http://search.deviantart.com/?q=by:denymyself&section=today deviantART RSS for by:denymyself en-us Copyright 2009, deviantART.com Wed, 09 Dec 2009 17:25:14 PST deviantART.com http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/tech/rss http://s.deviantart.com/minish/widgets/apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png http://denymyself.deviantart.com/journal/2622933/ http://denymyself.deviantart.com/journal/2622933/ Wed, 09 Jun 2004 17:35:03 PDT i came to a private christian high school in NC after a very rough middle school years in the worst area of town. thought it would be a new start with people that i can trust a bit more. i was however not a Christian at that point. i had gotten my family going to church and drastically changed their lives and the ways they raised me (atheistic evolution and science as a foundation) but i was unwilling to give up my ways. but when you spend that much time at school in a very strong Christian environment, you begin to wonder and ask questions. i began attending at the church that my high school was created from. it was a big jump from the 300 member methodist church i was used to to the huge 8000 member baptist church. but i was well accepted. over the course of the summer after my freshman year, i began to grow closer to Christ, and near the end of the summer i gave my heart to Him during a quiet evening service that my ADD wasnt allowing me to pay attention to (oops lol always a dreamer). i began spending nearly all of my time at church. 5 days a week for school, all saturday helping friends in the media department (sound, lights, video, etc.) and sunday morning service, then lunch with friends from church, then back to church for choir at 4 and evening service at 7. my senior year of high school, our class trip was a mission trip to costa rica. during the trip, we visited a place called Arenal. its a small village at the base of the Arenal Volcano. just outside of town is La Fortuna river with its beautiful 70+ foot high waterfall. my youth pastor happened to be one of the chaperones on the trip and i asked him to baptize me when we visited the waterfall. so the day came and he baptized me in the water just below the falls (random fact, the water is naturally 98% more pure than bottled water here in america) ]]> ~denymyself http://denymyself.deviantart.com/journal/2169790/ http://denymyself.deviantart.com/journal/2169790/ Wed, 07 Apr 2004 06:31:11 PDT

bgeats me, i have alot of favorites. the panoz lmp-1 roadster is nice, or the old classic imports, like the 1950-1960 german cars and italians. love classics but pretty much hate any american cars with only a few exceptions.

chicken carbonara is the best

arrogance, and a lack of adventure. especially in things like food or culture.

I am doing a photo shoot today with ~ bluehollow and ~whisper1ngwinds may come too. so we shall see. ill post what i can on monday when i have access to my mac again. i forgot the power adapter for my PowerBook so i wont be on it at all and wont have photoshop . So i am stuck on one of my other machines. (stupid piece of crap comcrap*cough*compaq, excuseme)

The piece i am working on now is going to take a while. several hundred layers in photoshop and more than 500 stock photos all done in transparencies to amount to one big asymetrical interlaced collage. should be interesting. bit of a study in intersecting value and shading as well as cropping and portrait drawing.

wednesday was a sad day as well. on wednesday, i recieved a call from my mother that they had to put my dog to sleep. he was really old but still i have had him nearly 11 years and though he was a truly stupid creature, he was incredibly sweet and loving. he was one of my best friends always listened to anything, made a great pillow, he was a dear member of my family. we rescued him when he was 4 after he retired from being a racing greyhound. to anyone who has never been around greyhounds or has never adopted one, i say this. go get one! they are incredible creatures. they, incredible companions and nearly 98% of the breed is killed by age 2. once they can no longer perform their best, say thy are now averaging 50mph instead of 52mph they are euthanized and usually in the least expensive way possible(i.e. a bullet to the head) they are brutalized. if they weigh too much before a race they are force fed clorox to induce vommitting to lower their weight for "weigh-in". they are fead poorly. My dog, "kenlee" was lucky to be such an incredible runner he ran hard and won ever week till the age of 4 when he was retired. If you live in north carolina or virginia this [link] is one of the best places to go to adopt a greyhound. they are truly among the most gentle creatures. most get along great with cats and just about everything and they have a very strong personality all their own. take a look. Aside from all of that, i miss mine dearly.

The next problem on my list is this. Women, you are so confusing sometimes. i have no idea what it is God wants me to do about women. i feel drawn to someone but as far as i can see they do not feel the same. but i have no idea what to do about that. and i also have another person who is feeling drawn to me but i dont feel at all the same way about them. again a problem. and to make it all worse, i still have bizzarre dreams of previous loves which seem as far as i can tell to continue until replaced. they distrub me though because i have noone to replace them with. i am simply stuck here a tiny boat tossed about in a sea of confusion carrying a load of love more than imaginable yet unable to share that love with anyone. oh well i suppose that someday i will know what to do.

the final point is that i have recieve very little actual constructive criticism on any of my pieces. i really want to make my works better and share them with everyone but i have no idea what i am lacking. i leave all kinds of criticism and encouragement but recieve none. oh well i suppose that may be a bit greedy of me to ask such a thing. asking time of strangers. thank you all anyway especially those who have left comments.
