school is in a different area from the 9-12’s? But that’s like a different *hallway* (and boy did it *smell* - those kidlets had yet to discover the wonderful invention that is antiperspirant, disgusting.)

Brownish for the moment? Has been a rainbow of colours over its lifespan. Has been entirely platinum blond (natural), blue (somewhat less natural), black, or red (natural and then otherwise), or streaked purple, white, blue, or red at different points in time. Currently brownish on the top layer, and very, very silver purple underneath.

I have a MANE. Like a lion. A *male* LION! When straightened it’s like most of the way down to my bum :P

I could have sworn I did something remarkably similar to this not too long ago – but anyone who knows me knows that I am nothing if not narcissistic, so lets talk some more about me! ;)

8 facts about me:

1. I have several people who would each call themselves my ‘best friends’; each in different sections of my life – however there is only one to whom *I* would gift that title and she well knows it – Unfortunately, as fate I have learned likes little better than to laugh at me, she lives not only in another city, but on the other side of the world entirely. I mean we are talking not only opposite sides horizontally, but like I go north, she goes south and all that jazz. Quite inconvenient for hanging outage – but our baby paopu’s will keep us united! :D

2. I don’t drink, never have. Have never done any kind of illegal drug or smoked cigarettes or pot either :P Wow – that makes me sound like much more of a goody-good than I have ever considered myself to be :S

3. I am going to grad school in three days. I am not even remotely prepared. This is scary.

4. I have been to many different countries over the past few years, including but not limited to: Canada, United States, Mexico, Barbados, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Vatican City, China, and Japan.

5. I like to sew when I am stressed. I am not the most skilled seamstress, but I do love my creations – almost exclusively of Kingdom Hearts-verse descent.

6. I was voted best getaway driver by my friends in grade 12. Apparently I have a need for speed. Yeah baby ;)

7. Uhhhh … my favourite colour is currently purple – a deep royal purple, almost indigo. Oh, and when I was at a dance on Friday I definitely did the boys part to all the Grease songs, despite dancing with a very good male friend. There was no contest – it was decided from the outset that I was the more masculine of the two ;)

8. In a world or light and darkness I would be the twilight – the darkness is frightening in its secretive nature, but the light burns my eyes.

I definately hope that this petition works!


I originally became interested in dA because it was a simple and easy way to see the best fanart (and later original art) on the net. That said, the front page was my main source for a sanity saving quick and easy dose of talent. With the new system, I no longer find the amazing and creative art I have come to love but completely amature works in categories that I really don't care about. If I wanted to see poetry I would search for it or have these authors on my watch list. As it is - I no longer look forward to smiling when I see the front page, instead finding myself frowning at the publicity some of these artists are getting when I really don't think their work is front page worthy. Now I find myself being irrationally frustrated with the artists and authors when it really isn't their fault that they have been put up in the public eye through this random and flawed system. I think this is both unfair and unfortunate because artists who deserve it are being left off for being in popular categories and new artists are being posted on the front page only to be flamed and bullied. The new system is also completely unhelpful to the general dA population who look to the front page for inspiration and impressive artists to watch. I also find fault with the fact that this system is so easy to cheat. It encourages the 'accidental' mislabelling of art in order to make it into a lesser known category and thus have a better chance at getting put in the spotlight. There are some serious flaws with this system and I truely hope that dA sees fit to reinstate the old genuinely useful system or replaces both with a new and better model.
