A walking copyright disaster. This site is the biggest smack in the face that you can possibly give to artists on DeviantART. In fact, many artists all over the net. Polyvore is supposed to be (and I quote)

"Polyvore is a free, easy-to-use web-based application for mixing and matching images from anywhere on the web. It is also a vibrant community of creative and stylish people.
Polyvore lets you create sets composed of individual images using an easy to use, drag and drop editor. After you have created a set, you can publish and share it with your friends and the Polyvore community."

And for the most part it is what is described as above. But for that other part it's a walking, talking copyright infringement just asking to be slapped in the face with a big lawsuit! There are loads, and when I say loads, I mean LOADS of DeviantART's artwork up on that site. The place is crawling with images that have been ripped from here and uploaded onto there so that people can slap ugly textures on it/make it ten times prettier (but in effect making it uglier) than it looked sitting on that site called DeviantART. But the real kicker is, that whilst the members are doing this, ripping out artwork and reposting it for ANYONE to use and make a mockery of out hard worked on pieces, they (Polyvore) have stated in their terms and conditions that when a user submits a piece, or whatever they are called, Polyvore is given:

"Polyvore does not claim ownership of User Submissions. However, with respect to User Submissions or content you make available for inclusion on publicly accessible areas of the Service, you grant Polyvore worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive license(s) to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publicly perform and publicly display such content on the Service in connection with the Polyvore Website and Polyvore's (and its successor's) business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the Polyvore Website (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels."

I've just spent about 2 hours reporting images that I recognised on there for Copyright Violation. But as it turns out, I needant have bothered, because they only take people seriously if they fill out the copyrights infrigement form (which I might add, is also a bit of a walking hazard in that it asks you for ALL of your details, including address and phone number - which could be taken in the wrong way to lead to identity theft!) ANYWAY... I'm just urging people to go take a look, all you need do is type "deviantart" into the search bar at the top of the page and before you know it up pop loads of images. Go rescue your art, before little do you know, it's being sold on ebay!

I start my new job tomorrow. Yeah apologies for keeping it so quiet; had a few issues regarding whether or not I was going to accept it. Turns out I might need to find myself a second job to cover costs, before I've even started my first day there. Bonus being that it is in my town, about 15 mins walk from where I live; so I can walk or run or cycle in in the mornings and again in the evenings. 2nd Bonus being that it involves graphics, somewhat at least, so hopefully it will be a stepping stone.

But, course now that I have something tying me down, the more I feel like I'm suffocating and everyone is so darn happy for me (or just happy that I've finally got a job) that the underlying issues or feelings for just how claustrophobic this feels to me aren't smacking them on the head hard enough for them to realise that I'm just not happy here. I quite begrudingly settled back down into the swing of things back home; but I don't belong here anymore. Everyone, and I mean everyone has their own schedules and I still don't, I'm still lost. My cousin is expecting her first child in October, my younger cousin and sister are still at University. my brother just finished University with a 2:1 and landed a job for speech therapy. My friend is back off to The Gambia in September, another friend has just been offered the perfect job.. everything is peachy.

for my good friend ~BlueIllusions who has been evacuated from her home in Western Kelowna due to the wildfires there at the moment. As far as I am able to tell there is a shortage of water, and the days keep getting hotter and hotter, backed up with the wind which is spreading the fires faster and faster. <3 Stay safe Shanon

I can't help it; I've seen it through about 3 times already and still I want more! I've started watching it from the beginning again and am already 6 episodes down the line! And considering there are only 9 episodes in season 1! >_< Gahhh! I gots a think for Patrick Dempsey see... he's just sooo good looking and yummy, not to mention that he's a doctor too! *swoon* So I've built this fetish of Grey's and now I'm making it worse by making LOADS of artwork/desktop wallpapers to go along with it! Mannn! And don't even get me started when in season 2 Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) appears! WHOA! O_O

In other news; my ring finger was promptly chewed out by the carving knife during preparations for dinner this evening! I was chopping cucumber and it got in the way and SLICE! Ughh, *shudder* It's alright though; you should see my typing now!

Yuhhh... I finally went to see Transformer: Revenge of the Fallen today! I should have been born a boy; Im too interested in cars, transformers, fighting; gahhh everything that girls arn't into! lol. ::EDIT:: Okay; please let me clarify before anyone else jumps down my throat about this. I'm sorry that my english sucks so much at 1am that I cannot make a sentence worth a damn. I hope this clears things up a little!? It is not MY art that has been taken. A copycat account, not artwork. Suggestion that we should watch Sheezyart because of the artworks on there that I recognise from DeviantART, no they are not mine. Have I missed anything? Oh and I wrote her a note informing her about her artwork on sheezy incase it is an imposter and she doesn't know about it.

Apparently I'm also a member on sheezyart, even though I've NEVER signed up there let alone submitted any artworks (which aren't even mine) Yep, I have another copycat (by copycat, I primarily mean a copycat account! I don't feel like talking about it much, I'm working on a new piece of artwork now (i hope to submit it tonight) to take my mind off it. I'm going out of town for the upcoming week. My grandma is ill again, so my mum has gone to stay with her in Glos, but also another one of my mums friends sons killed himself the other day; so she's gone to be with her too. I thought that 2009 would be a better year than 2008, but god it only seems to be getting worse. I'm going up with my mum, and I'll have to commute back to work. But yeah, if I'm not around much.

Okay so here's a little update of what I've been doing lately. I haven't been employed in a fulltime job since December '08, I've had a few temp days here and there but everything is seriously critical in the lack of jobs over here at the moment. I though that when I came back from Canada I could look towards something fresh and new, so I decided to see if I could enroll at my local university (Bucks New University) for an art and design course (because lets face it, not one employer will take you seriously if you DON'T have an art and design qualification). I started looking as soon as I got back, thinking on starting either this year or having something to work towards next year, starting Sept 2010. Well they had an open day today, so I went along to speak to one of the head of departments about which kind of course I might like to take part in. It was less that encouraging, apparently from the designs that I showed him, I would have to start at Level 0 - which was the basicity of someone who had never even been to an art gallery in their lives let alone touched a computer graphics program or been doing and studying art in their own time for the past 4-5 years, not to mention being self taught in both Illustrator and Photoshop. So talk about a kick in the shins, but that wasn't the only downfall of the day. I went to speak to financial services shortly after that about how much it would cost to take the course over approx a 4 yr period. £3225 ($5236.07USD). That would be okay if I could get a loan, not big issue. But here is the second kick in the shins whilst you are down and already floundering. Because I've already taken a higher education course (HND/Degree) I wouldn't be allowed to have a loan, even though I paid for my previous Higher Education course with my own money. Somehow that doesn't matter. So I guess I'm not going to university to study art and design, so i'm not gonna get that qualification that i really need in illustration and design so that I might be able to get the job that I want in life so that I might actually be able to support myself and (god-forbid) a family in the future. That it was all a waste of freakin' time and I should just give up whilst I'm ahead. I don't really know what to say; I feel so defeated and just tired of it all, of people not taking me seriously and not giving me a chance. I shouldn't have done my other degree... *sigh* This year is turning out to be just as unforgiving as last year. Why the hell did I come back at all!?

I don't know if I miss it because I have all the time in the world to think about not being there, or if I just miss everyone who I met, or if I'm just jealous that they are still travellng and I'm not. I don't know. But god, it doesn't even feel like I went. After everything before I went and it all being exactly the same now that I'm back. To me it was supposed to be a lifechanging experience, a way of rinsing off the past and everything that has happened in the past year and starting a new with a fresh feel and good memories. But now I feel out of place being back here; I can't get used to using £'s again, I keep converting it back to dollars and I'm constantly taking away 8 hours to see what the time is far west in Vancouver. I'm hopelessly and irrecoverably in love with it, and I can't 'fit in' over here anymore. *sigh* I've never cried so much on a flight home from a 'holiday' so maybe, just maybe it wasn't one, it was where I ought to be. Maybe.

It's not that I miss her at all, I actually couldn't give two cents about her now. But I miss having a best friend, someone I can talk to and share everything with, talk about anything and ask their opinions about what I should do, be doing, anything. I miss that.. more than anything right now.

Well I went along today, not really sure what I expected as I didn't actually know anyone! Eeek...! Though I recognised a few usernames and of course all the staff I pretty much knew of, but hahah... well they didn't know me. Was a little overwhelming to start off with but I met some really amazing artists; who's talent pwns anything I could EVER come up with! Not to mention that I felt a little drowned out by all the people who could draw immense and amazing things on a tablet and all I do is draw my manes and tails and uhhh water and... well that's it really.. *cough* I met no photomanipulators! Not sure I should have been sitting in the digital art group or the photography group or what... BUT I did have a good time! And I'm very glad that I made the effort to go! Oh oh, so I'll be adding some photos to my scraps from today (they aren't anything great (camera broke *see below!*) so I apologise now!

Yuhh.... well not broke entirely, but the screen that is supposed to swivel and then click back on itself so you can SEE the screen to take pictures broke (the connection died or something) and it's just a pitch black screen! I don't need this right now, I cannot afford another one, nor can I afford to get it fixed if I can't find the receipt for warrantee! Fuck...! I would like a Nikon D90... but hell like I can buy that when I'm actually broke enough to have to be borrowing money cause I have no frakin' job because of the frakin' recession! Grahhhhh!! *sigh* I hope it's not permanently broken...! >_<

Hey guys! I'm in Tofino, Vancouver Island writing this to you all; I'm having a magnificent time here; so much beautiful scenery and everything, but I miss you lots and lots! Still; I'll will hopefully have amazing photos to show you on my return! ^^ I've spoken to Lisse on the phone already; I guess it was a weird experience for both of us to hear what we really sound like! So today we are going on a trip to the hot springs; whale watching (grey and humpback whales today) bear watching and whatever else we feel like along the way. I'll write a blog (click on the link up there to see it!) when I come back so you can see how it went!

BUT BUT BUT;; my main reason for writing a new journal whilst on this trip is to say that Painted-Spirit caught my 100K!! Well guys it's finally here! I cannot contain myself I'm so damn excited! I just wanna keep on dancing! I've got everything packed, all the paperwork sorted; just doing a major camera dump to free up my memory cards and then I'm done. Already been online and booked in so I have my boarding pass and I'm ready to go. Gotta be at the airport tomorrow at 9am and then I fly at 11:05 to Vancouver (8 1/2 hr flight) and it's about bloody time!! ^__^ I have been wanting to do this for years and years and years and I am finally doing it!

Unfortunately I didn't make it to my 100k goal But hey if someone manages to catch, with a screenie, it while I'm away then the offer of the pack and stock still stands. Approx. 2.5k to go now! This is serious business as I'm going away in just over a week and I would like very much to have achieved 100k before I go. So... on that note, the first person who manages to catch a screenie of my 100k and send me a note with it (I'll only be accepting the first one) will get the other exculsive textures that I was talking about in this deviation >> [link] - which are being made as I type. And a little suprise when I return from Canada... that might be in the form of an exclusive stock pack... or even a manip.


Also, You'll be pleased to hear that Ozzy is doing fantastically well now; his skin infection turned out to be a form of doggie demititis - the reason we didn't catch it before it got really bad was due to the big mass of hair he has on his chest..! >_< So we just have to keep his hair really short from now on!

Hey guys, Well I didn't make it to that show in the end! >< Ended up spending the majority of the time in the bathroom making friends with the toilet because of stomach flu that I caught from a couple of kids that I babysit! That's the last time I eat something they make! O_O

I applied for a job to work at Windsor Castle the other day. I'm awaiting a reply but finger's crossed; I may, I may not get it. I hope that I do; not only will it be amazing to work there, but what an experience

Canada Trip is all coming around so quickly! I'm off to get my visa, exchange some money and a holdall, for when I go away, on Monday. I'm making some spring textures to submit up here in a while - not sure if I'll make them for public use yet or exculsively for the person who manages to catch my 100k - cause yeah, if you haven't already noticed I'm nearing that too! My goal is to reach it before I go away on the 4th of May... only 3k to go; do you think I can make it!? I'll post a journal nearer the time! <3

In other news, Ozzy has caught another infection that our vet thinks might be doggie hayfever of some sort. Basically the skin problem that he had last year, when his shirt had to been shaved and bathed in Hibiscrub, has come back twice as bad as last year only this time the vet didn't precribe any pain-killers; so he's feeling rather pathetic right now, he can't sleep, won't eat, won't lie down without wincing, all because all those actions require him to stretch his neck muscles out and in the process stretches the skin which causes the wounds to open up and start to bleed again. He's a bit of a sight for sore eyes at the moment! Not to mention that all the hibiscrub usage is turning is entire front this pink tinge... he's now a blonde and pink golden retriever... he couldn't look more camp if he tried! >_<

Hey, guys I need photography buffs' help. I'm going to an unaffliated show jumping event at my local yard tomorrow (Sunday) to get some practice in taking horse shots with my camera. I have a Canon Powershot S5 IS and need some tips, heck any tips that you can give me to get the best quality shots of the horses and riders and the jumping as I may see if I can sell a few of them while I'm there.

Undersatement; stood on a broken bottle in a club on thursday night - gotta wait till Monday to see the doctor at the hospital about having an operation to have the rest of the glass removed from the wound! Everything is all sorted out now; Thank you to everyone who offered their ideas forward; and a very very big thank you to mrs-daria who very kindly offered to send the main site a message for me It was very greatly appreciated. Also please take a minute to go and check out her photography... it's stunning!

My flights are booked!!! **does a little happy jig** I fly out to Vancouver with Air Canada on Monday the 4th May and fly home again three weeks later... I cannot tell you how long I have been waiting and planning for this.. if anyone wants to lend me their SLR for the time, then I would be eternally greatful...! I think my camera lens might smash at the beautiful sights!! lmao! ^^ Course this means that you'll have to live without art from me for those three weeks! Thank god I do this google search every so often right!? I only half wish I was ignorant to the fact and whatever. Why can't people just leave well alone and admire from afar!???

That's right, I'm looking for a maker of a new avatar for moi!! I've had the one that I've got now for a number of months, if not an entire year now! O.o That's the longest I've ever had an avatar on here!
Anyways, What I'm ideally looking for is a pixel artist who can make me a loverly new image. If not a pixel idea, then I don't mind a picture of some kind (maybe some of my manips?) but I would like it to be animated and display my name on it.
I don't have all that much to offer because I'm unemployed at the moment; but what I can offer for the perfect avatar is a mini-manip/texture pack. This isn't really a competition (unless I get millions of people interested (which I really doubt!)); but if you would like to try and give it a go then I would be more than greatful to you (:
Theme's would include (at random): Sushi (if pixel then I really would like a sushi one! ^^), music, horses, twilight, fantasy, dreamlike, emily the strange, vintage, polaroids, mountains, waterfalls.
