Ugly Fascination / Beautiful Contempt / Wanting Doesn't Mean I'll Get
Love / Trust

I've seen the word 'love' tossed around a lot, recently. Whether I was watching a murder of words or the striking down of blissful human emotion, or a declaration of desperation and the fumbling of unseen lips saying things like, "I love him, I miss him..." and all that lovesick jazz; it's all there... 'love'. But what does it mean? Sure, Wikipedia gives us the rational, anonymous definition of it, but what does that person, the one whose IP address is logged down as the writer of that definition, know about 'love'? It's all different, to you, to me, to that individual two continents away whose name you'll never know and whose face you'll never see.

Some might say I use the word 'love' loosely. Yeah, I love you~ but do I mean it? If I say so, I probably do. If I jokingly say it in a post on a forum for the whole world to see, with that little tilde at the end, followed by a nice '<3'... perhaps not so much, but enough to care about you and actually type it out, anyway. Think of it this way - if I talk to you and give you most of my attention (at least once a day or every two days), I probably do.

I don't know how many times I've said it. I say it more often than before, and to many more people - but the ones I say, I usually mean, even if I deny it later on (i.e. we're just friends or talking buddies) just so you won't draw away from me, shrinking away in some form of shyness or distance-embracing characteristic that you possess.

Perhaps it's polyamory. I doubt it. I still tend to selfishly cling to monogamy if I really am crazed over someone, or if that someone loves me too. Perhaps it's... cynicism, in a sense. I don't really expect reciprocated love or happy endings anymore. It's more of a "Sure, you say you love me, I wonder when that'll end, and how. I hope it'll be gawddamned beautiful when it does." kind of feeling.

Oh, gawd. I sound so depressed. I believe it's due to me being oh-so-daring lately, talking to so many new people who interest me. I've pissed off one, I've made improvement with another, and some have timezones that make me want to cry. I tend to focus on the ones who get along with me better, though my thoughts lie with those I don't get along with. I'm still deciding if I should contact them and sort it out (since I enjoy finality and the beautiful ugliness of it) or leave them be and snicker away at how I prodded them to the point of heightened emotions (i.e. anger and distrust). I'll go flip a coin later and make my decision... when I'm bothered.

Oh, yes. One thing that was brought to my attention lately. The word 'trust', which people seem to focus on a lot. To me, that word's not really a priority. After all, when tragedy ensures, the chances of me missing a person are proportional to whether or not I cared/loved them, rather than on how much I trusted them. Three people brought the word into focus lately. One emphasized on how few people there were in his/her life whom he/she could trust (me obviously not being one of those special people), the second simply told me that he/she doesn't/won't ever trust me (simply due to their nature), and the third elaborated on how few people he/she trusted. And all this while, I'm realizing... that I never really thought about it. Then I snort and laugh and say to myself, "Creating a bond with someone doesn't mean that you have to trust them. Talking to someone frequently about yourself doesn't mean that you need to trust them completely. It's talking, communicating, and seeing what type of bond it bends into. Hell, some people don't even trust their own mother and yet dare to tell a stranger online about their problems, heartbreak, and depression, spilling their life story like a glass of milk knocked off the table. So what the hell does trust have to do with anything? People talk with others based on gut feeling anyway - will that person hurt me or not? Even if they wouldn't, you'd never know, anyway. Call it trust, call it distrust. Whatever, you're still communicating and creating a bond with someone anyway."

Geez. People are either too detached, or too clingy. It's the same with me, really.

Online Relationships: Real Or Not?

I've argued on the few forums I'm in, and I'll post my argument again. xD Here goes:

I've seen people make friends online. I've seen people rip each other's throats out online too. There is no sound, no staring into the eyes of the other person, and only words. If human feelings like that can be channeled easily across the internet, fuelled by thought, pride, shame, anger, happiness, and hurt; what makes online relationships so hard to believe, in terms of existence?

Debaters argue about whether or not life-forms can exist on distant planets or stars, and when it comes down to relativism, it's always a 50/50 chance - either life-forms can exist on them, or not. It's either one or the other, until proven. Unlike that, there are so many cases of online relationships that work out and transform into marriage, while others fizzle out pitifully. What other proof is necessary? I believe that it's all down to a matter of opinion on the subject, rather than whether it works or not. You either believe in online relationships, or you don't. But they'll always exist, regardless of your opinion.

Sure, people like proof. It's always down to statistics, images, cold hard facts; but yet cynics deny 'words', deeming them as 'just words that people splatter across a screen, and it could be true or false, nobody knows if you're lying' - but is that so? People believe in webcams, photographs, and anything that could mark as a proof of existence, gender, looks, or sincerity. It comes down to 'trust' and 'belief' in the end; and if you can believe in statistics and carefully worded publications, why can't the words that people type out on the internet be trusted, even just a little? There's the running risk that you could be talking to a liar, but hey, look on the optimistic side of life - the liar's wasting his or her time (that could be used for other useful things, such as grocery shopping or homework) trying to catch your attention. Anyway, webcams and images could contain lies just as well as words can be manipulated, but they all can contain some element of truth to them as well.

Yes, yes. Sex offenders. Serial killers. Predators. Vore RPers. Cyber-crazed maniacs. Liars. Cheaters. Wife beaters. Pedophiles. Children. Sirens. Manipulators. Two-timers. You name it. Everything and everyone could be lurking online, waiting to hunt down anyone and everyone. You might never meet one, and there's no way to prove a person is one until you meet and get attacked/cheated on/lied to/rejected/raped/molested/donestuffto, but there's also the chance that you might never meet one. Of course, be careful who you talk to, and watch out who you meet, but it's all down to trust and belief still, isn't it? Some teenagers (and even adults) go online to find people to talk to, perhaps for love, friendship, or even escapism from real life. It's not the fault of the internet for meeting the wrong people, nor is it the fault of a person's rusty webcam with crappy resolution - it just happens. Yet, despite all the bad that can happen online, there are still those who find happiness, everlasting or momentary. And all of this is real. It's happening. There are people behind the screen. Good, bad, evil, twisted, wonderful, loving, and angst-ridden - we're not robots. Hell, if you took time to read this post or even post in this thread to defend your beliefs or thoughts on this subject, it means that you're real. It means that even the cynics behind the screen are real. So what makes online relationships and friendships not real?

Finally, let's bring this down to personal encounters and experiences. Sure, not everybody can relate to the wonderful experiences some have when it comes to online relationships, but I've seen it happen - A and B fell in love online for a long period of time, met once, and he decided that he would propose to her the second time she visited. Recently, they met up less than a month ago (their second time ever). She went home with an engagement ring. Such a lack of physicality in that relationship, but yet so much love. I guess that's what made me know that online relationships could exist, and extend into something more, if both parties desire to. Not to mention my own, personal experiences. And so the cynics say that it's all a lie, and that falling in love online is stupid, and possibly for those who have no luck in real life. I don't know what to do. The anime convention will be appearing in December and I don't know who to go as. I have long black hair which just touches my hips. That long. I have no fringe - just pure, long black hair. I wear glasses too - but that can be easily fixed with soft contact lenses.

Simca seems easier. The only problem - her hair colour is pink. And her hat and goggles might be hard to find. And those boots? I'm not gonna buy the outfit - I'll make it myself. Not that I'll need a lot of material for her anyway. Ringo was a nice thought, but...she doesn't wear a 'specific' outfit. Her clothes change 24/7.

This is annoying. I don't know what to do.

If I can't decide, I won't go. But I wanna go... But as who?

Furthurmore, when I checked out the other stories this xRoseElric person published, I learned for sure that this person ripped stories off from Quizilla. I know this for sure. This person "xRoseElric" is a person who rips stories off [link] and publishes them on [link], as her own stories. She has by far copied two stories by me, and a third story by another talented writer at [link]. I know for a fact that this person who goes under the pen-name "xRoseElric" is plagiarising stories from [link] due to the fact that these stories were published long before on Quizilla before she plagiarised and published them here. I am very upset, as two of those plagiarised stories were originally written by me. These two stories are entitled "Broken Hearts" and "A Pyrrhic Victory". The third story that this "xRoseElric" plagiarised is entitled "Goodbye. Forever. The End. {Fullmetal Alchemist}" by ZirconCries from Quizilla, published a long time before this "xRoseElric" person plagiarised it.
