For some time we've been running a limited test of the Ideas Forum on our Zendesk Help Desk integration. Today, we're expanding this test to our Beta Testers.

This forum allows for a great deal of flexibility in how we approach suggestions.

We can mark items that are planned, completed, or not planned at this time. We can also highlight staff responses on forums, giving more weight to responses that are important in informing deviants why we can, or cannot, take a suggestion into consideration at this time.

Multi-submit is a tabbed interface built into the Submit page which allows you to upload and submit multiple deviations at once.

There are several ways to upload multiple files:
Drag and drop several files onto the Submit page at once. Select several files from your Sta.sh by opening the "Select file from Sta.sh" modal and dragging to select, or by using control+click (command+click, for Mac users) to highlight several files at once.

The new "Adjust" panel allows you to adjust a variety of color settings, including contrast, tint, and color temperature. These changes can be applied to an individual layer or the whole image, giving you an even broader means of creating dynamic works of art!

The first major change for Film is that Sta.sh is now properly equipped to support film submissions! While it was sort of possible in the past, Sta.sh can now store and submit film files the same way other filetypes can be stored and submitted.

As it stands, the info on your page that informs visitors who you are and what you're interested in, is split into two widgets. deviantID and Devious Info.
This is a little unnecessary, so we've created a brand new deviantID widget that merges both of them into one!

Not only that, but the new widget will even help you along and make it easier for you to fill in all your info :dummy:

Simply edit either your deviantID or Devious Info widget and you'll get a little notice asking if you want to upgrade to the new deviantID

Through using dA muro, we realised that the way we saved files and draft in dA muro wasn't as effective and efficient as it could be, often it would take ages to save a file or maybe not save at all :noes: and the last thing you want is to lose your newly created masterpiece!

Huge Deviations: Full View Changes
:bulletblue: ...Huge deviations now have a 3rd level of zoom - keep clicking the image to get to the usual full view, then to the 'original size'
:bulletblue: The third zoom level causes horizontal scrollbars, but that's half the fun
:bulletblue: Deviations that aren't huge will continue to behave just the way they did before

This change lets everyone see the original size of the deviation without having to 'right click and open in new window' (or revert back to v6 ;))

You can now import images right into :damuro: in just 4 easy steps!

1) Select the "Import Image as Layer" option from the File menu

2) Pick your favorite sad Keanu picture from your harddrive

3) Adjust the size, angle, and position that you would like Keanu to be at

4) Press OK

Rumor has it that the new feature even works with images that do not have Keanu in them, but nobody on dA staff could be bothered to see if this is true.

Today, we are rolling some new changes to "Give a Llama", "Give a Cake", and "Give Points" into beta testing! :dance:

In essence, these changes should have no functional impact on your use of the site--we are merely modifying these areas to make them more secure for you to enter your password :)

You should be able to give llamas, cakes, and points just the same as always, but with the pleasant reassurance of knowing that your password is much safer.

Please note that these changes only affect giving llamas, cakes, and points. Llama-trading and accessories should not be affected by these changes.

I have just launched for all beta-testers an awesome new feature that does nothing :la: And I need awesome testers to find the bugs that are in it!

To be more accurate, it does a lot of stuff, but nothing that should be visible. :paranoid: I've rewritten the part of the site that renders deviation pages (prints and mobile dA excluded). There should be no visible difference between the beta deviation pages and the regular ones. That's the goal!

Since last time I talked to you all on :devdevbug: there have been some interesting and exciting changes :eager: so I'm going to give you a run-down of just what is going on.

:bulletblue: First off, I'm happy to announce that :devdevbug: is now the Official home of beta testing.
What does this mean?
:bulletgreen: In short it means that everything to do with beta will be run from :devdevbug:. Any beta announcements or news will be done through :devdevbug: and bugs for any new beta projects will go into :devdevbug:'s issue tracker. :devdevbug: is going into a temporary close-down whilst we sort out and fix all the current bug reports and suggestions that we have received at :devdevbug:

But what does the mean for you?
Well, first and foremost, any bugs or group related bugs will now go to the :devhelp: desk rather than here. Any current bugs that have been sent to :devdevbug: before today will be answered to and sorted but any sent from now onwards will not.

We will also not be taking any suggestions for new features, so if you have any suggestions please go to the suggestions :devforum:
