Lots and lots of stuff happening right now! *LeytonC is back from his lastest trip to Japan. I'm so glad to have him back because I miss him when he goes away

I've been so busy with him back that I missed my own 1 year as an MN@. It feels wierd but I know I want to do so much more stuff as an MN@. I want to be more active too.

Healthwise, looks like after the Swine flu, I got Glandual Fever

Explains why I've continued to feel like crap 9 weeks after being told I have Swine Flu. I've been basically ill the whole time Leyton was in Japan which really sucks.

Uni is busy right now but I'm loving it and the freedom that comes with it. I got my first essay back which was a 15/20, which is a 2:1 Mark! I like that trend...I might even do better too! Awesomesauce

Leyton's party is coming to Aberdeen this weekend too. I can't wait to show them around Aberdeen and the places we like to go. I also get to show Leyton's Mom the new HUGE shopping centre we have! Hehe, sounds like fun

Today's my 22nd birthday! I've got Guitar Hero 5, pre-ordered another game and money from *LeytonC's parents and my halfstep-dad (don't ask about the halfstep part

) But the most AWESOME present of all was 12 red roses from *LeytonC!!!!! It was sooo super romantic and I've been squeeeing soo much with them!!

Dad had a little party for me in the pub too! Its not over yet but I need a nap...lots of booze etc etc

I feel bad because I haven't been around. Kinda feel like I'm letting $Tachy-on and the MN@ team down...hopefully things will change now!

I am pretty much recovered from the Swine Flu, however since I'm asthmic and my immune system isn't strong, I seem to pick up every little illness going around University. Last week, I couldn't stop throwing up and wasn't able to eat very much. I'm still getting tired as well!! Going to University for even a few hours tires me out so much. I have to come back for a nap!

My Childline training has begun also. It looks really exciting and I've met new people as well, who are also going to Aberdeen Uni too! Two of them are in 2nd year, one of them is did their minor in Psychology in 1st year!! I'm really excited about this and I'm looking forward to helping out childern and young people in distress

I'm also in my 2nd week of University and I feel really good about it! A lot of the stuff in psychology I did before as part of my HND course so I feel really confident about this year, or at least the first half of it!

I do miss *LeytonC lots though...even more so on the 6th...It was our 2 year anniversary together...

Well, there's so much going on in my life right now, I thought I would update this journal to say what.

Over the last week, its been a little crazy. On Tuesday, I had my interview for the Childline position I had applied for. I felt the interview went well but when it comes with interviews, I'm not confident at all. I've not had that much experience at Interviews which most likely explains it. Well, this afternoon, I got until to the flat and checked the mail. I'm currently looking for stuff from the University. There was a letter from Childline. It panicked me since I got told I was gonna find out next week. But I was accepted. I'm waiting for Childline to confirm their next training courses before I find out when I start.

The other update is with my dyslexia. I've had this strong feeling I have had it since attending college where they would treat me like I did have it because of my poor english writing and because I was unable to read long texts from books. So, now that I got told that I was attending University, I asked them if I could get an assessment for dyslexia. They said firstly that they would need to do a pre-screening for dyslexia. I did this pre-screening and it came out that I had "many of the indictors normally associated for dyslexia." I get the full assessment on Monday afternoon. I should be disappointed that it has come out that there's a strong possible chance of me having dyslexia but yet, I feel relieved. I've always known that I have had some type of learning disability, I just needed a name to put with it. So to finally find out that this could be it, I feel more relaxed than ever.

That's it for now I think. I will update this on Monday when I have the full assessment

EDIT
I had my full dyslexia assessment yestereday and it was done by an Educational Psychologist. It was really different to what I thought it would be. I thought he would just sit and chat. I had spelling assessments, speech assessments, writing style assessments, writing speed assessments, symbol recognisation assessments and reading assessments. After all of that, he said that I was a moderate dyslexic, meaning its worse than mild but not severe dyslexia. It means that I will get support from the University which is awesome. I'm feeling good about it. Yesterday, I was really angry at my School for not picking it up but I'm a bit more calm today

If you haven't noticed I've been a little inactive at the moment

Sorry about that but I will be active for dA's 9th birthday.

The reason for my odd inactivity? Travelling mostly. Me and ~LeytonC went to visit his parents. He doesn't see them that much and they are always friendly and lovely. Leyton says that his Mom spoils me since she's never had a daughter...which might be true

I had an awesome time as always with his parents. They always are lovely to visit. Our main reason for being down there was to pick up my beloved Fiat Panda, which had been there since Leyton went to Japan. We both love the car in Aberdeen so I can practice for my driving test and so we can go to other places in Aberdeenshire.

On the way back, we decided we would take a trip to Blackpool since both my sister and my brother had been there when they were younger. I always wanted to go. We spent most of the day at the pleasure beach. I love rollercoasters and other such rides! We went on lots of them. Some of them - like the Pepsi Max - were amazing whilst others were hellish. Overall, it was an awesome day. We got up really early to have breakfast and drive up to Aberdeen. We came in and stayed in the flat. We were asleep really early.

After recovering from the drive up, I went down to the Northlink Ferries to book for our trip to Shetland. But because of the time of year and because we were taking the car up, we had to go on an earlier and for longer. So we got packed and drove on to the boat 3 days after driving up from Leyton's parents

Not the best way. Right now, we are planning things to do while we are here. Having the car is good here because we can do tourist things

Mum is coming with us as well. She's loving the car here because it means she gets out and about too. Hopefully, there will be photos.

While being here, I have had some very awesome and exciting news. In the UK, there is a child helpline known as Childline which was set up in 1986 by Esther Rantzen to support children who need help when they are in danger or distressed. There is a centre in Aberdeen and since living in Aberdeen, I've wanted to volunteer for them. In the last 6 months, I decided that I was now mature enough to cope with the volunteer work with Childline. I applied about a month ago and I just received an e-mail telling me that I had an interview with Childline. I'm really excited for the opportunity to volunteer with them. So hopefully, the interview will go well

Well, I think that's all I'm gonna type for tonight. It's about 11.30pm here and Leyton is almost asleep on the bed! Poor thing!

Ok, so I didn't make it to the London HQ devmeet, I was completely gutted that I couldn't go. It was such a crazy weekend here with my friend, Oscar, moving in until his flat became available...the very high likeihood of my Aunt being in hospital down here - which didn't happen - and the timing that ~Little-River was in Scotland too.

However, `maxwell-heza deserves lots and lots of love on her page for calling her Fella Plushie after me for the day. I can't wait to see the rest of the photos!

But at least, there was a lot of the Brit MN@s and did make it to the meet...

Life Update

Well, *LeytonC is in Japan again and I miss him lots but I think he will be home soon

My final exam is on the 3rd June, after that, it will be finishing up my coursework and then working - hopefully - through the Summer. I'm looking out for summer jobs since it would be nice to have a little extra money! Plus, I don't want to be in Shetland for 4 months.

In about 10 days or so, my sister is due to give birth to my first Neice/Nephew so it is very exciting

She will be down in Aberdeen next week so I will get to see her beforehand. I can't believe I'm gonna be an Auntie! Techinally, Leyton will be an Uncle too. We are both really excited! And of course, I will update my journal when she gives birth

I'm still editting photos from the photoshoot I had with ~MadameBink! I got featured in ^wynnesome Fleshy Features #5 which features DD suggestions that have been receieved but not given either because the Artist has had a feature within a few months or it is in the wrong catergory. The piece that got featured was in Emotional not Artist Nudes so that's why it didn't get a DD but saying that, I was completely shocked but amazed by the feature but still honoured!

Well...not yet but soon.
My sister is having her baby in May which will give me my first ever niece/nephew so the family are very very excited about that.

Car

On Saturday, me and *LeytonC ended up putting money down on a car which my dad will buy for me as my late 21st birthday present. It's a nice little fiat panda which is light blue but awesome. I can't wait to get it. Hopefully, I should have it a week on Monday! I haven't passed yet but I need more practise than my 1 hour a week, so Leyton it going to take me out...

The Archer Inquiry was started in April 2007 to investigate the government's activities in the 1980s which lead innocent people getting Hepatitis C, HIV and now vCJD through contaminated blood products such as Factor VIII. The people who got this was those who were dependant on Factor VIII, a common blood clotting product given to those who were haemophiliac. The Inquiry itself was funded by a private individual who, to this day, is unknown.

Two years later aka today, the report findings were finally published. The report said that the USA government at the time shouldn't have imported blood products which they knew themselves to be infected and effectively putting money over lives. The UK government has been attacked for using the products themselves, even after being warned by the World Health Organisation that the blood products were risky. Lord Archer also recommended that a compensation scheme should be put in place to compensate those who were infected.

The Happiness

This day is the day that myself and my family have been looking towards. In March 2007, as part of International Women's Week, I did an interview with my Mum for dA because she was one of the innocent victims in this scandal.

Today, everything we knew about this has been confirmed, and even more important, its now all in black and white. It's now in the public domain that this was done. The government can no longer hide away with their pathetic lies of "we didn't know about this" or "there wasn't the tests for it." Today, the UK government have been proven to be complete liars about this. We hope that the government finally stop fighting against us and finally give families like mine the fair conpensation scheme that has been recommended instead of their Â£20,000 "we didn't anything but we are paying you to shut up for a while" scheme.

We hope that this is a step for the justice and clousure that my family and others more than deserve for the 20 years of blood, swear and tears of fighting for the truth.

The Sadness

Whilst today is a day of great joy for the reasons I have given above, there is one thing that give us sadness. Whilst people like my Mum and other campaigners are here to see this, many aren't. Many have died due to Hepatitis C and HIV because of this scam to not see this day come.

Personally, I am lucky that I still have my Mum for this day but we do feel the sadness too. My Mum was supported by a great person who become a great friend to our family. Whilst ill, he would still call up to see how my Mum is and joke around with Mum and helped her greatly when she needed it. They finally meet before he become too ill. He always hoped to come up to Shetland but the Summer that he had planned to come, he got worse and finally passed away.

It's almost the end of January already so I thought this would be an ideal time to update my journal also I'm bored in college again.

So, yeah I'm still in college. Earlier in the course, I was falling behide in my coursework but I am slowly getting everything sorted and handing essays etc in which is a huge boost to me. I just want everything done and dusted so I can focus on what I should be doing. I also finished my appilcation to University as well. I'm trying for Psychology in Aberdeen and Edinburgh because that is what I really really want to do

Leyton is still in Aberdeen too, which is awesome as well. It's awesome having him about again. He goes away again in March but I'm not thinking about that. I want to enjoy the time I have with him at the moment. We both agree that we need to go and play with our cameras again which we will do soon, hopefully.

Oh and my lastest photo, "Sunset on Boulevard" is being entered into a monthly competition at our camera club, so we will see how it does there

I personally think its an awesome photography but I might be a bit bias

Anyways, I better go back to doing college stuff

2008 has been a quite successful for me. In February, I was accepted onto the #help team by $chix0r and I have loved it every moment of it. I have had some very good laughs behind the screens! It's given me a new apprehension of what people behind the screens do.

In March/April, me and *LeytonC went to our first devmeet together in Wales where we got to meet a lot of people we knew such as $zilla774, `cei-, `maxwell-heza, @leaf-lover and `blackice. And just before Christmas, I met up with @leaf-lover again and we also bumped into `Caektiems also!!

Whilst I was sitting in Tokyo, Japan this August, I was also made a senior of deviantART, an honour I thought I would never get. This was done by lolly This is was a great moment for me

More recently, I have been made a member of the MN@ by $Tachy-on and so far, I am having a lot of fun and it just reinforces this apprehension for the people behind the screens of deviantART.

...in terms of life

As for life, 2008 has been a bit of a mixed bag. Me and Leyton, of course, have been going from strength to strength. We met up in Japan, where we spent 4 weeks together. We also moved in together, spending another 3 months together before he left for Japan again! We spent our birthdays together, cuddled with one another. There is no place better than in the arms of the one you love

As for college, I successfully passed my HNC with flying colours. The second year has been a bit more difficult, which hasn't been helped with a relapse in my clinical depression but I hope that this year, I will work through my course and my health to successfully pass and gain entry to University to do Psychology

I had an awesome day!

I'm soo glad I spent the weekend with ~LeytonC since he wasn't in Aberdeen last year. I had soo many cards from my family, friends and Leyton's family and friends which was really nice

Leyton firstly treated me to a birthday meal which was really good and I really enjoyed it. Then we went looking for things to buy - I got about Â£300 for my birthday

I didn't find much so we went back to the flat. Cuddled a lot! Then after that, we hit the local pub for a few drinks. I got two brought from me. One from a guy who used to work in there and another from Dad's workmate from Orkney which was awesome - also got a card from him too!

After that, we hit the new casino which has just opened up about 2 minutes away from our flat

We signed up, had the tour of the casino which is very modern! Then, we went to order some drinks and the guy said they were on the house since it was my birthday

I never say no to a free vodka!

Then, buisness time! Leyton put down a Â£10 and walked out with Â£30 on roulette. I lost money on roulette and blackjack :<

On Sunday, I was nursing a hangover and Leyton was bright as a button

We went out for food to the casino because the prices are really cheap! And I loved the food. It was really good

Leyton put down another Â£10 on the roulette and walked away with Â£50! They really aren't making money out of him

We were going to sit and watch the Grand Prix in there but my brother kinda surprised us by being in Aberdeen for about 2 hours which was awesome because I haven't seen him much lately! At night, once my brother had gone, my friends came round the flat and we introduced them also to the casino. One

So overall

It was a wonderful weekend and I loved every moment of it! I met up with my Dad today who says that once I've passed my driving test, he will get me a car as a belated 21st pressie

I have my birthday weekend again this weekend. 3 cities, 3 nights, 3 chances to get drunk! I really enjoyed spending the time with Leyton as well. He's gone back home now and I miss him

I still remember my heart skipping that beat when I saw you for the first time. And I remember thinking that you look taller than I had imagined. You took my bag and the whole weekend together, you were a complete gentleman. That whole weekend was really an eye opener for me. I was thinking how much I wanted to be with you. Well, it's still hot but the humidity is calming down now so I'm getting better with all this heat. Yesterday, I went to the biggest department store in the World right here in Japan and WOW! It's huge! Went and looked at clothes but didn't try anything on since I'm all shy at the moment. We have also been sorting out me and Leyton's trip to Koyto and that's all finalised now. Very excited about that

As for the Ash gig which is happening tonight, I'm not sure what is happening. The guest tickets haven't been sent to us so I'm really down about that

Hopefully, through the day, something will happen for us to go

Edit Ash sent the tickets but only enough for 3 so me and Leyton are staying at home

19th July

Well then, I am now safely in Japan. I arrived yesterday aka Friday. I came to the house and just crashed out. Silly jetlag. Leyton arrived home in the evening with some red roses

It was really great to see him. After that, we went out for food and just a very relaxed evening.

Getting here however, was annoying. I wanted to meet up with @leaf-lover in London but Bill aka Leytons boss changed the arrangements. Though, it was funny. On the plane, Bill was sitting talking to the lead singer of the band "Ash" who offered us guest tickets to their gig in Tokyo on Wednesday. Awesome

14th July

Well, my journey to Japanland starts today. I'm away down to *LeytonC's parents today. Plane goes about 7.10pm UK time and they are meeting me. Go back to Leyton's house and then I think I shopping with his Mom on Tuesday. Travelling down to London on Wednesday, with Leyton's boss and his family. Hopefully, I will see @leaf-lover on Wednesday

I'm flying out on Thursday morning to land on Friday. I will keep this journal updated of my trip in Japan

My shitty life

Many people think that I'm a spoilt little rich girl who has the perfect life but that is so far from the truth, it's unbelieveable.

My family life has had its happy times but they are rare. Mum always goes on about how things should have been different with me with my speech difficulties and my slow learning ability when I was younger. She wishes now that we moved out of town to avoid my torture which would finally lead to me being put on medication for depression. She wishes so much now but really it doesn't make a difference now.

My family isn't "normal", one of the many reasons why I wanted to study psychology. It helps me understand what has happened to me. Just to be blunt, I have never been the subject of any sort of psychal abuse. Just mental abuse via Mum and my sister.

If we go back to years before I was born, there was Mum and her family and Dad with his. He got married young and has a child that we may never truely know. Mum got married and had two children before finally diroving him. Then after many years later, Mum and Dad got together and had me. I've always believed that I was a product of some one-night-stand or an accidental prengnacy. When I asked, all I got told was that I "entered a loving family." Not a straight answer really.

As a child and an adult, if the wind blew the wrong way for Mum's washing, I was on the one who got the trouble for it. To the point that, today I can leave the freezer door until I know it is closed because when I was younger, my sister left it open and I got the trouble for it. I've never had a "sorry" or anything for it. Even today, if there is trouble in the family, I get the blame for not "keeping the peace" when infact, it's My sister who stirs it up. My sister rebelled when I was young as well and decided to leave home for her boyfriend. As a 10 year old, I had to care for my Mother, who at the time could barely walk with the pain in her back. To this day, I haven't forgiven her for that.

My sister IS the spoilt little rich girl that everyone thinks I am. She's slim and has my Mum and her Dad around her little finger. She came and stayed in my flat for a few days. A few of Dad's workmates came in drunk for something, which naturally scared her - I understand that. But she went home to Mum and lied about the whole thing. Saying that Dad wasn't sober and that Dad's workmates had treated her wrongly. None of which is true. She is the reason why Mum and Dad are no longer talking. My sister has always tried to make me into a "mini-rachael" which is what I don't want. She doesn't accept me for who I am. I'm a tomboy and I am happy for who I am. I don't want to be like her!!

Back to my Mum. Whenever my sister or brother is home in Shetland, I get ignored. I no longer exist in her mind. I've learnt to stop trying to get any affection from her whilst they are here because I won't get it. Even in my older years, there were no love in her hugs. I've always been a "huggy" person. Why? Because I want to feel something from that person rather than nothing that I had from my Mum.

One of the best moves I made was moving away from the family home to go and study. Finally, I was "allowed" to do something for myself. But yet, this decision itself has come back to haunt me. When I come home, I get more abuse for my weight. Mum wants me to be this slim little thing which I have accepted that I won't be. She wants me to be a "girly" girl which again, will not happen anytime soon. She cannot accept me for who I am. Also while being away, she is now giving away my stuff to other members of my family. My stuff that I earned the money and paid for myself. When I kindly ask for these items back, I get screamed at and get trouble for being a bitch.

So, back to the idea of me being a spoilt little rich girl. I'm not simply. I'm a depressed lonely woman. The people who love me is my dad and my boyfriend, *LeytonC. His family care for me as well and great people who have raised their son right. I get on better with Leyton's Mum than mine.

I'm currently in Shetland but I have decided that, other than my friend's wedding in August, this will be my final time here. I'm taking my stuff and putting it in storage. I want NOTHING more to do with my Mum and my sister. Why am I crying? Because this is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.

Quick Update!

1. I passed my HNC in Social Sciences...as in I got a "B" as my grade. So I'm over the moon about that. Anyone who has spoken to me on dAmn will know how stressed I've been over it!

2. With my course out of the way, I will be going home to Shetland for about 2 weeks so not much actvitiy from me - except *birthdays of course.

3. I needed to get new glasses as I was getting really bad headaches due to eye strain. I look very smart with them now. But what is annoying me currently is the fact the only thing I can do without them is walk

4. Leyton is in Japan and he's getting on fine. He's working like a bitch but he's fine. I'm really missing him at the moment but its not long until we meet up again.

I will do another journal before I go to Japan of course

Leyton's gone to Japan

As *LeytonC said in his lastest journal, he's away to Japan today I'm just waiting on a text to say he has boarded his flight. His plane goes at about 1pm

I'm going to miss him a lot. He was here for about 3 weeks and now the flat feels very lonely. I'm going to cuddle into my quilt now.

But to be fair, if he wasn't going to Japan, it wouldn't be 4 weeks until I go...

Japan Baby

Well, a few of you may know this already but a lot of you don't. *LeytonC currently works for a Japanese Company so every so often, he has to fly out there for a month or so. Well, for the last little while, Leyton has been in discussion to his work to fly me out there with him for part of the Summer. Today, I receieved an e-mail, confirming times and dates of the flights.

I'm going to Japan for a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why am I so excited? Well, one of my life goals is to travel the world, and one of the places I want to go to is Japan. Well, I've done all my open book essay stuff so I'm back. I still have two closed book assessments and my final exam. Whilst I am still stressed, I know I have the ability to pass them.

Me and *LeytonC continue to have a strong, happy relationship as well. Hopefully, he will be in Aberdeen soon too Our family of Canon lenses and cameras continues to grow with Leyton getting a Canon 20D and I got a new lense for my camera. The one thing that really annoyed me with the 450D coming out was that the kit lense on it had Image Stabilisation on it. Well, that's the lense I got and for a good price too. I will use it until I'm more used with my camera

Into the courseworks

I have 2 open book essays due in the 13th and 15th each of which are 2000 words. I thought I had 2 weeks but clearly I don't. I'm blocking all my favourite sites from my router as from now so I won't be about.

Mini Update if you will...

So I thought I'd do a little update College is still taking over a lot of my time right now which is annoying but I'm so close to finishing for this year which will be good. I could be finished about June/July so it's not much longer. For Summer, I might be in Shetland for a bit, I could be in Bromsgrove or I could be somewhere completely different so we will have to wait and see

As you can see, I haven't really submitted much lately. I really haven't had the time to go and take any shots however, the next sunny day in Aberdeen that I will get, I'm going to take a break from my coursework and take a few shots. I do have some good ideas for what to take, I just need time to do it But while you wait for me to submit, I recommend that you go over to *LeytonC page.
