I have been SO distracted with work and boys... I haven't drawn anything other than doodles in months. Plus I just upgraded to 7, and then my computer blew up. So I need to get it together and catch up!


My usual subject matter sucks, though. My WoW toon is a Tauren this go around, so I don't really wanna draw her.


My biggest distraction of late has most certainly been Russian, though. I'm really serious about learning and although I'm slow I am dedicated. I'm still working on getting into college, and when I get into one I'm going to two year in hopes of slinging into a more serious college to major in Slavic language... Specializing in Russian and Ukrainian.
THIS IS THE CURRENT HOPE!
I'm only 22 and my lifelong dreams changing like leaves in fall. But I am getting okay at Russian... To the point where I can *gasp* help customers at work!

Anywhoo, I would love suggestions on what to break my drawing fast with. <3

I've gotten several messages and text messages the last couple of weeks asking if I'm still alive. The answer is kinda.
Back story on why I feel I have the authority to talk about that I'm going to talk about:
In middle school I was chubby. Very chubby.

Okay, fat. There, I said it.
It was a serious issue with me... Eating was my addiction. I ate to relieve stress, I ate when I was bored, I ate when I was lonely... It was my answer (without me even noticing I felt that way) to everything. I didn't consciously decide to eat in those situations, I just did. Then one day I noticed it and decided it was making me MORE unhappy so I made myself stop.
Well, Ever since I've been semi-consciously doing the exact same thing using video games instead of food. And lately worst of all. I've been stressed and unhappy, so I play video games. And the resulting lack of success and discipline is making me more unhappy. And it's going to be SUCH a long, uphill battle to work this addiction into a healthy mini-vice.

And the DS IS good for something. An app called Colors! is one of the best art programs I've ever worked with. It makes me want a Cintiq...
So yeah... An offering of apology from me for being a bad Deviant:

Hokai. I went to a convention, I had fun, and yeah.
I started on the Vulpitine. I was taking a different approach than usual. I was drawing it like I USED to draw, with real sketches and tons of detail and shading and eventually I was planning to paint in the color. All digital, naturally, but very traditional style. it looked so good. And then my computer broked. My USB ports all died. Mouse, keyboard, tablet... My computer was useless. so I had to let it go... And I restarted.
The Vulpitine is gone.
But fear not! I will start over. And I plan to make a lot of other contributions to the artistic community soon.
I realized something strange... The artwork that catches my eye more than anything has very bright, playful colors. So why do my pictures use such dull traditional ones?
Because I'm lazy. So I'm going to try and use brighter, more fun colors for work that I'm not doing on commission.
And commissions that people give me creative license on. :D
In short, I'm going to be myself more and be less lazy with my artwork.

Now I am going to go work on that Vulpitine!



It seems like I spend more time updating my journal here than putting ART here. Frustrating.
It seems like most of my friends and/or watchers didn't subscribe to my journals, either... Except EskimoBlueBoy. And I do not know HOW he finds the time to take those lovely photos, spend time with family and friends, AND check my journal among COUNTLESS other journals on his friend list...
You must be a busy man, sir. ;]

Well, well, well. I went to the mall today, and applied at almost every store. I say 'almost' because some are really high-end stores that require lots of experience I don't have. But I have an interview for Hollister on Friday.
It's a start.
I'm in one of those slumps where you convince yourself that all the things you've worked for in life are unattainable because you can't have them now. I know I just have to keep faith... But it's really, really tough sometimes. It's super-easy to lose sight of your goals when you're hungry, you know?
I haven't gotten that concept art finished. I feel like I'm not cut out to be a proffessional artist. My work ethic is great on other things, like filing or answering phones or mopping... But when it comes to commission artwork I strike myself as a very lazy person.
And it's my dream.
So maybe it's just a dream, and I'm doomed to be a poorly paid cashier the rest of my life?
Oh, foo.

On the bright side, the hope that I may soon have a job and thus money has put me in a great mood. So I've seemed plenty optimistic and cheerful to everyone else, which puts them in a good mood, which makes me feel happier. That's what I'm good at. Making people smile. It there a proffession for that where I don't have to wear giant shoes and a big red nose?

So yeah. The new DS has distracted me strongly from doing ANYTHING that needs doing. Starting tomorrow, I am TAKING CONTROL OF THIS SITUATION.

No more video games until I have finished my chores and gone out of the house looking for jobs for at LEAST a couple hours. In fact, I'm gonna start on those chores now.
And then once I have control again, I should start drawing and posting again. Yay! :D

Uhm... I guess I like the new system but I'm finding slowly that my interest in the front page has waned since the new system was implemented.
I guess that indicates some level of problem with the system, but I have no drive whatsoever to click on a block of the front page and examine it all further.
They just don't appeal to me.
Maybe the old system was biased
and hard to break into
and unfair
and a little skewed... but I could always make 20 minutes a day to just browse it. And enjoy it.
So why not now?
Maybe the artists with all the absurdly high views... The ones who 'worked hard' to gain all their insane popularity... Who kinda seem like they're whining about the new system... Maybe they're right.
o_o


But seriously, I'm behind on my art since last night I spent the evening with my sweetheart. We decided that this year we're celebrating valentinukkah. Several days of Valentine's. :D
No offense, in case that had the potential to offend. People are awfully sensitive about religion.
Like Tay. He gets really, really offended if you bring up Christianity in any way except with a derisive tone. Unless you're mocking it, don't say anything.
That bothers me a bit. >.o
But not enough to be angry or anything.
I just... I feel like a bad Christian. I'm doing a lot of things unChristian-like... And I know it's wrong. I've discussed it with Tay. He's okay with any changes I have to make in my life to feel more whole. :)
He really is a great boyfriend.

My ultimate super goal is to be a game concept artist. YAY!
Which is what I'm doing... I just wanna get paid to do it as well.
Right now I'm working on a battleship-esque game (Hence my FMA meme being so heavy on the armor/automail details... I'm trying to get used to mechanical detailing.) and my boyfriend's looooong delayed fps. He finally said last night that I could do the concept art, which I've been pitching for for a long time. After I finished "Brown Suit" he gave it a good look-over in full size (Which I won't post for you lot. It's massive and I don't like it.) and then asked me to do the concept art for his baby. I'm excited.
I still need the written descriptions though... I know nothing about it. Dx

So yeah! I'm trying to find 'a real job' in the meantime that helps buy food and Gaia Cash. :D
I've never actually bought it before, but I wanna so I need moneyz.
