Hello! I am happy to announce, after quite a longish wait, a new fribbles auction on the Bid4Bears site---Bid4Bears is hopefully going to be replacing eBay as the auction site of teddy bear artists!

I am part of a promotion of a large number of bear artists featuring their new works on Bid4Bears! Other artists include:

Patty Barrone, Dog Patch Critters, Janice Davidson, Bear Me Shootka, Janice Woodard, Charmingbears, Valewood Bears, Jigpaws', LuckyBears, Grimmbaeren, Not Just Bears, Real Deal Bears, Waggle Bears, Gail Hancock, Edie Barlishen, Russell Bears, Luxembears, Janet Ann Anderson, Michelle Lamb, Thimblebeary Originals

..and many more!

Bid4Bears is a wonderful alternative auction site and I hope you will take a look at the many beautiful and whimsical creations up there this week! Here is a link:

[link]

My auction is for a teensy miniature classic ted all of 2¼ inches big, the first in a new series of "Teddy Tots" for me. I've attached a photo, and you can visit Toby's auction here:

[link]

I will be listing a bear a week throughout this promotion, which runs from March 9th to May 10th, and I am hoping to get more than one bear up there a week---I have a sweet lil' pink-nosed brown bear in the works for listing on Tuesday night, if all goes well! I will also be posting updates on my blog.

Thanks for your interest and support, I appreciate it very much!

*waves*

Best,

Amelia, aka fribblesltd

This week I have auctions up on eBay!! Hooray! And hopefully they sell, which would be even MORE fantastic, because then I could buy the Canon Powershot I've been eying...using the family video camera on picture mode only works sort of well...as one can tell on the photos of Twinkles and her gourd house---her wings are these delicate rainbowy dragonfly wings and one can't even tell how gorgeous they are! *sob*

So, hopefully I will get some sales this week, AND get my other bears up and on eBay next week...I still have Twitter Mossling, Princess Blue, Pinkerton Pingie, and a sugarplum FaeryBeary to finish...am working on incorporating the costuming and crowns that I learned about in the seminar with Deb Wood earlier this month in Indianapolis into my teddies.

Thanks for peeking at my stuff!

So, this is a fun piece I did to just goof around with. I've got about ten other teddy bears in various stages of completion that are getting done...sort of. I should have more fun stuff to look at in the upcoming weeks, in spite of this being the SLOWEST and HARDEST time to sell on eBay right now...and before the holidays. Ack! Wish me luck!
Have gotten some synthetic faux fur from England last week, and am hard at work on my VERY FIRST big bear...which should wind up being somewheres over 6". Hey, when the majority of your work is 3" or smaller, 6" is HUGE!!!

--doing nothing!---

Well, I have been up to heaps of stuff, but none of them has resulted in a finished product. Am getting the Australian commission done, and working on the new anime series---complete with EYELASHES on bears that're only 2 inches big! Also am experimenting with the colored iris glass eyes for minis, and teensy tiny removable wings for the smaller sized faerybearies..trying new things all the time.

Plus, am getting bits of jewelry done here and there---and getting ready for a big marketing push in April on the www.bid4bears Bid4Bears site, a lot of bear artists will be listing in the hopes of helping collectors to the site, which is lots cheaper than eBay. [eBay is the devil! I still love it though]

Big news, I did have my work published in the March/April issue of Teddy Bear and Friends in the Facebook section---out of pages of artists, they chose to highlight one of my bears! I am of course thrilled, had to call my mother, librarian friend, mother-in-law, neighbors, etc.---and am hoping to join the online zine of Bears and Buds in April to enter the URSA awards, which are People's Choice awards for artist bears---you put your bears up with everyone else's and people vote for the ones they like best!

Am working on a teddy bear scene and a couple special bears for that.

So, no auctions for awhile still---summer's coming up and my mother-in-law [who makes the most gorgeous gem trees, you can see 'em here: [link] ] is going to be attending lots of art fairs, so I am going to be putting my bears in with her trees and the neighbor lady's jewelry [seen here: [link] ], and hopefully we'll all get rich...or at least get more money for supplies!! [creating is something of an addiction, after all]
..I don't know PHP or anything, was trying to use WordPress but discovered it might be beyond me...I'm best at editing HTML 'cause I don't really know anything, but anyways. Perhaps someday I'll be able to go to school for web/graphic design...

Am also working on getting my etsy store up this week...have a collection of German artist bears I've outgrown, so am going to offload 'em there, hopefully, along with some jewelry.
Not really in a happy mood today, more like hitting one of those downers. Anyways. Husband stuff, not so much fun. [mental shrug]

So, am keeping my chin up, thoughts optimistic even though am very uncertain, and thinking hard about Desiderata and everything working out as it's meant to be, even if we don't know how it's supposed to be, and especially if it's not how we want it to go but regardless of the pain or the price, that it will work itself out.

It must.
*EDIT* And things are working out better. See? There's the power of thinking positive for you!

...still trying to iron out the kinks on my pattern. This time I tried something different with the ears---after I finished 'em, I realized that they were very similar to an artist's teddy bear ears whom I admire very much [website: [link] ]---so I won't be doing the rounded ears again any time soon.

Click the photo below to get to the auction:

At any rate, this little girl seemed sorta lonely, so she got a cute felt fribble doggy to go with her. I love the white flower and the little toile skirt about her middle

Was in a bit of a hurry to get her up as my husband wanted to use his computer promptly at seven last night, and my computer, after being fixed, is still dismantled plus I can't get into my studio as it's a mess. Must get organized!!

I'm getting repeat bidders---which justifies the low starting price. Plus, on these dinky wee bears, I don't have to sew as much as a big 3" bear.
Best,

Low starting bid of $4.99! [normally I begin auctions at $99-$150---and even get bids occassionally!!]

Well, have begun my newest series, kind of a cross between anime [in size and body shape] and my usual whatever-it-is teddy bear style. Introducing Binko!

Binko's starting on eBay with a low bidding price of $4.99---mostly 'cause it's a new pattern that doesn't have all the kinks ironed out. He's got a bit of an offset head [covered up by the non-removable neck ruffle], and his nose is a bit off kilter, but he's super cute anyways! He also comes with his own stylish carrying case in the form of a matching patterned bag to his hat.
Anyways, am busily adding more of my creations to my gallery, and checking out lots of other artists here in DA!
