Guess I might as well do this silly art tag thing, though it's going to be dull!

Tagged by *Ten things about my art*

1. I basically can't create something from nothing. In every stage of 'art' I've been in, it's been based off someone elses work. Furcadia Patches were usual adaptions of pre-existing stuff... my digital coloring mostly involved coloring other people's art work, and even the current stuff I do, sim contests, is using other peoples custom content (the sim equivalent of furcadian patches). Heh.

2. I procrastinate EVERYTHING.

3. I want to take erotic b&w photographs... but I have no subjects.

4. With the sim contest pictures I do now, each picture tells a story. It may just not be apparent. I'll have to submit more!

5. I appear to know more about photoshop than I actually do.

6. I can, I think, offer decent critique's on other people's art when I myself can not draw at all.

7. I don't think I can think up 10 things.

8. I would probably still be playing and making stuff for Furcadia if they didn't have such a horribly limited color palete. Seriously.

9. I always see perfect pictures when I don't have my camera with me.

10. I'm very vain. I don't like to take pictures of myself that are in color, only B&W. Also B&W of everything is pretty much the main thing I like, unless there are intense colors in a scene.

So yeah.. Very boring. You were warned!

I'm actually happy that way. I've decided not to really focus on coloring this year, except to maybe do a handful of projects.

I don't think I will take commissions. There's a few reasons for this, firstly, it'd be much too much pressure. Secondly, there's honestly a whole ton of people whose characters I just have no emotional attachment to, and I think I have to have that measure of attachment to be able to draw them, or to be interested in doing so.

I'm a bit of a snob.

Edit: About 13 months ago to the day, I submitted by first photoshop colored piece.



Have I improved? Another 13 months will be very interesting to see.

I am interested in working with other people's drawings, making them lineart if they aren't already, then doing the coloring and shading for them - as with the last few pieces in my gallery. Basically you give me a link to the pic and I take a look and see if I feel up to it or whatever.

Then once I'm done I post it here with a link back to the original artist and/or drawing.

I do have a few people actively contributing to or allowing me to color whatever I want to color, but I am feeling kind of glum about my abilities right not. Boohoo.

And I'm STILL all excited about Dizzi's [link] working on a full colored drawing of one of my RP characters, can't wait to see it. !

It took awhile but when I went back and read over it I found basically one general theme.. and that was 'creation'. That's what I really love doing, whether it's cooking, patching on Furcadia or making love, I just love creating! And then I was watching a home decorating show at the same time and it reminded me of how my friend Weitin used to make bead jewelry and was trying to sell it to stores. Which got me thinking, I would just love to open a store/workshop where people who create all kinds of creative stuff such as jewelry, quilts, cross-stich, art work, paintings, drawings, even short stories.. all kinds of creative things.. could come and display there stuff and sell it to people. And also be able to take or teach classes there as well for making various things and learning how to write or draw or bead.

I am terribly interested in nude photography, and I'm trying to work this out. I don't know if it's because it is a 'polite' version of pornography that I don't feel weirded out looking at... but I really think that's me trying to justify myself to the world there, anyway. I think that the human body, whether male or female, is just beautiful when portrayed tastefully, nude. I am very much into black and white or sepia colors in photography, and I think I could actually be very interested in taking a photography class.
I think at least once I do go and buy that digital camera I'm getting this month, maybe I'll have something to put here. Not saying it'll be nude... but maybe I'll sneak up on hubby while he's sleeping. ]]> ~dese
