From people that have had problems with heavy management decisions from their editors, to others that have great working relationships with others. Myself...sadly a great editor I've worked for is leaving his job to go work elsewhere. It's definitely a first being on a title that is selling out and going into second printings (for both issues so far)!         <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ Figured it was time for an update on projects I'm involved in&#133;<br /><br />JUSTICE LEAGUE BEYOND (aka BATMAN BEYOND UNLIMITED)<br /><br />Batman Beyond Unlimited is set to debut both at the start and end of February. Wait&#133;what&#133;how's that? The Justice League Beyond story that Dustin Nguyen and I are working on will debut first digitally at the beginning of February. One 10 page chapter a week. He did a spectacular job drawing a story that answers how all the different Batman "skins" (costumes) are appearing in Arkham City. They play it pretty loose and it's a really fun show, even if I have the most quiet radio voice. Very mixed feelings now that everything has come to an end.<br /><br />It's been a fun ride, and the longest run I've ever had working on one title&#133;20 issues, although it feels much longer with the Detective Comics and Batgirl stuff in between and before. Years spent in Gotham, and yet I feel we've barely scratched the surface. So many more dark alleys to go down, so many more demented criminals to be brought to justice.         <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ The month of May was a very busy one for :iconduss005: and I.<br /><br />And this is the week where you'll see the results. Yup...a 4-D week. Dustin, Derek, Dini, and Dennis O'Neil. On Wednesday will see the release of Batman: Streets Of Gotham #13 and Detective Comics #866.<br /><br />On Streets, Dustin and I co-scripted the issue, with the usual Dustin on pencils and sloppy inks, and me trying to pretty things up with the rest of the inks. You get the conclusion to the 2-part Carpenter's Story, which was a whole lot of fun putting words in peoples mouths and pacing it out so it comes to a satisfying story. Apparently my portfolio of art was discovered intact back at the Charlotte airport, having been turned in by the taxi driver. I'm not exactly sure how the chain of events happened, but airport operations got in contact with Terry from AlRioArt www.alrioart.com , trying to locate Dustin whose name was also on the artwork. And once in contact there, the portfolio was sent to him and I'll be getting it from him. It arrived to Dustin this morning, all in great shape. So a nice ending to all this, which I had basically given up on.<br /><br />Sooo many thanks need to be handed out... t ]]></media:text>

The convention itself was nice...great organizers, a cool art auction, and the people that came by the table to chat, get their stacks of comics signed, and purchase stuff....are some of the most pleasant and courteous people I've ever come across on the con circuit.  Much thanks for everyone that stopped by, said hi, brought food, and offered smiles and hospitality!<br /><br />The downside (and a kick in the guts if there ever was one).... during the taxi service from the airport to the Westin Hotel next to the convention center, my portfolio of original art was lost.<br /><br />I am normally extremely care ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ I think I started the year thinking I'd just hit up a couple shows, and now that's snowballed into many :)<br /><br />The rest of the conventions I'll be at this year include:<br /><br />- HEROES Con in Charlotte, NC   (June 19-21)<br />- San Diego Comicon  (July 23-26)<br />- Long Beach Comic Con  (October 2-4)<br /><br />I'll be in the Artists Alley at all these shows and will have prints, sketchbooks, original art, and available for commissions. When the doors opened at 10am, I had my head down drawing the whole time and didn't finish my line of people until 4pm. Before that, he worked for a number of years on King Of The Hill. I met him back during my brief time going to art school in LA in '99. His portfolio of work was solid, and after some nudging, he sent it off and got tested for work. And just like that, his first time out, began his career in animation. It's one of those things where you can get drained cranking out 1 to 2 issues a month, and look forward to a weekend off here or there. But then when you have some extended time off, ya get antsy to get back to the grind of work all over again. The vicious cycle of the freelance lifestyle.<br /><br />Right now though...it's great! Multiple scripts coming in for the new Batman title, which look to be really cool stories. Gritty. Extended cast of Gotham villains and cops and such. For what I consider to be a short appearance, with Saturday being the only full day I'm at the con and the other two days feel like half days...I definitely was surprised at how big the crowds were and how that spilled over into Artists Alley. I think I cranked out more sketches on Saturday than at any other show I've been at, and barely had a chance to look up, much less walk around the show. Thanks to all those that stopped by, got something signed, bought a print or some art.
